- Fujifilm X10 is one of my favorite cameras. In this video I talk about its lens. The Fuji X10 lens is very special and has some unique characters. I measure the sweet spot of the lens as well as its center and corner sharpness at different focal lengths and F-Stops. The lens displays very interesting behavior. I like its low level of aberrations and retro character. The X10 lens is also a very capable macro lens (it has macro and supermacro function). Watch this review about the Fuji X10 lens and you’ll learn a few more things about it.

This was my gateway drug into the Fujifilm universe… I still have it and enjoy using it.
Hi! Very well put. It was exactly the same with me. Kind regards!
I love my little X10 its a unique design. Still produces excellent images and I find the monochromes it produces are a delight. I will never part with it. Great vid Tom.
Hi! Thanks a lot. I certainly agree with you. Kind regards!
The filter I bought (on Amazon import from USA) is "Fotasy 40mm MRC Multi-Resistant Nano Coating Super Slim MC HD UV Filter"
Hi! Thanks for letting me know. Kind regards!
Good morning Tom...i also have a original Fuji X10 lenshood an a Marumi 40mm circular p.l.d filter....thanks for y video!
Hi Jan! Great to hear from you. Thanks for the technical info, too. All the best to you!
Absolutely brilliant camera, the EXR mode seems vastly underrated. As far as filters are concerned, NiSi Pro Nano HUC Protector 40mm fits perfectly :)
Hi! Yes, the EXR mode if very nice. I've also made a video on the EXR mode (th-cam.com/video/oNiBvA6dZx4/w-d-xo.html). Thanks for letting us know what filter you were able to fit on this lens. Cheers!
Great Channel Tom! This is a fantastic camera! Probably its gonna be the only one I gonna use in 2025! Greetings from Norway! 📸✌
Hi! Thanks so much. Indeed, this is a great camera. Greetings to beautiful Norway!
Filter is 40mm but some lower-end filter are made with lower toleration which makes them fit. Also the lens barrel is plastic which can expand/stretch
Hi! Thanks a lot for your clarification. Cheers!
another great video Tom, i have the lens hood and cap but of course you can't use it with the leather case which i love so i dont tend to use it the often, i also have a skylight filter to protect the lens, thanks for the upload.
Hi! Thanks so much for watching. It's great to hear that someone has a hood for this camera and is also using filters. What is the filter size you're using and who made it? Kind regards!
@@tom_photo it was part of the kit i bought back in 2016 which consisted of -
3 pieces accessory Set (black finish) for Fujifilm X10, X20, X30
Metal Lens Hood
Metal Lens Adapter with High Quality MC UV Filter
Lens Cap for Fujifilm X10, X20, X30
, unfortunately the UV filter has no writing on it so i cant give the exact size.
@@ggwildlife Hi! Thanks a lot for this info!
It's 40mm .@@ggwildlife
@@janbroekema Thanks, Jan!
The filter size is 40mm. This is an odd size. 40.5mm is the common size. I have a 40mm to 40.5mm step-up ring but it's not that great.
I had the original X10 (with the "orbs" problem), the X20, and still have my X30. I use it for quick-and-dirty shooting such as eBay listings. I'm also looking into its use for digiscoping.
Hi! Thanks very much for sharing. You have the entire series of the Fuji X cameras - that's quite amazing. Best of luck to you!
The filter I finally found for my X10 was: Fotasy 39mm Nano Multi-Resistant-Coated 16 Layer MC Super Slim HD UV Filter It fits beautifully and is very slim so the cap also fits. Found it on Amazon UK.
Hi! Thank you for this interesting information. Many people report that 40mm filters work with this lens. In your case 39mm worked well. I think this goes to show that it depends on the manufacturer. This is surprising but good to know. Kind regards!
Lens hood model is LH-X10
Hi! Thank you very much, indeed!
@@tom_photo welcome
cons - with the hood screwed in, camera doesn't fit original case :)
There may be filters for 16mm camera lenses that could fit. Well, you've managed to keep dust off your sensor...
Hi! Thanks. This lens in interesting because different people have managed to use different size filter threads with this lens (depending on the manufacturer) and this continues to be a mystery to me. Cheers!
I've been dabbling with the x10 x20 x30 on and off for the past 2 yrs now. Mostly tempted to sell them for profit. However, I think the sweet spot is the x20. I believe the x10 RAWs do hit different, but with the X20, I can use classic negative on capture one and treat it like a new Xtrans image. X30 is probably the best among them with the evf but comes with a price of weight and it doesn't look as great as the x10 and x20.
Hi! Thanks for your feedback. The interesting thing about these cameras is that their prices seem to be going up. They are becoming collectors' items. I particularly like the X10 because of its EXR (th-cam.com/video/oNiBvA6dZx4/w-d-xo.html). Kind regards!
@@tom_photo between the X10 colors vs the X30. I will take that X10 any day. That EXR sensor is like cheating. Sad they let it go.
Prices are going high for these small, capable cameras. I feel this market is ripe for the taking. A man can dream of an x40 with a in sensor xtrans V.
If Pentax made the 17 a digital camera, I would have happily sold all my gear and move to that.
@@nikolaialexis5107 Hi! This is true. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!
