Cullen is the man. Surely the most naturally gifted ball in hand runner there was. He had it all, pace, power and the finish. No one could have finished some of the moves he made. he wasnt just a link in the chain like some players, he was the sting in the tail. Our AB wingers are very good finishers now, but Cullen had Fullback hands, a centres powerful running line and a sevens player confidence all in one.
dude that video you put together was top class!!! Although English, I flippin' love the NZ team, and they were pretty much unstoppable during their prime years.. I just hope they can get the same devastating strength back that we know they have got... many thanks vamospumasvamos!!
th-cam.com/video/p6OWNz66D5c/w-d-xo.html video quality is very questionable but the nostalgia of the coupling with the songs we know and love more than make up for it.
Awesome. Yeah I'd love to learn and play. I played american football in school and loved the fast running and dodging most. Rugby seems like a lot of fun nonstop.
Kirwan!!! that try just said everything about that team and how we won that world cup. No compromise, no opting for drop goals, just out classing all opposition. Still waiting for it to happen again thou ;)
i agree, but the reason it struggle is because of football. football is basically came out of early rugby. americans decided to use the forward pass and use pads to prevent death. aussies decided to keep laterals and ban certain hits instead of using pads to prevent death. at this point i think both can thrive here if the timing is right.
The All Blacks are to Rugby what the Brazilian's are to Soccer - natural talent. Truly awesome to watch running rugby at it's greatest! Worlds #1 team (always ranked #1 on the IRB - always, true consistency).
how could i resist- the emotions that i have stirred up with you backblock illiterate windowlickers is absolute gold keep them coming girls they keep me going on a quiet day
WOW! Thanks for bringing back the memories. Cullen, Kirwan, Lomu, Wilson, man it brings a tear to the eye. Screw professionalism, it ruins the sport, bring back the pride and passion which Richie McCaw posses, bring back pride in the jersey - Go the F**KEN ALL BLACKS!
All Blacks 28 - Australia 24. They are again the kings. Let's praise the greatest team ever. All Blacks forever, forever victory, Rugby forvever, Rugby is life, life is rugby. Ever since I am young I witness their glory, in 1987 with Kirwan, Kirk, Fox, Whetton Brothers, Fitzpatrick, and the best is still to come. God bless you all, have a nice day, Congrats paybakbtch, maybe see you in Auckland in 2011. Love you take care!!
Those tries were so awesome! john kirwan was such a legend and i think that try against italy was the greatest ever in rugby! it was awesome to see jonah in his finest hour against england! I will never forget those tries by cully man he could step!
I love the two tries by Cullen against Scotland, where he stepped half the team, the bench, the entire squad of cheerleaders and three of the ushers in the stand. Horrible defense on the first one, but Cullen was a freak anyway.
Cullen would have been undeniably the biggest name in Rugby had he not had a man monster of a team mate in Lomu. Poetry in motion is exactly what he was. Beauty and the beast, they were.
I remember I drove through a defence line who were clinging to me while I pushed through to the try line and scored the best try of my life, and that was only about 3 hours ago
rugby is a great game. i play on my high school's team. one thing i've noticed is that when a try is scored the person who has scored it does not celebrate like hockey or soccer players.
I have never seen a Rugby game before or played it, but from what I can tell, that number 11 and 15 are some big time scorers. Rugby looks pretty interesting. : D
Why'd you change the song??? The song that was on there like a year ago fitted this vid perfectly now i don't even want to watch it... But at least you got another like and view after a year.
@TBCman99 the main downside to american football is the fact that it's 4 minutes of planning, 5-20 seconds of playing done about five or six times and then an advert for three or so hours
... players don't just tackle randomly. Some very complex plays are drawn out by coaches and quaterbacks to get the ball to an open wide receiver. Then it is the receiver's job to either renew a first down or score a touchdown. They also have blockers who run beside the receiver and prevent the defense from sacking the receiver. Then there are also blockers that prevent defense from getting at the QB when he has the ball. So don't hating on either sport. Both are damn good sports! :)
i think a big difference is the amount of coaching and planned moves coz NFL has lots of stops, the coach can call the shots. because the re start of play is fixed-scrimmage? the plays can be planned. In rugby the tactics are (stil set by the coach) often improvised through necessity. both games involve running round tackling people, but in rugby every one on the team has to do it, whilst in NFL only 1/4 of the team do. So NFL players can be specialized (esp when you factor fitness
Anttention any kiwi :) I am south african living in UK. I listen to talk sport alot, but they only care about football. What kinda talk radio do you guys have there for rugby matches? what station, presenter etc, I want to listen online. any help appreciated.
@GuerillaGanja out of the 40 man squad brought to the home nations; 2 of them weren't born in New Zealand; neither of them arrived in NZ before the age of 18.
I'll let you into a little secret. They probably aren't as big and fast as American football players, but they have more stamina -- more aerobic fitness. They are different types of game that require a different type of training.
I THINK he got dropped in 1993 when the Lions toured NZ ... it was a pretty controversial move by the selectors. He made a brief comeback in 1994 but then departed ...

Hay That song is called MY FAVOURITE GAME by the Cardigans

The last try by Cullen in Wellington I think is the greatest solo try ever.

th-cam.com/video/p6OWNz66D5c/w-d-xo.html video quality is very questionable but the nostalgia of the coupling with the songs we know and love more than make up for it.
that's right, i got friends here from Auckland, Napier, New Plymouth, Christchurch, It's a genuine pleasure to know all these folks.
Awesome lot of tries, looking forward to quad nations next year.
Glad you showed the best full back NZs ever had, Christian Cullen
LOL great trip down memory lane!
Thanks Vamos!
Lomu, Kirwan, Cullen, Wilson, Umaga...
Are all an honour to watch.
Pure gold, they don't make 'em like this anymore.
Awesome. Yeah I'd love to learn and play. I played american football in school and loved the fast running and dodging most. Rugby seems like a lot of fun nonstop.

i love watching this vid before i play.
Gets me pumped!
great clips! great songs and that number 14 is a beast!
i would rather watch replays of this period of rugby, than the stop-start, mistake filled, defence orientated rugby you see at the moment.
i agree, but the reason it struggle is because of football. football is basically came out of early rugby. americans decided to use the forward pass and use pads to prevent death. aussies decided to keep laterals and ban certain hits instead of using pads to prevent death. at this point i think both can thrive here if the timing is right.

when the All blacks are in free flow like this they are a joy to watch thats from an England supporter and Rugby fan
how could i resist- the emotions that i have stirred up with you backblock illiterate windowlickers is absolute gold keep them coming girls they keep me going on a quiet day
Beautiful Rugby. Always a pleasure watching the All Blacks. I think us English need could use a bit more of your dynamism in our gameplay. Respect. x

this just shows how that expansive play has been a hallmark of the All Blacks for years. How good were some of those????
Those tries were so awesome! john kirwan was such a legend and i think that try against italy was the greatest ever in rugby! it was awesome to see jonah in his finest hour against england! I will never forget those tries by cully man he could step!
Awesome clips, shame about the audioswap (I just muted it).
Cullen was awesome. definitely one of the greats of all time.
Jeff Wilson chip-and-chase try vs. the Boks made me fall in love with this sport. What a team \o/
that second to last try is amazing!
gods work it seems like.
I love the two tries by Cullen against Scotland, where he stepped half the team, the bench, the entire squad of cheerleaders and three of the ushers in the stand.
Horrible defense on the first one, but Cullen was a freak anyway.
Great video!!! Really nice tries!
Thanks!!!
love & respect to the Blacks and NZ from the US, stay strong!
Best of luck All Blacks for today in Brisbane. I live in Dubai, the re is a huge New Zealander community here so best wishes
I agree with Snoweyy92, in this video Number 11 is Jonah Lomu. These tries were all before Rokoco's time.
One Of My Favorite Blacks Videos!
A waay sicker rugby compilation
search: ultimate rugby compilation
thank you man... great video
Cullen the best of the lot!! Could watch his tries all day...
Wish we had this team now!!! bring them back
Cullen would have been undeniably the biggest name in Rugby had he not had a man monster of a team mate in Lomu. Poetry in motion is exactly what he was. Beauty and the beast, they were.
I wish those glory days are back for All Blacks. Awesome squad back then. Especially Wilson and Cullen.
johns try is best ive ever seen what a sporting moment
Fantastic well done and thanks....
I remember I drove through a defence line who were clinging to me while I pushed through to the try line and scored the best try of my life, and that was only about 3 hours ago
I don't know much about Rugby- but I know those tries were insane!!
christian easily the best player in rugby history.
i wasnt into rugby till i saw this video. these guys are incredible athletes. i wish i could talk rugby but i dont no squat...
rugby is a great game. i play on my high school's team.

I have never seen a Rugby game before or played it, but from what I can tell, that number 11 and 15 are some big time scorers. Rugby looks pretty interesting. : D
One word: Cullen
All of those tries are class, especially Zinzans off the switch then inside ball off the scrum.
love the vision of the first guy who takes it off the kick. Reminds me of Devon Hester :P
the name of the song is the offspring-the kids aren't alright
best era, team of absolute legends
Why'd you change the song??? The song that was on there like a year ago fitted this vid perfectly now i don't even want to watch it... But at least you got another like and view after a year.
this is the best song to go with rugby
Can you post the music you used on the original track before it was messed with? This was my FAVE rugby video due to footage and music selection.
good vid and those tries were amazing
Everytime this video gets a view an aussie bloke crys.
Seriously, Can you post the songs you used with this video? It is the best vid ever- footage plus music choice. I am so sad that they messed it up.
NZ have had some great players over the years but I've not seen a better or more exciting one than Christian Cullen! The man's was pure class.
@TBCman99 the main downside to american football is the fact that it's 4 minutes of planning, 5-20 seconds of playing done about five or six times and then an advert for three or so hours
Hell Yeah The Are! When is it?? :D
Cullen is an absolute genius with a rugby ball in hand....
Sort of dominated the scene then . Great stuff, deserves the 5 stars- I'mm an ireland fan.
got the game still ABSOLUTE CLASSIC
No way man - some of their best tries were scored by Christian Cullen - that guy was pure genius...
@oiarrais if you read it he states that youtube made him change the audio so he obviously picked something that youtube wouldnt care about
The Cullen bits are the best, something about the way he played....
the team which had me play rugby and become good at it!
the second song is "the kids arent allright" and its by the offspring
... players don't just tackle randomly. You were me All Black hero till Sean came along. Then Lomu? Can not express enough!!!
What name of this song? the initiation.
Zinzan Brooke's try at 2.43 - amazing handling. Don't blink!
awesome clip champ!!
umaga's set up against argentina was just absolutely beastly!
very nice! best tries with good music
DAMN!.. I have newly found respect for Rugby now.
I just wish we had an American Rugby team... I'd join in heartbeat!
The second song is "The Kids Aren't Alright" by The Offspring.

thank you for that
Shoulder tackle is not allowed in Union Rugby. Grabbing is affective as it slows down the runner/stop their momentum.
the name of the first song is I get not down of Chumbawamba
amazing video !!!
Hopefully more to come this weekend in the Tri Nations decider...
jonah lomu that man is my hero ... watching this man play rugby is brilliant
Anttention any kiwi :)
I am south african living in UK. I listen to talk sport alot, but they only care about football. What kinda talk radio do you guys have there for rugby matches? what station, presenter etc, I want to listen online.
any help appreciated.
That's great 7-0 for the All Blacks, I like that start. I feel New Zealander when I see this. God bless New Zealand!

great video, cheers.
Great video!
gosh, wow. I wonder when I'll b able 2 play lik that! I'm in rugby now as a lock and its so difficult!
I THINK he got dropped in 1993 when the Lions toured NZ ... it was a pretty controversial move by the selectors. He made a brief comeback in 1994 but then departed ...
thanks mate
What happened to the other song that was played with this video? DMX - Up in here
@Bananaakeyboard how fast are you, time for 60m and how is your acceleration
I just miss the flair the All black used to play with....it all seems so safe now. And oh to have a half-back like Cullen again!
It is New Zealand's All Blacks. The greatest rugby team ever.
great vid, awesome tries
i agree, hes's so awesome!
Cuantos buenos tries nos han hecho y que bueno que hemos aprendido.... Vamos Pumas!!
This is my favorite play.
