    CORRECTION: In London, Long Acre is a street not a square.

      Another correction: Only the south part of the triangle is known as Times Square, the northern triangle is Duffy Square.

    I hope to visit NYC next year and have been watching all of your videos. They are really great, straight forward and to the point. I wish you would do a video or two about how to navigate the subways and trains if your are moderately handicapped.

    • @JimAllen-Persona
      @JimAllen-Persona ปีที่แล้ว

      How moderate? It’s a decent amount of walking and the elevators, if they are working, aren’t always the cleanest or the safest. I’m not saying this to dissuade you… just as one “moderately” handicapped person to another… plan out your routes and check the web for info. There are always cabs if you need them… just stay away from the pedi-cabs because they’re outrageously expensive. There’s also Uber/Lyft/etc. Disregard a lot of what you see in the news about the subway, just be aware of your surroundings and if it’s after midnight and you’re not in midtown or the theatre district…spring for the cab. I joke that I don’t take the subway because I feel like the wounded gazelle in the pride lands. Avoid rush hour.I used to take the subway/trains all the time..or just walk it. Stay to the right on escalators because people run up them… I used to be that person. One more thing… which I mention every time. Don’t think that just because Manhattan Island is small, it’s quick to get around… even by subway. If you’re in the theatre district and want to go to the financial district, figure at least 20-30 min.

      Pro tip : look into NYC zoning codes in Urban Planning, especially the newly pedestrianised 7th Street ( i guess )

    • @UrbanCaffeine
      @UrbanCaffeine  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mynotebook3853 Thanks! IKR, I can't believe how much we've grown. Thanks for the tip! I'll make sure to look on NYC zoning. I saw an article about how they want to change up 5th Ave to expand for pedestrians and buses and leave just one lane for vehicles. Don't know how that will happen. LOL. As for the maps, I use Adobe Illustrator to draw them. It was a lot of upfront work to make my own maps, but now I reuse them all the time.

    Theeeaaaa. My office used to be in Times Square.
    The first time I visited NYC and Times Square, I never would have thought that I'd go to work in Times Square.
    Apparently, the 42nd Street Times Square station is the busiest subway station (at least before covid).
    Haha the UWS Thea made an appearance in this video again.
    They also say millionaires live in UWS and billionaires live in UES.
    6:33 Thanks for coming to Times Square to get footage. I saw the Snake Eyes banner.
    Too bad, I wish that it would have been a hit because I'm a fan of Henry Golding

    Video suggestion for you, Thea.
    As some may refer KoreaTown in NYC as the Times Square of Korea.
    Would you like to make a video about it?
    I couldn't find any TH-cam video which talks about KoreaTown in depth.
    I found an article here and there but they were from a few years ago.
    It sounds like a lot has changed in KoreaTown even before covid.
    Now the restaurants there are usually big chain.
    I'd love to see you making a video about KoreaTown.

    • @UrbanCaffeine
      @UrbanCaffeine  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's interesting some they consider K-town as the Times Square of Korea. I'll consider it. I haven't been to Koreatown in awhile since the pandemic. I've been meaning to go to get some Korean BBQ.

    The original facade of Times Tower isn’t unrecognizable because of the billboard’s that were added in the 90s, it’s because they completely trashed, and massacred the facade and replaced it in the 60s where it looked like a concrete pillar, now they’re replacing the 2nd facade of the building to look more modern because it was deteriorating and unkept, honestly just restore the original facade, it was beautiful and many buildings have had this treatment.
