So underrated. I think SCV is always the cleanest. I think Paul Rennick has a SCV bot farm where he grows his drummers to be so f'N tight. However, the last 4 years I've been more excited about Bluecoats. I just like their vibe much better. Plus they make really hard patterns look so easy and they are just fucking cool!
SCV essentially does have a bot farm in the form of Troopers. If you watch the 2016 Semis lot for Troopers battery, that is not a 14th place drumline. They are taught by former Rennick students and staff by UNT (where the Rennicks reside and work). A lot of the students from that line went to SCV for the 2017 Season and it's essentially the farm system for Vanguard.
@@daintersc4 Yeah though i don't think it necessarily has a lot to do with the staff. It's kind of a mix between who is staffing and who is on the line.
Travion Crutcher the vocal they say is "Joe Woodie" which is them calling out one of the bluecoats staff members. Joe marched bluecoats and I'm pretty sure they added that vocal into every show since he became a staff member
Travion Crutcher J-J-J-J-Joe Joe Joe Joe Woodie and Tom. Tom being Tom Gasparinni. Marched coats '12-'13 and now is also an battery instructor for Bluecoats. Wonder what Drew Guy has been up to. I know he was (is?) with academy for a bit. I'm very surprised to not see him in Bluecoats staff.
Reese Fleming honestly bro I have no idea what I was thinking when I wrote this 7 months ago.. I might have been commenting on the wrong video cause I just watched it back a couple times and this whole line is clean AF the whole way through LOL.. wtf was I thinking 🤔 😂
I’d love to meet up for a lesson sometime so we can fix what didn’t cut as well as it could have, and possibly get some notes on how to act less douchey. :)
I just want everyone to know that I do a cool stick trick at 5:49...
i see your stick homie :( lol
Don't worry, I saw it in the IP video
Kyle Tsuchiya no you didn’t. homeboy in the way so it wasn’t real. sorry😤
Amazing thing about Bluecoats battery is that you can hear the hornline playing the melody just from hearing the drums.
I feel like this line (2017*) doesn't get the love it deserves. Meaty feature, headbanger of a book. Just awesome.

Danny Noble Well there you go.
So many of them are from UNT that they can literally rehearse all year if they want.

Dante Noble lets not forget about SCVC with the same amount of old UNT and rennick students that just moved to TN For MCDC. they got like 3 “farms”
5 years later and those beats are still tasty as hell.

What’s the vocal at 1:55? Are they singing a song? If so what is it?

Ivan Gonzalez Ha! Thanks man

I think Drew didn't want to be part of the Bluecoats anymore due to some underlying issues, although I forget exactly what.
Ivan Gonzalez we are talking about what the the tech sings with the crowd
Tf is that green thing and banana in the back.
Kameryn Sabino It's the taliban.
Gumby. That’s it’s name
That would be my buddy Dylan Catlin.
That's me in the banana.
They're just chillin. I watch these at least a few times a year
anybody else notice the guy in the banana costume in the backround?
Gumby seems to outshine me everywhere.
@@dylancatlin1329 no prob bro
5:60 gumby
Can someone explain why there is a Gumby there?
It's ISIS
Dylan would wear a gumby suit to finals lots...
Why is there always a drum set player
Miles Keaton the drumset player is Roger Carter who is one of the head instructors with the Bluecoats, explaining why he's always there 👍
Snare drummer in the purple shirt looks at nothing but the ground....
Well I'll be damned, a black Asian ...

QUAD LINE !!! YOU ARE... the WEAKEST LINK
incorrect,
Reese Fleming honestly bro I have no idea what I was thinking when I wrote this 7 months ago.. I might have been commenting on the wrong video cause I just watched it back a couple times and this whole line is clean AF the whole way through LOL.. wtf was I thinking 🤔 😂
kollizions ttv i’m glad you can’t to senses
They play dirty for a while then act douchey for the remainder...became real unwatchable in the past few years
Thelma Scott I see what you mean
I’d love to meet up for a lesson sometime so we can fix what didn’t cut as well as it could have, and possibly get some notes on how to act less douchey. :)
I'd love to see you play what you call "clean." Roger's even said he wants a line to groove over playing "clean." That's such an overrated sound.
Dylan Catlin Right. And SCV intentionally lost world champs this year too. Grow up kid
Nice burn. Your line way WAY cleaner and played WAY harder book than say...Crown 2013.
