I have a truck bed cover but it has no t-slots on the sides. Is it possible to mount the Yakima universal tracks on the cover and then mount the OutpostHD rack system? I really like this rack system. The cover I use is a Tessera4x4 truck bed cover.
Have you tested fitment with the bak revolver x4 tslot rails?
Is there any reason not to put the front rack over the canister?
Does the overhaul HD allow only for the retrax type tonneau covers that roll up. I would like a folding one that takes up less space but it seems as if your mounting options are limited even though your crossbars are long enough to allow for this extra 2-4 inches of width needed. Options are really nice to have and truck owners are big into options.
@Cory Rudd, My new to me truck came with a folding tonneau cover so I tried to find a rack or DIY way to see if it will work with the Overhaul HD. Unfortunately Overhaul only works with Retrax and Pace retractable roll up covers. So I might have to sell this and get the Retrax to make it work with the Overhaul.
Is there a separate tower kit for the cover or is the original outpost tower kit compatible?

Not at this time. Currently we only fit the Retrax XR series of covers , we are lookin to fit other covers in the future.
I would also like one that fits with a rollup
Is this rack also compatible with Truck Covers USA American Rack System (Very similar tonneau cover with Yakima tracks pre-installed)?

We have only tested and approved the use of the Tonneau Kit 1 with the Retrack XR series covers at this time. We are working to validate the fit on other covers and hope to have additional covers approved soon
do the locks come with the rack?
None of the base racks do but some of the bike racks, ski racks and the like come with them. All 24 of of our various lock cores are interchangeable, thus if you buy a set of them for your base rack and then buy an accesory rack that has a different key code you can do a straight swap with us by sending the cores to us. We will then send back the same # of them in the code you specify. It's called SKS, or Same Key System
compatible with diamondback HD or SE bed covers?
Currently it only fits the Retrax XR series, the Pace Edwards Untragroove, and the Ford Embark covers.
I bought everything three months ago, but I can’t buy this tonneau kit 1 now. When will you get it? Or other stores still have stock? I can pay the extra postage...thank you

They are currently backordered. I've ordered a set on June 29th. I've been told to expect them mid to late August. I'm hoping they arrive early as I'm heading out in mid-August for a camping trip.
Unfortunately we are not looking to have these in stock until early September.
this video is so basic and does not help all! the kit is expensive may be you could make a good video!!
What about the problem in this video th-cam.com/video/tXmKi5SfXHk/w-d-xo.html the T bolts aren’t long enough in the rail to distribute the weight ...just spend 3K on a Retrax bed cover and Yakima rack
seems like some shitty engineering to me , what’s your solution this video sure doesn’t help

I passed your question along to the product manager, here is his response;
Unfortunately it is possible to cause this type of damage during installation of the hardware into the slot in the Retrax cover if tightened higher than the recommended torque of 10 Nm. Understanding that not all consumers have a torque wrench available, we have since verified that it is safe to install the hardware anywhere in the range of 6-10 Nm. Hopefully this allows for consumers to tighten the hardware without damage to the slot. We are also evaluating additional design changes to decrease the chance of this type of overtightening damage. If damage has occurred, please contact Retrax to inquire about their warranty and replacement parts.

Yakima Racks thanks for the reply I’m installing today and will only tighten until it’s not sliding. The best idea I have is to have each set of t bolts connected together in a long t with the two bolt attached ...now you have about 12 in of surface area pulling up instead of 1 in

Aaron Markham no problem the setup is nice I was careful to slowly tighten bolts until they don’t slide , I also have the side bars to the HD rack and I felt it makes everything stronger
Sort of like toilet bolts ...tighten until solid ...too much and it cracks.
Bottom line stoked with both rack and bed cover good luck🤙🏽
