As of this point, I have recently finished my Messerschmitt Me-262 build, and just for realism's sake I added flaps. And I was very suprised that it worked. I mean the plane got a bit too realistic, it sometimes loses engine power randomly, which I feel like is realistic for a plane that is powered by two jet engines that are rated for 24 hours of flight
I fly irl as well (private pilot single engine & hanggliders). I'm building a constellation inspired aircraft in Stormworks and measured blocks out according to some reference images, and to my surprise it all balanced out very nicely, center of mass was right in the middle of the wings, the very first flight was almost perfectly trimmed without modification
Not what i was looking for but very well done none the less. Im hoping to find why control surfaces flap like crazy when flying... So if you happen to know or i missed it while listening in the back ground, please let me know. Its been a nightmare for years in this game.
@@CaptainCockerels Especially flaps on low settings provide a lot. I have an airliner with 6 flaps segments in total and during takoff I get quite noticable negative AOA.
A nose heavy plane flies poorly, a tail heavy plane flies once.
Truth

Man, YOU ARE DEDICATED! I LOVE your dedication!

Thanks. I was having some issues trying to get a plane working. I'm going to go back and give some of this a try now.
building an f35/f22 inspired masterpiece atm and this is just what i needed.
Haha great idea to put the nlg steering through the gyro XD

Reduce gyro sensitivity
Do blocks really provide lift in SW???
Wing segments. And control surfaces do. You can just use control surfaces and thrust. And the wings are essentially for show
