We know Zangetsu can use Cero Oscuras because that's the basis for the Getsuga Tensho used by Tensa Zangetsu, which was first demonstrated by Zangetsu. So it wasn't that Zangetsu couldn't have used a Cero Oscuras against Ulquiorra, there was just no need. What a power move. Also, Zangetsu is petty AF.
@@devonm042690 I'm not sure that the one fighting was really zangetsu, I still think that the one fighting was Ichigo, but with only the parts of his soul that were hollow defining his personality, so similar to Zangetsu but not literal Zangetsu, after all Zangetsu has been a constant mirror image of Ichigo, and we only see Zangetsu in this form after we see Ichigo in this form, also zangetsu does talk even if its crazy psycho talk when he talked over previously, Ichigo in this form did not, it was more similar in behavior to the berserker state he took while zangetsu and he fought in his inner world, and when he finally talked it was not zangetsu but Ichigo, in a clearly trance like state who talked, so IMHO, this was Ichigo, not zangetsu taking control, it is different to when zangetsu takes control.

Ulquiorra represented the aspect of death that is emptiness. He felt nothing inside and thus nothing else mattered, this explains his nihilistic outlook on life. But when Orihime came into his life, it introduced the concept of a "heart", something that ties and connects people to one another. Fighting with Ichigo gave him a glimpse of hope and ideals, because Ichigo had no chance of winning but he still had hope, and he wouldn't sacrifice his principals to do it. That along with learning about connections from Orihime began to change his perspective.
The Hollow was in full control here and the only input Ichigo had was to protect Orihime, everyone else was considered an enemy. Ichigo's Hollow is kind of overpowered, based on the fact that it's both powerful and has instant regeneration, even if Ulquiorra hit him he would have likely healed it and counter attacked.

It happened when he got a literal hollow hole blasted trough the chest too.
There is a special chapter released called "Not be but be" that tells Ulquiorra's backstory. You can find it easy in the internet, probably it won't be released in animation ever, so you can read with no problem.
It’s like Ichigo is on autopilot when his hollow fully takes over. There is still a part of him in there, but not enough to really keep him sane. The hollow just runs on pure instinct.

Let's say that against the vizards was a full imperfect hollowification, while here was a full perfect hollowification, Ichigo was dead, and death is asociated with hollow; there is another reason as well, but it will be a spoiler. The fandom call this form vasto lorde Ichigo. And there can be some reason to this, but i will explain later.
TBH, this form is not called anything, it has no real official name. If anything, it maybe somekind of botched pseudo-resurreccion considering that Tosen did resurreccion and Kubo confirmed that visored, Ichigo included, could do too.

Besides the note someone added about censorship of uryu's arm. When Hollow Ichigo threw that huge piece of rock at Ulqiuorra, that was actually him throwing his arm that he sliced off at him.
In the early episodes there is a conversation about the king and the horse. And if he were to die then the hollow would be in control. This is White Ichigo in control. And just like the Byakuya fight, white is more intense than Ichigo.
I love how it's not anger or frustration or anything like that, but the simple desire to protect someone that turns Ichigo in the single scariest thing we see in this entire series.
yes ulquiorra is a good character, however i do not like how some people ship ulquiorra with orihime, it is straight up trash, but i am glad that ichigo and orihime are safe.
Why would it be trash though, it makes perfect sense? Plus Ulquiorra having feelings for Orihime is actually canon, although it doesn't seem to go both ways.

There is one fanfic where they made that ship make some sense, but it was developed after Ichigo got the hots for other girl. Not Rukia, thankfully, Ichiruki is ultra re cursed ship, it was Nelliel(adult). The only thing that made the ships bareable was that it was not a romance fanfic but a battle fanfic, funniest thing is that instead of reforming Ulquiiorra or having him in a gigai or some shit, Orihime goes hollow and then arrancar to be with him, which is IMHO, the superior choice.
Confirmed once again, "Kurosaki-kun" is the strongest power in the show🗿 Definitely a brutal fight but with a bittersweet ending, one of the most iconics in Bleach. I respect Ichigo's resolve to end it in a fair way, like it was with Grimmjow, but if Ulquiorra hadn't reach his limit, that was bad for him, since he couldn't even against R1 before. That said, Ishida's braveness and the team-up of the trio against Ruddbornn deserve a moment of appreciation too.
Ichigo hollow is human size like ulquiorra. Which means ichigos hollow is a vasta lor de, the hollow level of soul reaper captan. Also ulquiorras cero is advanced that’s why its green and not read. Ichigos is red and yet it beats ulquiorras. That means ichigos hollow has more potential than ulquiorra does.
It's an interesting case of dramatic irony when Ulquiorra argues in his own mind that it should be impossible for Ichigo to unleash a Cero, but we know it's not impossible because Shinji used a Cero against Grimmjow.
“Not be but be” is a special manga chapter you can find online. It has his backstory. If I recall correctly it wasn’t made by Kubo until well after the anime episode where he died was produced.
