The interesting thing about this fight is if to stop aizen Yamamoto and/or kyorako realesed their Bankai this battle would be over rather quickly assuming the hogyoku didn't have enough time to adapt their bankai but not destroying the fake kara kura town was also a goal here. I did wonder that if aizen did reach the royal palace how was he planning to deal with Squad zero? Because back than only Ichibe was a problem but since the anime showed squad zero getting a redemption this would probably be a problem for aizen.

In fact later in the manga Ichigo gets floored by a certain sternritter despite reiatsu getting a HUGE upgrade from his training and new power and yet he couldn't negate that hax. Because it would have destroyed way way more than just the Fake Karakura Town. His Bankai threatened the entire Soul Society, while obviously his Shikai is weaker, his Bankai was doing that passively and unintentionally.
