1:45 feels like that brief moment of calm when you're driving on the highway in a rainstorm and pass under a bridge
Well described!!!!
damn dude i totally get that
its like you dont like rainy days but for a second there you kinda missed the rain
Woah..
This one is the one it took for me to notice that the stars pulse with the bass
Thank youuu, I didn't see that before
Aye so there is overlap between the Jacob collier and unus annus audience
TF OMFG
not with the bass but with the kick
Jacob, dear Jacob,
please continue with this specific genre. It's beautiful and doesn't deserve to be an interlude only.
yes, please
Jacob has really opened my mind to music. I’ve been a bit of a gatekeeper for myself in previous years, saying something wasn’t “jazz” enough or “funk” enough for me. Now no doubt everything Jacob does is Jazzy and funkified but he broke down my expectations for musicians and opened my ears to every genre and type of music. I truly thank him for that.
Interviewer: What is music?
Yoyo Ma: Sound.
I pretty much only listen to classical, but he's enticed me to follow him much further afield. I don't like all of it, but I like much more of it than myself from before I'd tried his music would have anticipated.
Excellent and very honest comment 👍👏
For a second there I actually realized the solution to every problem in the cosmos... but then the downbeat came back.
Immortal Blasian 😭💯💯💯
Same with me lol this (Jacobs) actually saved me, but also caused so much pain
Its 42
Knowledge I can't study with
a tip: watch movies on Flixzone. Been using them for watching lots of of movies these days.
He's making and opening up so many new levels / rivers / avenues for all musicians now-- showing us all what's possible and they can now venture out and form new streams. He's almost like a massive reference point in the giant web of sound and music and now musicians will be able to tie back to him because he's foundationally achieved a specific spot in the web.
He’s also dancing around those avenues.
He’s not from this planet.
Me: Where are the downbeats?
Jacob: They had somewhere else to be.
Gone fishing
Hey Mr. Dunkley, cool soundscapes.
this is in 4/4 is it not?
The downbeats fled the scene when Jacob opened up Logic and clicked New Project
Jacob never misses a beat! Oh wait...
We NEED a logic breakdown of this one chief

@CasualDude Nobody, he learned electronic music production, it isn’t very hard to learn on logic
@CasualDude There actually isn’t as much complicated sound design in here as you would think :) Most of the crazy production aspects here are actually real world objects and sounds in which he used tactics to manipulate them with effects and whatnot. What isn’t a real sound in this song is made with pretty simple sound design. He did reverse and pitch/formant shift stuff but that’s all pretty easy to figure out.
On top of this he did say that this song was years in the making so I don’t at all doubt that he used that time to figure out electronic production.
This is by far the most surreal thing I've ever heard.
I get that we're all supposed to talk about how skilled this man is and how crazy talented he is, but right now all I can think about is the feeling intended from this piece and how it could never be more confident in it's presence.
Astounding, jacob creates music such a resonant pulse and breath that he practically creates a new form of life with his music
if you’re wondering how he gets a lot of that “pulse” kind of feel i would argue it’s a lot of his cool use of sidechain
I thought for a second that you said ‘Jacob creates magic’ which is pretty close anyways
So this is what butterflies in belly feels like!!! Sooo gooodd!!
This is eerily beautiful and perfectly encapsulates the feeling of having butterflies in your stomach
Jacob and sungazer would be amazing
bruh I genuinely thought that drumfill was Shawn for a sec
I would pay my entire life savings to see that collab.
Granted my entire life savings is about... 10 pence?
i need it now
BRO
Jacob Collier needs to make an entire Vaporwave album
It's a genuinely interesting genre to me....and Jacob would do it justice.
Or.....how about a Jacob Collier, Adam Neely, Ben Levin vaporwave collab!?!
This is the soundscape you're kicked into when you get into a euphoric trance. Or better yet, this is the soundscape that'll kick you into one.
I honestly felt like I was high
Friggin yeah man, Jacob's the man. I feel like you're great musician as well mister 🤔.
@@hanzobuzen3688 lol delete this
🎹
Sounds like Jacob started listening to Flotus
I could only imagine him at low end theory
Definitely some Flylo-level sidechaining in there
damn I didn't know Melania made music I'll have to check her out
Sounds like Jacob straight up absorbed Flotus
I forgot how amazing this album is haven’t listened to the full thing in a long time! My mind just went completely blank when listening to this
this is my favorite song
This song gives me butterflies
This is a trance
Jacob doesn't just create music, he creates entities and emotions (just like scales and chords)
(Yardy know the deal, if you saw the last few like this comment)
Serendipity prepared me for this years ago lol.
ahahahaha yes, I was confused yet amazed
I was thinking the exact same thing
Serendipity is scarier than this song IMO
I have yet to see it! Very cool and amazed how I keep seeing the movie “ serendipity “ I’ve only seen clips n I enjoy it already 😅 I can’t wait for the day I watch it. Great song as well. 😎.......
Yessiirrr
1:37 crunchy.
soooo good!!!😍💝
BEST music to listen to when stoned
Every generation has these towering figures who redefine our relationship with music, art, film, writing. Jacob is such a figure.
I need to call in for work tomorrow! Busy listening to Jacob Collier!
This song feels like either the butterflies you feel when you're with your crush, or the kind of butterflies you feel when you're in danger or you're about to die.
woah this track is one of the most technically impressive imo
this is a unique style and there should be more songs like this!
^coughs^ dubstep
The first song of Jacob, I dont just admire for his musical ability, but I really like to listen to, just because it sounds amazing!!!
Does this remind anyone of the Dreamer beatsketch? That was my favorite. Love this one
Especially when he does a sort of voice similar to dreamer in some parts
I wish he made dreamer a full song.
seth johnson me too
seth johnson i wish he made all the beatsketches a full song
seth johnson yeah same
That feeling when all your chakras finally align
this is absolutely in my opinion the best song of the album, it's pure innovation. Guys, welcome to the future
it's like i'm constantly going up but there's no way down
i'm scared of the height but i can't fall down so it's fine
your glitch effects are unparalleled
This is like a happy flying lotus track.
Jesus the foleys omfgg aaaaaaaaaha 💀😍
I’m just so 😧😧😧😍😍😍while listening to this album
best, most creative track on vol3
Listen with the headphones whilst reading the comments.. only a fraction people understand this is makes me cry
the perfectly incapsulates an emotion/feeling.
Best Song in the album
This gives me butterflies
to this day one of his best songs imo its subtle elegance
Snif snif, smells like "Close to you"
Every track on the album is amazing
The pulse is so irregular yet so strong
i heard all 5 singles and loved them all, then listened to the start of the album and was sorta dissapointed so i didnt have high hopes for this. then i heard the first 4 seconds- nevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindnevermindNEVERMINDNEVERMINDNEVERMINDNEVERMINDNEVERMIND
This song is so underrated
best song on the album
that little silence made me fly for a second I swear
this album is sooo unique
Some of those drum fills got that Louis Cole vibe 👌
I can't stop listening to this, this music is divine
Someone needs to hug the 5 people that dislike anything made by Mr collier
Didn't age so well haha. Even Jacob misses sometimes. When he hits tho...
Experimental pop for the masses. Should be the entry point for casual listeners to more leftward sounds in their daily mixes.
Made my brain fuzzy. I like that feeling
For any of you interested I posted a transcription of this song :)
I want to thank this song for introducing me to erin bentlage :)
Jacob continues to tear at the fabrics of music
the B section is actually sampling the ripping open of timespace itself
This song makes me drunk
i love this one
If you've made an album dedicated to your BeatSketch type stuff, I'd listen to it all day.
fav on the album atm 😍
this man i swear
if this was anyone but jacob I would question this more. but this makes perfect sense somehow
This is art.
JUST, WOW!! It's like you're writing on behalf of the universe!! I'd love to hear the philosophical explanation of this.
NEW FAVORITE JACOB COLLIER SONG.
The production though.
I come here to heal the pain of too many disappointing down beats
beautiful
this sounds like 2013
Close to you vibes 🔥
can’t wait for the logic breakdown session... ❤️
Parece que estou em outro planeta 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
He's so ahead of his time its scary. The DaVinci of modern music really.
FLUTTERBY
The little twinkles flare up on beat, amazing little detail!
The vocal at 1:08 reminds me of Ocean Wide Canyon Deep. Anyone else?
There is some song into your syncopation
THE VIBESSSSS ✨✨✨✨✨
Best theme of the album
I thought my ego was safe at first because Jacob’s genre was far from mine... this comes too close for my comfort 😂
Now this is some classic Jacob Collier shit.
*FlyLo intensifies*
so so so so so so beautiful
Jacob Collier needs to make an entire Vaporwave album
It's a genuinely interesting genre to me....and Jacob would do it justice.
Or.....how about a Jacob Collier, Adam Neely, Ben Levin vaporwave collab!?!
And Louis Cole!!
Maybe I'm getting too much into the lore but anyone else think that this is the voice of Djesse?
This song is so AWESOME
Blown away!
Your music is so creative, beautiful and complex at the same time! I am not sure about the heavy use of compressors/limiters on this new album, though. In my ears it`s too much pumping, too high levels, too «let us be louder than the competition!». One of the wonderful things about jazz is that dynamics and space are a natural part of the music and audio mix. I guess you have made a pop-sounding album this time? Not my piece of cake, unfortunately.
Sounds like something you’d hear off a Kimbra album.
I was actually thinking the same thing, was surprised didn’t have any part in this
Feels like I'm actually swimming
This is brilliant
sooooooooo soothing... love it
Anyone else getting proper Chemical Brothers vibes from this song? Love it!!! Amazing work as always Jacob :-).
These chords... is this guy creating new chords?
Hey there!
Electronic musicians, what genre of electronic music would you say this track is closest to? (Besides "Jacob Collier Electronic Music")
Thanks! : )
Definitely check out Flume's Hi This Is Flume mixtape, this song reminds me a lot of it. Genre-wise, I'm not sure, but check out PC Music, and artists like A.G. Cook and the late SOPHIE.
you are my definition of a genius
