Isaw the thing sucked down then the light came on then motor changed then the light went off. My light is not coming on at all so far. Im thinking the heat element is out.
I got one years ago, works well until the heat strip goes in it, then you can't buy the parts for it, and pulling the dam thing apart to put one in that was made for it is a pain. You would think the strips would be easy to get, but as I am in Australia it doesn't look like I can get them. About to throw this one out.
I bought mine used long ago and the sealer has never worked. However the hole where you can attach a hose for vacuum sealing jars does still work. I never thought about trying To replace the ceiling strip. When I bought it, the person sold me a second one that actually does seal but that means that I have 2 machines. Womp womp!
Just bought one at a garage sale this weekend for two bucks. Tickled pink

can i use smooth bags with this vacuum sealer or just embossed bags?
Augusto Zela Yes. Look up using regular bags in a food saver. U have to use a straw.
