Range is 6 - 7 octaves, he composes, writes does covers, this is a cover, he was due to sing it as a duet with his friend Denis, but Denis died b4 that cud happen. So this is an important connection for him. He is also into film making. Most talented , generous, humble young man. Who sees himself as ordinary, but blessed to hve his abilities. For which he is v grateful and has worked very hard for, and still does. Holds a Masters Degree in composition, several degrees in various genres. He sings all genres. Sooo much more to learn of him. I’ve wTched Dimash every day since discovering him on TH-cam on a Chinese show called I Am Singer, singing S O S age 22. I’ve travelled overseas to hear him in his three and a half hour concerts. I am 78 and from the U.K. incidentally, on the Chinese show, it got 600 million hits on the Chinese you tube called Wellbo, I believe. So we don’t know how many hits worldwide he gets. I would recommend Stranger from New Wave 2021 which is. very theatrical like a Game of Throne vibe and is in English.

There are a number of versions of Dimash singing this song, each different but all great. This particular version comes from the Dimash Digital Show put on during the pandemic after all in-person concerts were cancelled and he had to cut his Arnau Tour short. The song SOS comes from the famous 1978 Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania', which is well known in French-speaking countries, and is a pretty difficult song to sing. In 2017 Dimash received a wild card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant ever at 22 years old and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part in this competition. Although well-known and respected in his homeland Kazakhstan, few in China knew or heard about Dimash before, but with his first song, SOS, Dimash shocked the audience and captured the hearts of over 600 million of viewers overnight, and the rest is history as the saying goes.

Yes it is in French. Dimash has been on stage performing since 3yrs old. Range is 6 - 7 octaves, he composes, writes does covers, this is a cover, he was due to sing it as a duet with his friend Denis, but Denis died b4 that cud happen. So this is an important connection for him.
He is also into film making.
Most talented , generous, humble young man. Who sees himself as ordinary, but blessed to hve his abilities. For which he is v grateful and has worked very hard for, and still does. Holds a Masters Degree in composition, several degrees in various genres. He sings all genres.
Sooo much more to learn of him. Having already established himself in Kazakhstan, (his homeland) Belarus Russia and other surrounding countries, he has earned many many awards, hence the Chinese proffessional singers competition, invited him to take part. He came 2nd because foreigners were not allowed to win. That rule was changed the following year. It was the Chinese that spread the word across the world of his incredible talent. Hence we are privileged to be able to hear him. It would have happened anyway, but sooner rather than later is great from my point of view.

This is a French song from the rock opera "Starmania." Dimash is classically trained and began his music studies at five yrs. old. He now has a Ph.D. in music competition. He did do a lot of cover songs, mostly beginning with his appearance on a Chinese singing competition show The Singer 2017." I believe it was his first intro outside of the Slavic states. He is from Kazakhstan. He did a concert at the Barclay Center in New York in 2019, just before Covid restrictions were placed. He was offered a position at the opera house in Astana but refused it. He stated that he wanted to create his own music, combining classical, rock, and pop. He has a TH-cam channel with so much to choose from. It would be hard to say what to listen to next because everything he sings is beautiful, different, and mesmerizing. However, I suggest you might want to start with Olympico, Stranger, Your Love, and Sinfuk Passion. Igor Krutoy, a Russian composer, came out of retirement to compose music for Dimash after hearing him sing Sinful Passion. He takes cover songs and makes them his own. Like Adagio, All BY Myself, and The Show Must Go On. These songs he did on Singer 2017 and he was only 22 at that time. Thank you for your comments and genuine reaction...so refreshing. Watch his version of SOS from 2017. That will have more like over 60 million views, maybe over a 100 million views. This is the song that got him noticed by the world. He was in a singing competition in China and he blew everybody’s minds away. Overnight he had 60 million views to his performance And overnight, he needed security guards because he was mobbed at his hotel the next morning. That SOS is to me the purest version that he has rendered of this song. Every note is perfectly placed, and even the last note was like a flowering or something more to come. I’ve wTched Dimash every day since discovering him on TH-cam on a Chinese show called I Am Singer, singing S O S age 22. I’ve travelled overseas to hear him in his three and a half hour concerts. I am 78 and from the U.K. incidentally, on the Chinese show, it got 600 million hits on the Chinese you tube called Wellbo, I believe. So we don’t know how many hits worldwide he gets.
I would recommend Stranger from New Wave 2021 which is. very theatrical like a Game of Throne vibe and is in English.

But Dimash's notes are crystal. He has a performance with Super Vocal Boys called "Queen Medley" (which is in English and has that Rock edge).

Dimash is an independent artist. This is a big reason, imho, why he is virtually unknown in the USA. I discovered him this March myself (by chance). I was very upset he had a concert in the NYC in 2019, but I missed it because I didn’t know about him then, and I live nearby. 😢

Dimash has a vocal range of over 6 octaves, which is quite impressive; but that’s not what defines him. He sounds exquisite at any range, which is incredible in and of itself.
Besides, his voice has so many colors and tone to it, not mentioning his vocal dynamics. His voice is soaring only to express his intense emotions, whether it’s a cry for help (SOS), a yearning (Samaltau), or to express pain or loss (The Story of One Sky). Dimash, being a composer himself (“Unforgettable Day”- Ұмытылмас күн, The Story of One Sky, El Amor en Ti…), knows how the song he interprets must be delivered. Indeed, what I love about Dimash is that he does not use his vocal abilities to show off, but to serve the song: through his voice, he’s telling us a story.
In short, he’s not only a masterful vocalist - It’s precisely thanks to his mastery that Dimash is able to freely dive, and tap, into his emotions; but he’s also a great storyteller. What I love about him as well is the way he immerses himself in the songs he sings.
Also, please know that Dimash is indeed classically trained - he even declined a position as an opera singer when he was only 22, and has absolute pitch (a rare cognitive trait by the way) which was discovered when he was only 5 years old.

There is a young girl from Kazakhstan where Dimash is from that her blind audition for The voice Kids Ukraine 2017 has over 84 million views. She sings 'Stone Cold' by Demi Lovato. Here's the link below. The whole audition is 10:30 long mainly because they ask her to sing a second song as an encore. As far as I know this is the first tie any of these shows has asked for a second totally different song. She sings a Ukraininan song to them in Ukrainian. Did i mention she was just 10 years old? You are not far off. This is from a French Canadian rock opera called Starmania done in the 70's or 80's. This song is done by one of the major characters who is going through a major depression. Yes, Dimash was just learning English in 2017, but he still killed that song and I barely even notice the mispronounced parts because his voice and his energy is so enthralling. This particular version comes from the Dimash Digital Show put on during the pandemic after all in-person concerts were cancelled and he had to cut his Arnau Tour short. The song SOS comes from the famous 1978 Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania', which is well known in French-speaking countries, and is a pretty difficult song to sing. In 2017 Dimash received a wild card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant ever at 22 years old and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part in this competition. Although well-known and respected in his homeland Kazakhstan, few in China knew or heard about Dimash before, but with his first song, SOS, Dimash shocked the audience and captured the hearts of over 600 million of viewers overnight, and the rest is history as the saying goes.
