Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He is a twenty-nine year old multi-faceted artist with a soul of a thousand years, who hails from Kazakhstan. He sings in 16 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). Dimash is considered the greatest vocalist in the world. He is from Kazakhstan and has a 7+ octave range. He began his classical/operatic vcal training at age 5 along with instrumental training. He is currently 29 and has continued his training in vocals also emphasizing contemporary and pop music mixed with his classical sounds. He can change two to three octaves in less than a second. He completed his PhD in musicology this past spring. He is fluent in Kazak and Russian and is fair in Chinese Mandarin and English. He had moved to L.A. to get a degree in Film Directing, but his tour schedule has been heavy so he comes and goes from the U.S. He is so shocking in his presentations and this is no where near his best pieces. He is Eurasian and tall at 6'3"
There is a very good reason that Dimash sings this sad song. It was originally penned for a French-Canadian rock opera, "Starmania," in the 1970's but was made more famous by a French talent show contestant, Gregory Lemarchal, who won the second season of the show in 2007 in spite having only 25 percent of his lung capacity as a result of suffering from cystic fibrosis. Gregory died in hospital at the age of 23 while awaiting a lung transplant. Every person in France knows Gregory's story, and Dimash has said that he first discovered the song as a result of that story. He was already performing it with great passion when his best friend, 25-year-old fellow Kazakh and Olympic skating champion, Denis Ten, was murdered attempting to keep hoodlums from stealing items off of his car. Shortly thereafter Dimash's treasured voice teacher died of Covid in the midst of the pandemic. And even more recently, Dimash's grandfather who raised him has also passed away. That's a lot of tragedy in the life of a 29-year old and, I believe, the reason Dimash sings the song with so much passion each and every time. But then, as you will discover if you venture down the rabbit hole, Dimash sings EVERY song with passion.

In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And that in all registers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. He explores his artistic possibilities and goes his own artistic way mostly outside the mainstream music industry. To experience his full range watch Opera 2. Search for the one that his father surprised him. The ending of his father surprising him is amazing. This song SOS is from a French rock opera from the late 1970's and he sounds sad because the opera deals with depression and suicide. One of his most recent works is a 14 minute short movie called "The Story of One Sky". It took him 3 years to write the script and the score. He is the lead actor. Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He is a twenty-nine year old multi-faceted artist with a soul of a thousand years, who hails from Kazakhstan. He sings in 16 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave 2 semi-tone range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble and kind man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018, "Stranger" 2021,"Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer that came out of retirement to work with Dimash) TH-cam channel, "Adagio" from The Singer 2017, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021 at New Wave. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for one of his most recent songs and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. There is a very good reason that Dimash sings this sad song. It was originally penned for a French-Canadian rock opera, "Starmania," in the 1970's but was made more famous by a French talent show contestant, Gregory Lemarchal, who won the second season of the show in 2007 in spite having only 25 percent of his lung capacity as a result of suffering from cystic fibrosis. Gregory died in hospital at the age of 23 while awaiting a lung transplant. Every person in France knows Gregory's story, and Dimash has said that he first discovered the song as a result of that story. He was already performing it with great passion when his best friend, 25-year-old fellow Kazakh and Olympic skating champion, Denis Ten, was murdered attempting to keep hoodlums from stealing items off of his car. Shortly thereafter Dimash's treasured voice teacher died of Covid in the midst of the pandemic. And even more recently, Dimash's grandfather who raised him has also passed away. That's a lot of tragedy in the life of a 29-year old and, I believe, the reason Dimash sings the song with so much passion each and every time. But then, as you will discover if you venture down the rabbit hole, Dimash sings EVERY song with passion.

Quite talented is an understatement for Dimash. He is mega talented, but talent backed by a lot, a lot of work and study. At the age of 5, he started with the piano when they discovered his perfect ear, then a music school, a college with opera singing, a university with pop and jazz singing, a master's degree in composition and a doctorate in musicology. A stubborn young man, perfectly behaved and with huge emotions in what he does.We love him to no end😍❤❤💯

Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And that in all registers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. Sometimes he also can be a little bit goofy, and I love it❤️. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. The phrase „Sleep, child, sleepin the end is sung in the musical as the character bends over the corpse of his girlfriend, who has committed suicide
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

The man who often plays the kobys in Dimash’s performances is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it.

He is singlehandedly overwriting what is possible for a single human voice but he himself is saying only 1% is talent the rest is hard work (he is classically trained since age 5 and still working). He explores his artistic possibilities and goes his own artistic way mostly outside the mainstream music industry. His fans - his Dears as he calls them - range from kids to 90 years old from litteraly all over the world. The reason is, as stunning his voice is his fans love him because of the gentle, respectful, hard working and thoughtful young man behind the voice. I follow him since a couple of months after his breakthrough in 2017 and somehow he manages to astonish you again and again with every single new song. You haven't seen anything yet😉

To experience his full range watch Opera 2. Search for the one that his father surprised him. The ending of his father surprising him is amazing. This song SOS is from a French rock opera from the late 1970's and he sounds sad because the opera deals with depression and suicide. One of his most recent works is a 14 minute short movie called "The Story of One Sky". It took him 3 years to write the script and the score. He is the lead actor.
