Have a look at the vid Markus did a few months ago. It's a great jumping off point. The Sparks (original, Mini and Go) were my rig for years and had most of the pedals I needed but I couldn't change the order or loop. So if you could help me out with some ideas when you have a chance I’d greatly appreciate it. Stay safe and keep on keeping on brother
With Loopy Pro, the possibilities are limitless. Other loopers might do it too. I would go into a good shop and discuss it with them. It all depends on what you want to do. A ready made track? Playing everything live? How many instruments?
What an informative video at a nice pace. sorry to trouble you again , Can you help? I am confused with signal pathways . Question _ is it better to play everything thourgh an audio interface (guitar voice , keys and ipad) which is then conected to aux in on an amp? . Is everything going through the ipad an d loopy pro app and then through to the main amp . I have tried to connect loopy pro to amp via bluetooth (have no suitbale usb interface yet) and then jam along with guitar plugged straight into amp . Am I correct in thinking the audio interface is acting like one giant mixer feeding everything into loopy pro and then to the main inputs on amp . ? I hope this makese sense - if interface is just to connect ipad - one channel woudld suffice - if its to handle everything (and use auv3 effects) i need 4 inputs . I suddenly realied i didint understand the signal flow through the system and froze when it came to buying a suitable audio interface, forgive me- but you may be the only person who can answer this. thank you in advance Markus

I am contemplating using loopy pro to automate a small stage production that sequences audio spoken word story narration with sound effects and or songs . @@sevalmi8681 Yes, I use them all. I have now upgraded to a softstep 2
@@MarkusK. thank you for reply! You are really cool musician!
Wow I know you hear this all the time but I love everything you do brother you should come to the US we’d love ya over here. My question is. Do you know if there’s a system like what you have that a drummer could use? I play and was thinking is I could get a system like that to play the guitar an bass , organs plus some brass and I’d play drums man would I go out and collect what I need.
I would say you need everything going through the audio interface
@@MarkusK. Thats very heplful - now I can move forward - I got myself in a tiz - most videos display audio interfaces with ipad pro - I have 6th gen (which i prefer) and now 10th gen only . Everyone is abosrbed in the minutae of loopy pro and dongles - you are the only one to show how the live set up can work in an actual live performance. Your use of modestly priced (and UK available) gear - puts this dream within reasonable grasp - Thank you very much Markus - much appreciated. ps can you recommend an external drive that will allow trasnfer of wav files on a windows pc to an ipad - it needs to work with both .....- I see Apple store selling LaCie drives and wondered if you had experience in this tricky cross platform (windows to ios) area. I have created lots of loops in Ableton Live and am sending them to myself by email to get it on the ipad !! cheers
@@georgefenning4844 I have used Google drive to transfer from Samsung to iPhone. That works ok. Maybe ask someone at Mediamarkt? PS I don’t use pre-made files. Everything fresh, apart from some drum grooves in Groove Rider. I think that is the strength of looping
@@MarkusK. thanks . I will give google drive a try . I suppose I am trying to use my basic loops in place of groove rider . That’s one option I haven’t considered . I need to look at it. I think a basic kick or percussion and maybe a Rhodes chord loop fits what I do . The rest can be live looping as intended . An another project, . I am contemplating using loopy pro to automate a small stage production that sequences audio spoken word story narration with sound effects and or songs . Some of this material is on windows pc and needs assembled .i can see the sequencer play a useful role here . Looping would be minimal, or non existent here . Live playing or jamming over loops would feature strongly.
@@MarkusK. cheers , I have ordeerd a 4 in. 4 out with usb c connection and usb hub arrivign tuesday - - thank you once again for your courtesy, time and expertise.
Hello. How are the voice plugins when you compare them to voicelive 3?
The only thing I haven't found a good replacement for is the harmony effect. The rest is better
Good you are a spiritual person. I fear dark forces pulling that camera adapter out while playing live… what were you thinking apple?
Great setup. How did you power the fcb1010? Does it take power over midi?? Sold mine cause of that, got a mc millen v1 sofstep for 80 instead.
I had to modify it to power it from a12 voor battery
@@MarkusK. how? Does the battery charge when you run it on 230v? That would be a great video. How to mod it. Thinking of doing something similar to my digitone. Fcb1010 Everybody has one, and somehow hates it. Clunky, 230v power…
@@dasczwo I modified it using a video from youtube. There are instructions out there 🙂
Harley Benton ?... you got it sounding really good though.
Hello,
How you power your gear?
Batteries
Hey what's your USB adapter ? Would love a link, thanks :)
I am now using the official camera adapter for iPad
Hi, how exactly is your Akai mounted to the stand below it?
Do you have a link to a product that Ican mount my midi controller to in a similar way - cheers
I bought a really cheap stand in Mexico, in a shop somewhere. It’s fixed with a sort of velcro, from B n Q
Do you use an official Apple USB adapter for for iPad or a cheap one ?
I used both. Now I am using a proper one, to be safe
@@MarkusK. I know it's pricy, but I ordered an official one and i am keeping a cheap one as a backup
Very cool! What kind of stand/hardware are you using to hold the Akai and IPad?
some cheapo stuff, can’t really remember where I got it from
Do you have any videos that display exactly how the iPad and akai are mounted? I’m on my way to having a very similar set up to yours but struggling to find a good means of mounting my hardware - cheers!
Never mind, I was able to make it out from this video, cheers - awesome set up
Did this evolve any further? Interested to see it if so
Is Harley Benton a good guitar ? I am planning to buy one but I’m not sure if the quality is good for such price
I have had 4, all excellent
@@MarkusK. Thank you !
🥰
hi
is your PA system portable or powered by a generator?
integrated bateries
Hi Markus,
Congratulations on the minimalist but extraordinary setup. I'm trying to get a similar setup to work. Unfortunately I don't get the FCB1010 configured. Is there a trick? I would be happy about a tip. Are you actually back in Germany this year?
Best regards
Are you using the FCB with Loopy Pro? I didn’t have to configure anything. I just used the midi learn feature in Loopy Pro, but I only use the one bank, keeping it simple. And yes, I have some gigs in Germany in June. Looking forward to being back!
@@MarkusK. Thank you for your quick reply. I use LP like you. I'm trying to reset from used fcb. maybe we'll see each other in Germany 😉👍☺️.
@@5tebe753 Have you found the midi learn feature in LP? If you have the FCB connected via midi, it should register when you step on a switch. If it doesn’t, you might need a new chip for he FCB. See you in Germany!
@@MarkusK. Yes I found the Midi Learn Feature. I had configured the FCB to the Clips. But after some toogle actions the FCB doesn't work well. It activates some Reverb or Delays or switches between some Instrument presets... My Hair ist turning gray 😂🤣
...surprised the phone could power all of those....
it's literally the akai 218
Like👍👍👍
Do you really need so many pedals? Could your sound not be realize qith a clever setting in LP and a simple 3 botton bluetooth pedal?
With menus possibly, but I hate menus while I am playing. Unless…. You have me thinking now…. The problem comes when I want to take things out at will, then I need all loops linked with a switch instantly
@@MarkusK. Just say it cause a simple blueboard pedal would take a lot of work/weight/space and "full battery stress" off your hands.
@@fernandoscolletion is Bluetooth now instant, without latency?
Well not for Audio, but no problem for Midi commands @@MarkusK.
Very nice setup! What are you using to mount the Akai and iPad to the mic stand?
The Akai has a cheap stand I got in Mexico, and the iPad a clamp I found on Amazon, also cheap
