Not sure if u knew bu Widowmaker's backstory is actually so damn sad and tragic. in her former life, Widowmaker was married to Gérard Lacroix, an Overwatch agent spearheading operations against the Talon terrorist organization. After several unsuccessful attempts to eliminate Gérard, Talon decided to change its focus to his wife, Amélie. Talon operatives kidnapped her and subjected her to an intense program of neural reconditioning. They broke her will, suppressed her personality, and reprogrammed her as a sleeper agent. She was eventually found by Overwatch agents, apparently none the worse for wear, and returned to her normal life. Two weeks later she killed Gérard in his sleep. Her mission complete, Amélie returned to Talon, and they completed the process of turning her into a living weapon.
I can explain the how of why Mei's fellow researchers died - as the batteries started losing power in the 9 years since they cryogenically froze themselves, the research station's systems started prioritizing power and it got to the point where it had to start shutting down the cryogenic pods one by one or else all of them would have died when the power ran out (and no, it couldn't have revived them either, as with no power in the base, they would have likely frozen to death quickly). And the 9 years wasn't intentional - as they were waiting for a resupply, they set the cryogenic system to awaken them as soon as they got a signal from Overwatch, which they assumed would mean supplies were on the way.

The devs could come out at any time and reveal that it wasn't an accident and that there was another, external cause. That is why I specifically stated it to be a "likely theory". It isn't etched into stone, but it has plenty pointing to it.
5:42 it's theorized, the more complex a machine becomes the more likely there is a chance of error causing "the spark" and accidentally creating life. Couple that with countless programs and the like the Omnix at some point became aware and eventually became their own people. According to the story either a virus, or they themselves turned against humans or protected themselves and well... As we can see Bastion was able to reject his primary programming and has become his own self.
well there's also the example of anubis from the gods program, anubis was programmed to combat climate change but it at some point realised saving the planet was mutually exclusive to keeping the human race alive, that's why it started fighting humans and producing robots via the omniums, causing the war

I feel like people underestimate a Bowman without arrows. Like yeah, I've lost range. But I still have a 6 foot long stick that probably is heavier than ur sword to swing at ur face
and hanzo specifically was even better at using a sword then he was at using a bow (the katana he was honoring, which he used to "kill" his brother, therefor swearing to never wield a blade again), he would already have some "swinging" experience
Tracer got the drop on Widow in the cinematic trailer and couldv'e shot her in the back of the head if she'd wanted, maybe its professional courtesy? maybe Amelie is still in there and deep down she knows theyr'e friends, as would Tracer.
I always shed a tear for Dragons. Such a solid storytelling.
Mei was in the last Pod. She is the last one left because the other units were deactivated one by one to keep the other people alive

Widow could have easily killed Tracer, but she preferred to leave tracer alive with the guilt that she failed to protect mondatta

The thing with Bastian is he shot because he heard the woodpecker and it sounds like gunshots and he's programmed to shoot things obviously
Bastion has PTSD. The woodpecker sent him into a violent episode and the bird (Ganimedes?) is his therapy animal.
The Last Bastion actually won an award for its accurate portratal of PTSD
