when the roms go into the sockets, you get that oh so satisfying sound of the crunching noise.... the good crunch, not the "oh crap, there goes my PCB traces" kind!
Nice video. I have put it on my A1200, I have now updated it to 3.2.1. I put a CF card reader that I can use above the PCMIA slot so I can use more than one OS. I had to maprom KS 3.2 onto may ACA card as I still need the 3.1 on the Amiga for some old CF Cards.
I can't quite decide from what you have said.... Which is older? OS 3.2 or OS 3.9? You have mentioned that you "used to have" 3.9 but now you have 3.2. is that a downgrade? Or am I misunderstanding? Nice video and nice Amiga!
It's understandable that you're confused by it. I was also up to a point. It gets a bit messy as the os splits at some point. Kickstart 3.1 was the latest kickstart. There was workbench 3.1 but another company created os 3.5 and 3.9 back in the day. These both are separate from workbench 3.1, which is being continued today by Hyperion, who has in recent years released kickstart and workbench 3.1.4 and now to 3.2.2.
Hello I saw that you also have the TF1260, I also bought it recently. Without the 68060.library library at boot the Amiga1200 with 3.1 crashed, too ?. I installed the libraries of the 2000 phase5 on Aminet and then the more recent ones with also the MMU management, it seems to me that the TF is not yet supported. With Sysinfo it crashes if you run the speed test. What version of library did you use with 3.1? thank you. Luigi
Hello, the same thing happened to me with Sysinfo, it crashed, try getting the latest version of Sysinfo, I did that and it worked fine... All I did with the TF card is the MMU lib package.
I’ll be doing this myself in the next week when the ROMs arrive. However I’ll be using winuae to do it as I don’t have an external cd drive. Looks abit of a faff on but it will be a giggle swearing at it when I bollox it up lol. Loved the World of Commodore demo playing in the background.
Did you get the custom kickstart that lets you boot off of the tf1260's enhanced ide? Love the video and so far I've been loving amigaos 3.2 and aside from an initial issue with the software for my accelerator (which was sorted out really quickly) I haven't had any problems with it..
You are good, what patience! You can see that you know how to use this 16-bit computer. I want to advise you, I think you know how to do it, to adjust the trimmers for the screen geometry of that nice crt tv. Ah I'd love to see some gameplay with your favorite games if you like. Ciao
Thanks! I used to film gameplays 'Nostalgia time' , I need to start doing that again. I guess for now you have the past ones to watch if you havent already. Ciao th-cam.com/play/PLTfPIrcIusflWiQpcDbEcAt1Yc6Yw3zVv.html
Thanks Ms Mad Lemon. This should be helpful to me since I have just ordered a terrible fire 1260 and 3.2 ROMs. I had trouble trying to softkick the ROMs on the CD. Hyperion must want to sell ROMs. What stumbling blocks have you run into? Thanks.
Nice video. Im SCARED installing this because my ide 4xeide99 elbox interface with CDFS in there. And the new chip ROMs are required for this? i have original 3.1 ones. Im SCARED too, installing this new chip roms and getting any kind of incompatibility with my BlizzardPPC card.
If you've not bought the new roms yet, i'd recommend you checking compatibility and finding out before doing so. In my personal experience and setup, I installed EZIDE/IDEfix successfully with this. But always back up your old install, just in case things don't work out. You can always revert back to it. If you have the 3.2 rom chips already, and things dont work, you can always put your old 3.1 ones back in.
Not only is that flimsy DVD shell junk, but it being made of clear plastic is no help either. If you look up the recommendations for CD storage (which may or may not apply to DVDs, but I'm betting that they do), you will find that the recommended storage method is on edge, not flat, and in a *dark*, cool place. That, and the average lifespan for a home-burnt CD is only five years. So back 'em up as well.
Do stuff your future self will thank you for." What a great mantra to live by 😁
This video makes me so happy, I could cry… I miss my A1200 (and A500)!
when the roms go into the sockets, you get that oh so satisfying sound of the crunching noise.... the good crunch, not the "oh crap, there goes my PCB traces" kind!
Or the crunch you get when you realise after pressing the chip down half the IC legs are flipping you off.
But yes the successful crunch is satisfying lol
just find your channel and i have to say it is amazing!
Thanks so much!
Amazing! Day just got a bit better ❤️
Nice one. Get well soon, Maddi. :)

Hi Maddi. I think I will install that on my old 1200. Thanks for sharring! Best regards. ;)

@@MsMadLemon got it! Thanks. I forgot about the split.
I remember painting my original A1200 the same snazzy blue colour!
Nice video
You've inspired me to rename my boot drive HD1:\37q5{ !! lol Feel better soon!

Good night

Can i ask you, what size of disc do you use ?

Nice Amiga upgrade! and where did you find that stand up Lemmings picture? Please tell :)
Thanks! i've had the stand up lemming since I was 7 years old, my brother got it, I must ask him about it next time I see him :o)
I've been skimming through your videos looking for something about this blue Amiga. Did you paint it? Or was it a promotional thing?
Maddie, Good to see you again… Can you tell me what monitor your using, thanks.
Brad, it's not a monitor but a Maxim CRT Scart TV

Thanks! I didn't know there was one for the TF1260 actually, or where i'd get it from.
so far i'm also enjoying 3.2.. It feels a bit more polished :o)

Hope you feel better soon Maddi 😊
Btw, nice little crt.
Where is the BVM though?
Thanks Logan :o)
The BVM is still at my old place, my stuff is slowly making it's way over here.
@@MsMadLemon Very happy to hear you still have it! All the best.
Holy shit this install looks contrived and complicated, is there an easier way?

I was having palpitations at the start of the video until I realised that's a coaster and not a real original Workbench disk.
I wouldnt have the heart to do that to a real Workbench disk, in fact I feel very slightly bad using the coaster.

i saw the coffee fill up the amiga....
The drilling sucks, as long as they dont go through your broadband cable !!!
Wow.. that DVD box is the worst i've ever seen.. they might as well of just sent the disk in a cardboard sleeve!
