I'm just making scrap 4x4 house candle holders and some owls. Because owls are fun. Not sure they will sell, but I can offload them as gifts. I have two furniture pieces on my plate.
I'm the same way with hotels. I have friends and family that think I'm weird doing it myself. I don't want random people wandering around my room with all my stuff. There have been a few times I'd come back to housekeeping in the room even with the do not disturb sign on the door. It's infuriating.
I CANT STAND THAT! I have meetings throughout the day, some of which I take in the room. I put the sign out and they still knock and keep knocking till you answer the door. Very aggravating
Very good advice. Be safe in your travels. I recently retired do to health issues. The last big trip I've been on was last year. 45 states in 20 days. I was a transporter. I would take something somewhere and hop on a plane and go get more. 😊 No regrets. My passion was furniture and repairs. Now I'm doing stuff like this. I hope I don't loose my passion. 😊 Keep up the good work.
I'm in the middle of working my full time job and as soon as saw there was a video from Mr Burnstock... STOP THE PRESSES!!! Lets see what is going on and then maybe I'll get back to work.
So relatable. I got talked into building bat houses by a local lady because she's fired up about fighting the mosquitos in the area. She wanted me to build 50-75 up front. I went through the process, designed them, built a few, marketed them, and I've sold total of one.
I wish I had project ideas to suggest, but I try making things videos say will sell and I end up trying to sell for way less than the video suggests and still don't. Started only making projects that either will teach me a technique i want to learn, or something yhat i can easily break down and/or reuse when it doesn't sell But love the video and the reminder to plan ahead. Excited to see what you have in store!
I'm down near New Orleans and have been making charcuterie and cutting boards with LSU themed woods.... purple and yellow heart, zebra and maple. I'll email you a couple of pics. They're a little pricey to make seeing as zebra is over $20 per BF, but everyone seems to like the end product. The local hardwood dealer down here also had some maple cookies, about 14x24x1.5... remove the bark, sand to 320, add some walnut handles and poly the whole thing. They're different than the rectangular boards most of us build, so people have been interested in those as well.
I appreciate your advice and down to earth attitude. Just starting out with my son. It is very helpful to learn from your real world expierence. Thank you!!
My area is tight for simple projects. I have tried with some stuff. I am going to try some other things to see if it works. I am in NC there is a lot of woodworkers in my area. Competition is tight.
Well, my reality is absolutely different, dude... Making this is my hobby and therapy. You know? The only thing I made that I ever sold was a firecracker detonator... And I only sold it because the guy was going to use it to teach rocket building for kids. You know? I would probably give it to him, but he wanted to send the money, so... Anyway, about the cutting boards, use them as scrap wood for smaller projects, like tools for yourself. You know? Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😳
Those cutting boards you got that didn’t sell, how many you got? Send them to me! I may be interested in buying them for flea markets. I do on the spot laser engraving and cutting boards would be interesting to be able to offer them on the spot and I need material to engrave.
Good video. One minor suggestion ditch the background music - very distracting from your great presentation. ( I know everyone has different tastes). Thanks again for the content.
Dude nice video looking forward to the upcoming 48 vodeos. Oh btw check your emails think you'll like what u see! Wee thing from me to u! When you coming this side the pond?? Been thinking a bit about what to start looking at for seasonal stuff. Although my area is kinda boaring. Best ave come up with so far is bottle openers or try snokers for drinks although pretty sure they've been well covered here would be good see your spin them though. Hope your good try catch up soon. 🏴👍
@@burnstockwoodworking lovely I'll see about getting a hat purchased in next few days. 🏴👍 Wow yea good luck going there. That's a different one. You need come this way not go other way. 🏴👍

Very Good young man! Safe travels. I need to take closer look at your "will it be worth it" game plan. Best; Tom

Yea, bat houses are a hard sell
I Don’t have anything to post. I am a newbie just getting started. Thanks for your videos & input

I've actually found that if you charge at market or above you make more sales. When I price things cheap I don't make as many sales
@@burnstockwoodworking will have to keep that in mind

I feel ya there, same in my area. That's why I don't really chase the trends once they start popping off around here because there's not much payoff.
