@@Pipes61874 first time rider, first time rider amounts of knowledge. Looks are subjective, but the Scout is a very harsh and uncomfortable ride with zero tech and is heavier than this Nightster, which nullifies its very minor advantage in peak power. At that starting price you can just hop on a softail standard for a hair more… Bigger bike, bigger motor. Affordability isn’t in the equation for the decision to buy anymore. These are nice but with the minimal price difference I think Harley isn’t going to see sales where they need to be on these. Logically if I had a choice to buy a sportster or a softail at like 2000 in price difference, I wouldn’t look twice at the sporty. They went way left field with this one and bit off more than they could chew I think. Sucks because I love sportys.
@@d-lowz-no9931 I tried to be polite with my comment but I agree with yours almost word for word. No hate from me Harley but Ive lost what the company even is now.
@@d-lowz-no9931 The Nightster will roast a Standard, it's 200lbs lighter. If you care about performance at all, the choice between the two is easy. And frankly, if all you care about is cruising comfort, which is all the Standard does better, a Sporty was never on your radar anyway. For context, I agree that the Nightster is overpriced. I think for 13.5 it should have the 1250...but let's not act like the Standard is a hands down better bike because it isn't.
It's still unmistakably a Sportster, definitely a simpler and less polarizing design than the S. I expect to see tons of these with all manner of customization in the future.

£13k base price in the UK... My question to Harley Davidson as an Iron 883 owner since buying mine brand new in 2016... Have you completely lost your minds up there in your Ivory Tower? You can get a hell of a lot of bike here in the UK for £13K.
I'm also in the UK and unfortunately have to agree with you. I've been dying to get a Harley for two years now and watching with a lot of interest to see what Harley are doing. The Low Rider S is my preferred bike but at a whopping £18k, it makes it hard to swallow. I suppose at least there's tech on these new rev max bikes though. I'm personally in love with the more traditional M8 motor over the rev max for sound and feel. But I did test ride the Pan am and have to say it was blisteringly fast. 0-100 in no time at all, and didn't even know I was doing it with the windshield. I ride a K1300 BMW right now and as fast and smooth as it may be it's pretty soul less tbh. For that reason I think it's important that Harley's keep their soul. Shake. Rumble. Noise. Smell. it's all about the experience and how it makes me you feel. Not just going fast. They don't seem to of gotten that mix of Soul and Tech right yet for me.
You know what, I was thinking about a LRS as my next bike too... Then I looked at what I could get from other manufacturers for a lot less. You can get a tricked out GS for that money.
Great bike, I feel like y'all waaaaay missed the mark on the price man that's way to much imo. Just another crazy out of reach bike for anyone under 30
Shit I'm 33 and I still don't won't to make a investment in a bike over $10,000 and I can afford it. There's no reason for these bikes to be priced that high. Thats a 9 grand bike.
@@jonboy87 Especially for the components. Non-inverted forks, basic-shocks, and overall lackluster performance for a 13K bike. Hp should be retuned to the full 125 and give it some decent front forks at least.
I'm super excited to test one of these units out. After owning and riding multiple Sportsters, this may be the next H-D purchase on my list. :) The increased lean angle, reduced weight, and next generation motor are all very impressive characteristics. The black frame and accents look great, but I would have loved to see the color options incorporated into the fenders and not just the tank/airbox area. It would have been very impressive to see this with an $11-12,000 price tag to keep it right with the Indian Scout Bobber / Rogue models. Nonetheless, this is a very exciting step in the right direction for the motor company, IMO. I love that the lines keep with the traditional Sportster silhouette. It's very cool to see some early inspiration from builders getting their hands on these next generation models as well. Well done Harley!
It's moments like this when I am very thankful for the Evo Sportster Motor. Also, high-end "affordable" bikes like this will push up the market cost on pre 03 carburated motors making that once 2500$ Sportster 883 a 6800$ Sportster. get um while they are cheap guys and gals everything is changing and HD is going to eat itself alive.

Finally, as a FTR, Scout 60, Z900RS, KLR650,ZRX1100, and former Street Glide, Switchback,XR1200x owner, I am disappointed that HD felt the need to add vibration into this powerplant. Until they get out of that mindset they will have trouble moving forward. Also, the video is to showcase the new bike but all I saw was builders already changing it. I hope they sell millions. (But, ride a Z900RS if you really want to see R&D in action).
Your bike club members better only drive cars and trucks that are air-cooled.
Finally! the real evolution of the sporster!
Love it. Great work Harley Davidson. From the build to the legacy to this actual video production - ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I am not a biker at all all, but this video is very well done and all the artists und engineers shown in the video deserve the utmost respect.
The Japanese one was my favorite. Nicely done overall Harley Davidson.
THIS is the correct response to the the Indian Scout. THIS is the start of something awesome.
Wow. Love the design
I am holding off making a bike purchase for this. I hope it is worth the wait.
Edit: It was.
18:30 Hideya togashi had the best bike
The dude from Japan made something gorgeous.
This is the Sportster that would have been created decades ago if Erik Buell got his way. This engineer is repeating a lot of things that Erik Buell did a long time ago.
Absolutely what a damn Shame. Money makes people funny.
I hope Eric brings us Into the international race bike scene
Here comes the v rod airbox fiberglass aftermarket! Can't believe this outpaces the v rod. Can't wait.
Harley-Davidson ...... Just ride the the roads & take in the scenery

Harley Davidson Incorporated: Building motorcycles for golfers since 1999.
I love the direction Harley is going-in Well done guys!
Seems like the Nightster was made just for me! On point!
The vídeo it’s a MASTERPIECE ❤️. The bike too much 🤟🏽
Love how Harley Davidson design team mixed old with new you killed it
Customizing is off the hook!
Love the builds and of course the Man - Willie G Davidson 💪🏻
I just got a Road King.........Now this. Why wasn't I born rich, LOL!! My first bike was a Sportster , I gave it to my son. The tradition continues. This bike is a winner!!
It's a cool bike but not for the 14k starting price when you can get a scout with a little more power for 12.5
That's for sure .And let be truthful the indian scout looks way better facts.Im in the market for a new bike and being a first time rider the scout will get my money .Harley still doesn't get it .
@@Pipes61874 first time rider, first time rider amounts of knowledge.
Looks are subjective, but the Scout is a very harsh and uncomfortable ride with zero tech and is heavier than this Nightster, which nullifies its very minor advantage in peak power.
I agree the Nightster may be a bit overpriced and I think you should get the 1250 for $13,500, but that doesn't mean the Scout automatically wins. You're the one that doesn't get it, not Harley.
I think for 13.5 it should have the 1250...but let's not act like the Standard is a hands down better bike because it isn't.
quality movie short ---- beautifully done, film editing is so tight !!!!
It's still unmistakably a Sportster, definitely a simpler and less polarizing design than the S. I expect to see tons of these with all manner of customization in the future.
Boy... They went all out! Go Harley!
15400€ for an entry level.....good job HD!!
🤣
Its not an entry level.....this bike is faster than the low rider s
@@motorcycleislife8296 975cc is an entry level....stop
I rode one a couple months back, it’s nothing to write home about. I actually hopped off mid test ride and traded bikes with my buddy because I didn’t want to ride it anymore. I was over it 🤷🏽♂️
All this talk about it being a Sportster, but I also see alot of Street750 DNA in there. Looking forward to this!
I am a loooong time HD rider & current owner of 2. I'm glad to see that HD is finally moving away from the 68 yr old geezer (myself) market & going after the Hipster Doofus crowd...
this video is just as breathtaking as the new Nightster. bravo.
Such a sick build! Well done harley davidson 👏
Love the fonts used and editing in this video.
You can get a tricked out GS for that money.
thunder bike and hide motorcycles were truly a masterpiece
I'm not sure if this makes me want to buy a motorcycle or go to film school.....
That German company was on point with their build!
What's really on display here? Harley's marketing might. Hipsters galore! 😉
Seriously
Hipster fest 2022
I'm super excited to test one of these units out.
After owning and riding multiple Sportsters, this may be the next H-D purchase on my list. :)
The increased lean angle, reduced weight, and next generation motor are all very impressive characteristics.
Super excited, huh? Hipster.
I bought a 2020 Harley Iron 1200 last year. So glad I did.
@Leon Wilcox Yep...nailed it.
I agree 100 percent I been noticing on the marketplace and have been warning my pals same with dynas and old roadkings
@Leon Wilcox people said the same thing about shovelheads in the 1990s
"Oh they aren't knuckleheads or pans, shovels will never be valuable."
Sure thing buddy
@Leon Wilcox 🤣
Hideya’s bike! Gorgeous!!
This will definitely be the iron 975 or something similar , can't wait to see what they have come up with 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️
So I know what instruments the musicians used because we got some good footage of those but I didn’t get a good look at the bike.
@@RFXLR I went to Harleys site. It's listed for sale on there. Better images but beware it's got the ugliest pipe since the Street bikes 🤣

Parabéns Harley Davidson.

And that is how you sell a motorcycle. Can't wait to see the beauty in flesh
Love it but I’ll wait patiently for the 1250 cc. version of this.
It REALLY doesn't need the 1250.
@HahrtDood you'll be waiting for a LONG, LONG time.

Absolutely ADORE that exhaust's aesthetic.
Prices going up and up. It's priced like the Softail Standard.
Not anymore, standard otd is close to 19k
@@AKSnoopy7 this one is listed to start at $13,499. Wonder what the OTD will be on it with all these crazy dealer markups right now.
@@AKSnoopy7 yes because of greedy dealership markups. The bike looks beautiful. But you can probably get a new Indian Chief for the same price and way more of a motorcycle.

Everything is up in price. Looked at a car or truck lately?
Ashley really did a great job in the design. I hope they add faux machined fins in later designs. Congratulations to Harley Davidson.
"If it ain't broke, don't change it." And yet the Sportster has been completely changed. Time will only tell if all the added fluff & puff will hit a nerve with millennials.
It's called performance boomer. And it is broken. No where in the modern world will the old sportster be allowed to be sold within 5 years.
Cant agree more. I’m so annoyed that they’ve already missed so much of the mark!!!
@Whiskey Pete I mean all the teats that millennials suckle upon.😁
@@mr.b3168 But the big twins will be? Something wrong with that narrative.
@@trekbsg They are oil cooled. And why would HD make another air cooled engine that is smaller when eventually the big twin will be phased out. This is most likely the last air cooled V twin harley will make. Hence why they are scrambling to make the liquid cool bikes appealing. This ain't 1980 anymore
