My hometown Lobos. I have followed this program since we were in the WAC back in the 70's with Az, Az State, BYU, UTEP, Utah and Wyoming. That conference was as competitive as any in the country. I Could not be prouder of what Coach Patino and this team have accomplished. 4 games in 4 days in the biggest tournament of the year is just ridiculous. Congrats and now off to Memphis and beat Clemson. GO LOBOS 🏀🏀🏀
Four days, four games, four wins. New Mexico is the first in Mountain West history to do that in the tournament. Punching their ticket to the big dance in a decade since 2014. This is their fifth Mountain West Conference title in school history and first since the last time they were in the NCAA Tournament ten years ago. A few weeks ago they were on the bubble but now they're an automatic lock.
I was there! Amazing electric atmosphere. I couldn't believe my eyes! So very proud of the Lobos and that drive back to ABQ was worth it! Win or lose I'm proud of them.
I could feel the energy from the get go. House said it " we wanted it more" . We fans did too. Hopefully the begining of a long run of greatness. Im still bitter what Alford did to us. Good things still to come.
I gotta admit I wrote these guys off a couple of weeks ago and was hoping the UNM women would at least make a deep postseason run. I'm so glad these guys proved me wrong. Coach Pitino has these guys playing so hard -- looking forward to seeing what they can do with Dent and everyone healed up. EVERYONE'S A LOBO - WOOF, WOOF, WOOF!!!!!
Man, I was rooting for NM for most of the season. When they started to struggle I was worried the committee would surely find a way to keep them out. Lol I watched whole game against Boist St and was pumped. Lobos goin' dancing, wooo!
