LYRICS:
Waking from the daze of a restless slumber
I had that dream again,
Gotta get your name, gotta ask your number,
But I’m losing all my teeth again.
Standing at the edge of the tallest tower,
I hold your hand and dive,
Falling and falling for what feels like hours,
Falling in love before the day arrives.
Right in the middle of a nightmare honey,
I found you right next to me,
And I’ll admit it, it might sound funny,
To fall in love with a fantasy.
My Bad Dream Baby,
Tonight’s for me and you.
Don’t wake me, Bad Dream Baby,
Cos my dreams don’t come true.
And I know these lucid dreams aren’t the remedy,
But I can’t keep trying to sweep you off your feet,
And I know I’ve lost my grip on reality,
But it’s real enough for me.
I’m in the middle of a nightmare, honey
I need you right next to me,
And I’ll admit it, it might sound funny,
To fall in love with a fantasy!
My Bad Dream Baby,
Tonight’s for me and you.
Don’t wake me, Bad Dream Baby,
Cos my dreams don’t come true.
Oh my Bad Dream Baby,
I’m not givin’ up on me and you,
Its just a bad dream, baby,
Gotta make my dreams come true!

Thanks NRW for this.. greetings from Brasil
The 80's are back to the great! ❤👍
Rad!
Amazing song and very nostalgic videoclip. Greetings from Spain.
we have a great job over here.
Retrowave is the best thing that has happened the music industry since the 80´s.
Hol' up
Spacehy - That was a sentence, phrase or even English wth is a hol' up???
Kaj Roth I agree
you forget 90s alt' rock
Truely realtalk!
When I thought, "It's cool that this group is making that 80s sound again". Then I found out that it's an entire movement. Childhood reopened
digimon916 seriously! What’s the movie called?
the midnight , roosevelt check them out
@@hoze1235 i second The Midnight. They pretty much define this sound better than anyone else currently. Don't think they have a single bad song.
@@fakiirificationyea , the midnight is pure 80s and roosevelt is a bit more experimental synth wave
IKR?! Just discovered this movement last summer or so!
In a parallel dimension, this was on the top 40 during the summer of '87...
Genial
Yeah my buddy ryan loves this song and remembers when it wasa in the top 40. Pretty sure he graduated that year. Ass hole owes me $20
I'm 43. And this sounds is as if I was 14 again. Gorgeous. I love this beyond what anyone can imagine.
Nostalgia
Hell yeah
It's the same nostalgic feeling I get when I listen to this classic collection
im with ya on that one!!
I am 41 and this is cringe and badly produced
Awesome! Basically, a 1987 Top of the Pops hit song written in 2017. This is how Synthwave is done right!
This would likely be closer to 84/85
the best
RoboticDragon --You hit the nail on the head. This instrumentation is most definitely from 84/85.

I was going to say exactly the same thing but you said it all. You said it all.
Brilliant!
When it's more 80's than the 80's..
If that would have been out in the 80's they would have sold maybe more than Michal jackson!
@@FulguroGeek Periodt
Absolutely impressive how these young people that weren't even around in the 80s figured out the algorithm of 80s music and all of the cliches. I love it 👍
It's wayyy more "polished" than the analogue feel of the original 80s retrowave influences, but honestly it's one of the most SOLID tunes around!!

@@DannyHardLuckWoman not really

Well said, so much effort at a time when S'87 was very unknown. This is talent and creativity at it's best. So thankful for this video and song
Listening to this song is the right thing to do. Very cool...
BLTs, Arnold Palmers, Nerd Gummy Clusters, and some sick tunes. What a summer of '23!!
I'm 38 and this is the best thing I've ever seen
Dude same
I'm 59 and love it. Synthwave is one of my favourite genres of music.
tengo 38 y esta musica es perfecta para mi jajaja
In my 20s and I believe it's one of the few good genres that really help me emotionally
I wouldn't say that, far from it. It's pretty sweet though.
This song made me have some ceviche at the cabana after tennis. What a delight.
September 87 needs to come back. Hurry
This just goes to show that even today almost 40 years later 80s will never go out of style
It's got the sax, it's got the e-guitar, it's got the synth-tunes, it's got the melodies, it's got everything! 👍
it's got the alien, it's got the robot
It's got the electronic drums...
sax is so sexy !
It's got the cheesy dancing...
What’s truly sad is that the actual 80s missed out on this. Imagine how many 18 year old love birds could have listened to this on cassette while driving a Pontiac Firebird across the local football field.
Cringe
haha..nice!
@@user-vi4xy1jw7e shut up crystal generation
Sounds like a perfect date
@@user-vi4xy1jw7e wut?
Ever asked yourself why every generation unanimously loves the 80s music? It's magic.
im 11 years old and i feel like this song is great it gives you a feel of nostalgia from a time you never lived in its kinda weird
It's a kind of magic! ♫
This isn't "80's" that's why... It's a new combination of 80's and Modern- creating an all new genre that NEVER existed in the 80's.
The one thing about the 80s that defined the generation is materialism was plentiful, we had discovered new synthetic fibres that allowed for cheaper and more plentiful clothing, machinery and tech finally allowed for more food production which in turn boosted the economy of the world.
So it is the start of the age of luxury and general having more than we need.
This was even more so in the 90s but after that population rising and immigration rises had ruined the plentiful vibe as we slowly crept into the digital age.
So when it comes to the music, in most cases (apart from social issue movements like the punk and ska cultures) the music represents that general optimism of the future, which again was represented in 90s rave/dance culture music.
So yeah, 80s music in general is very upbeat, bright and optimistic, with of course the creating of the synthesiser being THE instrument of the generation that is used in most 80s music.
I was born in the 80s so i have nostalgia for 80s music, though I was not into music myself until the 90s when I became compos mentis.
@@JuanMendoza-qd5lm It is inspired by the 80s synth and synth rock music, hence why they are called retro wave, or synth wave.
Either way listen to some vice city radio station and compare the music and you will understand that the genres are very similar.
(funny that I wikid synth wave after writing the above comment and it actually lists GTA vice city as an inspiration for the genre)

Best comment yet.
What's that mean?
It means mainstream music just got it's talentless ass handed to itself.
Indeed.
sixstanger00 Exactly right! With the rise of this new wave of 80’s synthwave, the mainstream’s irrelevance is now complete.
Words are just words until the music actually starts, and sometimes music speaks louder than words
That's deep. Do you mind if I steal that and spread it around after tennis?

Still the best 6 + years later. Just stopping by to say that.
I have been in a deep slumber for some time, but the smooth guitar riffs of this killer track were too good to sleep through. This video has everything: humor, great vocals, great instrumentals, and special effects that would make even Star Trek jealous. I get the feeling we are going to have to keep our eyes on these two. If you're not from the 80's, this fantasy song is capable of making you fall in love with this era. Nowadays, music has lost it way, no one can pull out a classic hit, it end in the 90's.
This song has spirit, like the 80's classic. Even the way they played the base, the drums and the vocals, it's all perfect.
They must continu with that vibe, even if they reproduced the feeling of an era, they didn't process by sampling older songs, like most of our actual non-creative tracks.
Everything in it is perfect, it's art, Swweet...

Production value wise this is a remarkable milestone for the entire NRW scene. And someone saying this is too 90's ? Like how?
90's didn't have that kind of scifi influence. Even if it had, it was vanishing rapidly. Costume wise Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
were probably some of the last stuff that reminded of 80's in some way. Besides early 90's spawned from 80's. Let's not forget that. Nothing changes overnight. I'm impressed if all the scenes from this video are originals and not taken from somewhere. The beginning seems like from some old movie. That blue alien and robot head are impressive costumes. Better than CGI for me. Quite believable actually. I hope other artists are brave enough to try something like this too. To this extent.
I think the planet is actually Coruscant from Star Wars. The space station reminds me from Dark Matter. But I totally agree on it being great production value. The music is very passionate and very poppy. But still great!!
Everything in the intro, meant to be a collection of homages, was made from scratch using Blender and Photoshop. The planet is indeed based on Coruscant, however the station was inspired more by Star Trek. Glad you like the video ;)
Great work on visual effects sir! Hope to see more of your work for the scene in near future. Or in past... Those ships in the beginning reminds me of Blade Runner somehow. The beginning scene.
Thanks, and yes there will be a lot more ;)
I was thinking the same thing about the makeup/costumes. They look far more believable in this video than most of today's modern CG FX.
Bottom line: CG will never be a substitute for the real McCoy.
Guys!!! You fucking brought hope into music again! From my heart and soul I thank you for creating this marvel
👍👍🤟🤟
