PHEVs are great stepping stone for those trying to migrate away from their ICE cars to EVs. This F-Pace PHEV is a wonderful example and is extremely desirable, but its also well beyond my budget.

We certainly think so. We'd love everyone to go straight to full electric, but not everybody is able to charge at home easily, so a PHEV is a good option in that scenario.

The thing with i-Pace and electric cars in general is that the driving experience is very different to ICE... the thing about keeping your foot down to keep the speed. Is it the same for hybrid in electric mode?

@@iBest58 Plug-In Hybrids (not just "normal" hybrids) do benefit to some extent from the instant response an electric motor provides. However, the electric motors usually aren't as powerful as those found in full electric vehicles - they don't need to be, as there is both an electric motor and petrol engine. So, yes, you do get a similar feeling in electric mode in PHEVs but usually not as powerful.

Reviewing a Phev at considerable extra cost why no reference to the VED first or subsequent annual charge ?

if the battery runs out does the car uses the 300 horses? when moving does the battery charge? So the 400 horses are for 50 kilometers until the battery runs out?

What is the average cost for charging batteries for 33miles assuming the batteries are flat. Please?

Hi Lynne, it depends on where you are charging (at home or public charger) as well as your home electricity price. The best thing to do is use our energy tariff comparison tool: www.smarthomecharge.co.uk/guides/energy-tariffs-how-to-keep-ev-charging-costs-low
It is designed to help you choose an energy tariff for car charging but if you select the F Pace from the drop down menu it will still give you a rough idea of charging cost.

Looks a stunner. Brilliant car - but - price is out of reach. If it was in the lower 40ks then I would stretch to one but 56 to 65 ( that’s 1/4 of a house ).

These 4 Cylinder FPaces are a joke. So happy i was able to get a 6 Cylinder Supercharged Model in 2018 before they did away with it. My next FPace is gonna be the SVR 8 Cylinder Supercharged.

With almost zero infrastructure for charging a Hybrid is logical Unless you live in the country and can charge from your house. City charging at home is beyond most people.
