My puppy knew exactly what to do by simply watching your video, which is really cool. The bad thing is, I caught her using my credit card online to buy cases of dog treats.
hey zack! in 8 years your gonna be TH-cam's most famous dog trainer. your going to teach a variety of cool tricks, and always say something about petflow in your videos!
@@gmanvazgen3665 Who peed in your Cheerios? Zak is amazing, she did't say anything bad. His Pupford class is what got me into training and soon my dog will get his first trick dog title.
I like how zak tells the viewer it takes more then a day to learn this..I also like how he says its ok to teach more than one behaviour at a time, and I agree keeping it interesting is key! Thanks zak!
Hey Zak, This is awesome. I am a trainer and work with rescue dogs. These things give me so many other things that I can do with our dogs to make them use their brain and use up some of their energy. Thank you!
I ran across one of your new videos, and subscribed immediately. I remember Venus helping you teach puppy classes way back in the early 2000s. My child was in love with her, and you were just a kid yourself. I'm so proud of you! You worked hard to achieve your dream. You've come so far from that pet store.
Awesome... I love your dogs! Your videos are so amazing, thank you! I train with my Border collie girl "Hope" since a couple of weeks, everyday I realize that she learns sooo fast...! It's fascinating!
Nice work! I think you are now ready to do Canine Freestyle (I am sure you probably do disc freestyle). I love this trick and my BC loves it as well. Anything with a spin and he is all for that.
Just started this today, using the Frisbee as enticement. He seems pretty timid passing through my legs and takes a wide circle to return. As a rescue dog he's only been with me a couple of weeks, perhaps he has been disciplined for getting under peoples feet in the past. He pulled like a train as well, though we seem to have got that nearly under control. Just time, patience and calmness.
that's the coolest thing I've seen so far! But how do you get the dog to do the spin, backup once it already is behind you? I noticed your dog does it without you telling it to, as part of the whole trick :)
Awesome Zak! I have a 5 month old Golden Retriever - she chases the rolling frisbee, brings it back, and can drop it for about 10 throws at a time before she starts to lose interest, but she's not going after anything in the air yet. What can I do to work on her snout coordination this young? She won't let me balance things on her nose, and she doesn't go after food or tennis balls in the air either.
My 5 month Choc Lab is a GREAT learner so I'm always trying to find new trick to teach her, I think this one might actually take more than a couple tries, but she'll love it! I would like to get her off treats though, but rather than retrieving being her favorite thing, playing tug`o war is her favorite thing -which is too distracting for training.
Im having trouble teaching my dog to backup, because she automatically sits in front of me. So I taught her "stand", but she always goes right back to a sit. And when she does stand, and I lure her into a backup, she turns sideways or sits. Any ideas for help? thanks!
create walls, like a wall and a chair/plank/table on the side/kennel, what ever you have, then do the space so your dog cant turn around and if she only sits just throw the candy/toy over her, so she has to back up to take it, becuz turnig around isnt a choice :)
That is a beautiful dog. I have 2 questions. Is it a Border Collie or an Australian Shepard? And is it a black and white or a really high black Merle? And I love the tri-color on the face.
Love all your sessions. But I do have a question my dog is very food driven and very toy driven. I found that i can not use both because if I have both my dog chooses the food and will not fetch a toy or any thing. But I am finding with food he is becoming dependent and I do not want that any suggestions thank you, you are the best
Hello Zak... I have a Labrador retriver and as i was seeing the video i notced that you Venus know how to punch a ball with her nose on the air, How can i teach that to my dog?
My border collie becomes so intense with the frisbee/ball/toy anytime it is brought out! What would you recommend for decreasing his intensity? He starts barking and will play for hours, to the point where I have to stop the game and hide his frisbee.
hey zak, nice video :) Could you please make a video about how to teach a dog to jump in my arms? I have vizla (higher dog than yours, longer legs, and I am smaller than you are) and I just don't know how to explain to him that I want him to jump in my arms with all legs :) not just front legs :) Please help :) lucka
Is there a more in-depth back up video? I try to lure him backwards with treats, but he gets super mouthy unless he is eating at the same time. If I gradually remove the food, he just lays down.
my dog will spin and go through my legs forward, but when I try to teach her backup by using something she likes or walking towards her she just turns around to go the same direction as me, any ideas???
1:03 is that a blue heeler? im trying to train my dog but he is way to hyper we got to shake, sit, spin, lay down, role over, stay, and im trying to teach him to walk beside me on a leash right now
IM sorry to say this but it seems like when your dog was doing the spin backup thing , the video looks like you just rewinded a video of your dog doing it forward? IS THAT WAT YOU DID?
our dog is very hyper, once i tried to teach her to sit she kinda got it but every time i went outside she would sit just to get a treat and thats not what i wanted can i teach her without the treat? is it possible?
Awesome trick :] The problem with my dogs is that i can't train them outside at places like the park or anything because they get too easily distracted. Anytime another dog, person, bird, etc comes near us, my dog drops the lesson to go play :P So I have to train indoors which isn't as fun as outside. ;[

I taught my dog this trick before i watched the video but he doesnt understand that when i tell him to back away from me to do different tricks he spins around and tries to go thru my legs wat do i do??? Will someone please help me?
Hey Zak! Can u make a video on teaching a dog how to back up. I'm having trouble teaching my dog. She only backs up when I move towards her. It's been 2 weeks of daily training but no improvement. It seems that she does clearly understand the command "back-up". Can you help?
how do you get dogs to roll over? I can teach my dog lots of things like high five and come and stay, but she just won't roll over! I do everything people say but my dog just wont roll over!

Yeah, and he will still look the same. And his videos will have better quality.

venus's turns are so crisp and precise she looks almost like one of those remote-controlled cars!
She’s a bit cuter though😆
MAN! These dogs look like obedient lil robots! It is truly amazing what some time and effort can achieve.
about time you put this up. yay for dogs that can go backwards!
Happy to see that there's finally a clear video on how to do these tricks. Will be trying this out on my Collie Skye :D
Not at all, It's basically like calling some one "friend" or "guy" I didn't mean it offensive at all this dood is the best!
Awesome... I love your dogs! Your videos are so amazing, thank you! I train with my Border collie girl "Hope" since a couple of weeks, everyday I realize that she learns sooo fast...! It's fascinating!

Oh Zak, I don't believe in cloning pets...but I would make an exception for Venus! Such a smart and nice dog.
i love your videos you are the best trainer in the world...
Will be teaching Dixie this next. Thanks for posting it.
My dog can learn tricks pretty easily, he's super smart (when he wants to be lol). I can't wait to start trying the weave between the legs trick
Nice work! I think you are now ready to do Canine Freestyle (I am sure you probably do disc freestyle). I love this trick and my BC loves it as well. Anything with a spin and he is all for that.

Awesome trick. Thanks for sharing, Zak.
Do you have any advice on how to train a dog to play other sports, like volleyball?
Thank you for this video - he can back up - now he just needs to learn to spin :-)

main thing in training as zak has said....find what makes your dog tick! whether its cooked hotdog chips, frisbys, dog treats or even your praise.
Really cool trick and thanks zak for the vid
