Thanks for watching, and thanks for the support! Patterns A01 and A09 are the main patterns, while A02 and A10 are 32 step transitions.
Unbelievable! Genuinely some of the most amazing music I’ve seen made with elektron boxes. How they’re not using you’re work for product demos yet I have no idea…
Another banger! That bass line is so fast but still so clear, doesn't get muddied in the mix and everything just works. This combo is my full setup these days, I really love them together.
I've tried using the Syntakt and Digitakt together, and it sounds really good. I got stuck trying to set up convenient midi mappings, but ran into some trouble with the FX track that I hope is just user error :P
Awesome stuff as always :) I particularly like how this one mixes two styles I feel I hear often from you - the soft melodies/harmonies with a hard ... and pretty crazy techno beat. I am imagining this playing in half life 2... You know the track with breaks a lot of flanger? Anyways, great stuff, thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you very much! The comparison to Half Life 2 is a huge compliment, haha. I think I know which one you mean. I remember the first time music played during combat, when you get your crowbar by the trains. Such a great track and amazing mood setter.
Thanks a lot! On the Syntakt: Tracks 1-4 don't play anything, they only mute and unmute tracks 1-4 on the Digitone. Track 5 is the closed hihat. Tracks 9, 10, and 12 are the analog kicks, snares, and cymbals. On the Digitone: Track 1 is the single note playing every beat, track 2 is the pad/keys sound, and track 3 is the bass. The BPM is 154.
excellent as always! do you find that syntakt can do most of what digitone does? I feel like the main thing digitone can do that syntakt can’t is interesting pads
Thank you! The Syntakt can do a lot of what the Digitone does, but the tradeoff is that each machine has a lot less range in timbre than the Digitone, but you have many of them and they are faster. The Syntakt's machines sound great because they're focused on making a particular type of sound, which makes it harder to break out of those sounds. I feel I get the most out of the Syntakt by leaning into each machines' strengths. I think it's easier to make the Digitone sound like *me* because of the more 'traditional' layout.
@@IvarTryti i see - therefore similar to model cycles in that sense - well you’ve been doing great stuff with it! i just got syntakt, and before I really play a machine like this i have a process where i go through all of the preset sounds and delete the ones i won’t use and then organize them into the banks by type and subtype, and going through the digital presets i’ve been thinking “uh oh, a lot of the digitone range of sounds are in here!” and i’ve been afraid it will render digitone obsolete for me, even without the arps. i guess i’ll find out soon…
Thank you very much! The Digitone's master overdrive sounds amazing on highly resonant bass sounds. It's hard to use high overdrive when using the Digitone on its own, because the drums will overpower everything, but when used only for bass and pads (the drums are on the Syntakt), it's perfect :)
Hello sir! Could you please get into details how can one make transitions/load tracks seamlessly? I mean if I have a bunch of separate projects which I wish to play live and prepare them for live performance situation in advance? Optionally I have Digitone which I can connect as well. Thanks!
Thank you very much! It's the Digitone making that sound. I turned up the Digitone's master overdrive to almost 50%, which really brings out that squelching resonance. When I use the Digitone standalone, I don't use this much overdrive because the drums will overpower everything else, but when the Syntakt does all the drums I could go hard with the overdrive :D
@@IvarTryti Very cool! After watching this video, I checked on the Syntakt for a 303 sound and found the 'Make Acid' preset for the SY DUAL VCO. It sounds excellent especially with a slow random LFO stepping though different filter cutoffs. Now if I can just nail down replicating the 303's slide...
Out of curiosity, what TRS cables are you using? Second, how much do you think cable quality matters? Big fan, you are an inspiration to me when using my Digitone.
Thanks a lot! The black and red cables are stuck together, and the brand is Hosa. I don't know much else about it, but I went for the cheapest and most convenient-looking set of cables on gear4music.com. As for cable quality, I haven't noticed any difference in sound quality.
The main difference in cables is shielding quality. Mogami etc are really good when you have mucho analog and digital gear putting out scads of EMF. Otherwise the capacitance is all that matters in long cable runs.
Hi I would like to learn to make drum beats like yours in the digitakt, I wonder if that content's available at your patreon or would you provide one on one online paid lessons? Thanks in advance
Compared to the other Elektron boxes, the Syntakt really is an all-in-one box. If you already have some of their other gear, then it might be redundant. The one thing I use a lot that none of the other boxes have is ducking. When passing all tracks through the FX block (the analog drive and filter) except for the kick, you can copy-paste the kick tracks' trigs to the FX track, and make all the other tracks duck under the kick. But yeah, it's mostly a combination of previous Elektron boxes. A very convenient combination in a small form factor, which is great for me because I always set up and tear down my gear every time I use them.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm likely going to make more downtempo stuff eventually, though at the moment I'm enjoying the higher BPM stuff I've been exploring lately.

Really feels like an AFX analogue bubblebath tune. High praise
Thank you very much! :D

I had a feeling this would be a powerful combo. Thank you for going in the deep end and showing us what this is all about!
Thank you very much! :D
The filtering resonance in this are a'SCREAMIN'
Awesome drum mutes into the filter sweeps, just a pumpin track in many rites 👌
Thank you very much, man!
Would love to see more of the syntakt, digitone combination
Sounds like a stage tune for Streets of Rage!!!
Oh, thank you very much, man!
Great sounds happening here! Props!
Thank you!

Damn. Another killer track! You are truly the greatest.
Hell yes dude, this was the combo I was most hyped to see! Can't wait to see syntakt/digitakt when you get to it 🔥

Awesome tune
Thanks!
That is so awesome, goddamn
Thanks, Emil!
Man, you always pull off such a cool mood! I love that rhythm and it’s dope to hear these two machines together.
Thank you very much, man :D
Wow! I missed this one. Very cool! I'm a sucker for acidic basslines with breakbeats. ;)
Thank you very much!
Strong AFX vibes. Great work.
Thanks a lot!
bro that breathy sounding pad thing around 40 seconds in sounds amazing
Thank you very much! I'm really happy with that patch, and I use it a lot :D
gamemakers should really hit you up for a dope music

I could've sworn that function button said "funk".
Hehe, that's how I pronounced "FUNC" for the longest time :D
Love the ending.
Thanks!
Awesome as usual!
🙏
Top notch! Love it. Both the percussion & synths sound fantastic. Powerful pair! Now to try and fight the GAS for a Syntakt…
Thank you very much, Dylan!
This is so good
Thanks!
Holy fucking shit. That was so incredibly dope.
Thanks a lot, man!
Fantastic!

Not sure about the Syntakt yet, can't see what it brings if you already have a bunch of elektron equipment.
I just got my first, digitakt, and I really miss having some proper synthesis in my workflow.

Gad daym. That is how u sposed to use em eh!?

Which one is your favorite? 😬
How did you film this?
Bro you're like Aphex Twin and Flying Lotus combined it's ridiculous
