I was impressed with the master craftsmanship of all of these people, but then I realized that WVERY STEP IS BEING DONE BY THE SAME PERSON! I am truly awed and impressed with this individual!

What an incredible lady, what an incredible skill. I do hope there are young people who are interested, and who are prepared to do train with dedication for the the decades it takes, in order to become artisans, and to keep these incredible manufacturing industries alive.
I remember as a Kid seeing documentaries symilar to this one (also about japanese industries and manufacture) always find them very interesting, ty for the videos.
I love the content you bring, thank you! I just want to let you know for future videos. Grinding and polishing are not the same thing. Grinding is the process of removing or alternating the shape by the removal of material. While polishing is the treatment of the surface of the material, you are not attempting to alter its shape in any way.
You're making very nice videos with a very good camera and a very good lens. Very pretty bokeh. However, when documenting detailed work, closeups, almost macros with a lot of movement, the camera sometimes focuses on the wrong thing, like whatever is closest, not what's being worked on. Would you mind doing two things for these shots? Stopping down a bit and maybe use manual focus or focus lock? The craft shown in these videos is so interesting! Of course, if you can afford it, maybe have two cameras, where one is set up for details/technical stuff? Thank you for making these videos! Super interesting!
I carve with soft styrofoam to me halloween heads and my question iis do artisans ever use styrofoam to quickly carve a mask to practice and get an idea of how the final wood mask can be executed ?☀☀☀☀☀
I was spellbound watching the mask being made. Also enjoyed the background music and would like to download some. Is the music available? Who is the musician? Thanks Rick from South Dakota, USA
When in future I sure will take much☀☀☀☀☀ time to visit the crafts people and visit the traditional theatre so lovingly produced ! and I even want too commision some block prints from artists and carvers ! ☀☀☀☀☀
It takes 10 -30 seconds for a baggage handlers to get in to your bags and remove anything they can sell. Apparently they go through the zip avoiding any locks.
This is what happened to America. These are some of the last factories in Japan. The workers are old and even with robotics it is cheaper to make things in other countries. Young people that can not be scientists could have good jobs at these factories and support their families but it is too expensive now. America to Japan to China to Vietnam and other low income countries. I wish the best for vietnam but not at the expense of the USA or other countries. These decisions are not ours to make.

An amazing artist. Love her work. Thank you for sharing with us.
