The Gripen historically had the AMRAAMS. They're holding back on those until a later update. Will be interesting to see what planes will get them as Sweden is slated to have two Gripen models by then, A and C, and as we can see with the Viggen, the C variant isn't allowed its historical RB-74s, only the D variant gets them. Viggen D could also carry AMRAAMS historically. I strongly doubt Gaijin will give it those but we'll see. You can see with the MiG-29s recently added they're still holding back newer missiles on older models that used them historically. For balance, or to control progression, or to make later models in the tech tree more attractive.
Likewise the German F-4F phantom still uses Aim-9Js instead of Ls, despite the Germans never fielding the Js.
One reason I hope Active radar missiles aren't added is because of the playerbase. No team work and a complete lack of comunication, to the point of being abusive to anyone who tries to use it.
Additionally, either the currently the maps are too small or the team sizes are too large to have Long-range Fire and forget missiles.
(Currently ~6 missiles per plane. 6 x 16 = 96 missiles, per team. 192 missiles in the air.)

@@theegunpro4561 the aim9m is significantly more overpowered then the 73 or magics you literally can’t see the aim9m with the other ones you atleast get a chance to dodge it but with the 9m you don’t have a chance
@@vauxcorsa Agree. In Call of Duty mode it doesnt matter, because you get your diamond marker on all missiles anyway, but the 9M being smokeless actually matters in sim. Its deadly. If its fired at you youre 95% dead. Its not even about "how to flare an aim9m", its seeing it in the first place and thats almost impossible.

Ironically the south african gripen has the wrong cockpit model since gaijin just copied the A variants cockpit
The reason the jas39 gripen has the skyflash is because it was designed to be able to carry them but no one used it and just went for the fox3 missiles

F-15J is an improved F-15C, which was first delivered in 1985, the F-15J is 99% of an F-15C but having EW pods in the tips of the rudders

They need to add 1v1 and 2v2 modes with every difficulty (sim, realistic..)
maybe 4v4 or 3v3 even 5v5

Top Tier is a mess.
Just like Germany having East German Migs and West German F4s.
Now: East German MiG-29s are fighting Soviet MiG-29s with Chinese F-16s.
There is also a bug where Friendly planes will set off your R.W.R. with their radar locks when you are behind them.

When i have an f16 in my team, i can't find a difference between a Chinese American and an Italian one...

idk if anyone told you already, but there was only 1 mirage 4000 built, and it flew over 300 times, with different armaments, engines, missiles etc.

exactly! what is the point of a huge ass map, with vulcanos and what not, when all the ground targets are at one place.
There should be some planes allowed per day in sim air like in tanks sim, so no f-16 vs F-16 or mig 29 vs su 27 and that

No radar missiles can touch any planes at this altitude so no need of radar missiles.
Just wait for them to get a little altitude and they won't be able to flare it, or try to be lower than them so the radar can't mess up by the ground clutter

Americans f15a msip which basically gave it better radar and flares and mfd and basically turns it into the C variant

Are sim rewards even good or at least better than they were? I always wanna play sim but I don’t wanna play without the rewards being worthwhile since I have to already pay SL to play it.
Yeah the rewards are still very bad. and considering how cramped it gets with atleast 8 players on each team and the bots of course it will be very hard not to teamkill. and a single teamkill can cost you 60+k sl.
It's easy not to teamkill, just if you're not sure whether it's a friendly or an enemy you just fly up to them and get a marker below 1km if it's friendly. I never had an issue with teamkills in sim, neither with getting profits in it
Rewards alright for RP but not so much for SL, I ground out a lot of my air trees in sim just doing the pve objectives with some player kills every now then when I got more acquainted to flying. Then I play Naval arcade for SL since that's the SL Printing mode
Well you cant make a minus anymore at least, so theres that. Just had a bad match and got "expense compensation" of 10k.
I feel like the same amount of rewards u get from a sim match for top tier, u get the same by playing multiple matches for the same amount of time of a single sim match
i just foud thus guy, that seems to be a DCs veteran, and i love how disgusted he sounds playing sim battles LOL

War thunder maps are outdated,too small for the amount of players and aircraft capabilities, literally turns some planes uselless...
War Thunder is just Ace Combat at this point. Back in the good old days we at least were dealing with a company which TRIED to do historically accurate things, planes, battles etc.
Now, everything is geared towards the Call of Duty crowd, constantly standing on the elevator, constant beeping, zero tactical depth. Its not even skill based anymore, its about which plane has the most chaff and the longest reaching missiles. How hard did I "study" back in the day to be a decent 109 pilot, comparing the flight models of my enemies, learning strengths and weaknesses. Now its just BEEEEEPOOOBEEPOOOO FLARE CHAFF FLARE CHAFF BLACKOUT BOOM BANG MICHAEL BAY.
But apparently, sadly, this is what most people want: A tank game that plays like a first person shooter, and a plane game that plays like Ace Combat.
Its horrible.
War Thunder need to reinvente itselft.. It’s soo frustrating to have those outstanding piece of machine and not be able to playe them on their true purpose. New game mood got to be added, with a DCS’s size map !!
