    FINALLY !!! I got my laptop to reset. Haven’t use it in months, but forgot I put a password on it. It took so long just to find info running in circles to find a way how to start this laptop over and I come across your video. Have to leave a comment. You were more helpful than Microsoft themselves. Thank You !!!

    That was very helpful. We hadn't been able to get pass the password thing for a couple of years .we took it too the shop and they said I needed to get a mini usb transfer cord and they would do it but they said they wasn't guaranteed it would work lol

      +TimsComputerRepair I tried to reset my nextbook, but now I have a blue screen saying: A configuration change was requested to clear this computer's TPM. Do you accept the change? YES NO I want to choose NO, but it get stuck on YES.

      +EC COSTA From what I am reading clearing the TPM is OK. Sounds like you don't have a choice at this point.

    The geek squad was going to charge me to do a factory reset. I just followed your instructions and it worked.I had a virus and needed to reset back to factory in order to remove it. Thank u so much

    I had the very same problem today. Did a little more digging and found the answer. At least to my tablet. Mine is the NXW10QC32G as shown in the video. Not sure why there are more than one factory restore method but here it is.
    You must power off the device. Then power it back on and AS SOON AS YOU SEE THE NEXTBOOK LOGO, you must press and hold the power key again right away and shut it back down . You'll have to do this 3 or 4 times in order to get it to work. You have to do it until you see the NEXTBOOK logo and it says "Preparing Automatic Repair" below it. Here is the link to the actual instructions. You'll have to select the "password help" radio button then "Next", then select "Non-Microsoft Account" radio button then "Next", then select the "reset" radio button then the "Next" button. Follow the instructions EXACTLY as their written and you should be golden. When it does work, do not select the "Reset" option or you'll end up back where you started. The rest of the reset steps are the same as in the video.
    The biggest key to remember is shut it down first to begin. Then power it on and as SOON and the logo appears press and hold the power button again to shut it down. Do not let it power all the way on or you have to start over. Good luck! Take care all! Great vid BTW :)

      THIS WORKED!!! Awesome! I was having issues. I called Tim personally, whom took the time to explain to me that there were several comments in which people have done it differently. This method worked and the video assisted me in carrying it out! This has been one of the most frustrating days as I have had issues with two cell phones crashing on me. I purchase the display from Walmart of this nextbook for my daughters birthday. Power it on to find that there was a fluke account set up by a random customer playing with it in Walmart. I contacted Microsoft Windows 8.1 customer svc to try to have the acct reset, to no avail. Find this video and it has since brightened my day 100%!!!!! Thank you so much!

      @Josh Vittatoe I'm glad this worked. Usually I'm the guy who sometimes gets my answer, maybe finds a tweak, better way, or a different way and doesn't share it. Just goes about my way. This problem was a bit frustrating and after seeing this video, then finding the final solution that worked for me, I figured I'd share it in hopes someone else would benefit from it. I'm glad I was right. Glad I shared. And more glad it helped you out. This video definitely helps walk you through the reset once you can finally get there. Thanks Tim for the vid too!     super epic i have this next book that i lost the charger to so i salder up a usb cable to the yellow barrel used the 5th middle pin for power then used one of the side negative post for - now iam trying the hard reset when i booted it up it was just a black screen so now its at 46 looks like its ganna work thank you for the epic video!

      +TimsComputerRepair I have the same issue but I try over and over again and cannot do it. I had to push home and the center of the volume keys and I was directed into a completely different screen which had 6 options . 6 blue squares on the screen . CONTINUE, BOOT MANAGER, DEVICE MANAGMENT, BOOT FROM FILE, SECURE BOOT OPTION AND SCU. HELP?

      Shannon do like the nextbook instruction in the video and then get the account check out. I had a virus and I had to get one of the msn teams to check why it did weird stuff on my old account. Glad I did that. Sorry about the post on the first reply it sort of went down on me. Push wrong button.

    it’s not working for me, im holding down the volume down and then the home button & all it does it turns it on to my login screen. i have the same one shown in the video

      Are you pushing the volume down button first or trying to hit them at the same time? I held my volume button for a couple seconds before pressing the volume button and it worked
