We did have a couple of questions if you could give some advice -
If the puppy has a wee inside, should you immediately take it outside to show that that is where it should have gone instead (even though it will no longer need to go)? Also, is it best to have the crate in the same room he will be in during the day (kitchen) or bring the crate up to the bedroom to us at night?

I like the suggestion of the baby gates with the vertical bars since my puppy has a habit of wanting to climb on things. The horizontal kind of baby gates might act as a ladder for my puppy. Haha.

we just brought our new puppy, Finnster home 2 days ago. Finn has gone potty outside a few times and he gets praised directly afterwards. He's, so far, been fantastic in the truck and sleeping all night. I did buy weewee pads yesterday and just put a few down in the locations He's always nailed. He's 8 weeks old 2 days ago.

I didn't use a leash to start and now she wants to roam the yard and dig in the flower beds. How do I redirect her? I have to order a pen and in these days of COVID 19 it takes longer to get these things. Shall I just keep using the leash until a pen arrives? How long do you stay out there in the rain on the leash waiting for her to get the idea? Thanks for your tips they are great!
For situations where I am not able to place an outdoor pen in common area for a condo what would you suggest can I still take her on leash down the steps to an area does it necessarily have to be closed off?

I sometimes take the heart out and put it ontop of the crate so pup can still hear and feel it but it can't be chewed,,even during the day.

I am getting an 8 week old miniature poodle puppy on August 1. I will try not to use pee pads (shocking that these are in every TH-cam video). The pup will only have round 1 by 8 weeks. Do I have to have a designated pee are outside or is it okay to take the pup around the block every 1 or 2 hours? Also, how to balance socialization with not having all shots - is it okay to let dog take walks where lots of people frequent as long as it does not interact with other dogs?

Hi my puppy is 2 weeks old
My puppy has been on trained to a litter box since she was about 6 weeks old. She's about 5 months now. Am I going to still be able to use these steps to get her to transition outside ? Or am I doomed 😩

my puppy is 11 weeks old and whenever i take him to grass he eats it, he's well exercised and i try to distract him with a toy so he's not bored, whatever i seem to do hes more interested in pulling and eating at the grass. going potty is the last thing on his mind, i've even tried going outside with him for 10-15 minutes, then back in (watch that he doesnt go) and then take him outside to try again around the time he normally goes, any advice?
We will be picking up our two new Shih Tzu puppies in about six weeks. We will be driving about 8.5 hours to get them. They will be around 8 weeks old. What are your suggestions for potty time on the way back home? Stop every hour? It may take a long time to get home if we do. I'm guessing they will sleep much of the time. Also, should we just bring one crate and let them hang together all the way back or should they be in separate crates. I was thinking of letting them hang together in one larger crate for the ride since they are brother and sister and would probably soothe each other on the long journey. However, I wanted your input on the subject.
The ride home is a great time to introduce them to their own crates. The rocking motion of the car and the excitement will likely cause them to sleep most of the way. When they wake up, stop for a potty break every few hours. I have a question. If you have your puppy go potty inside a puppy pen that's outside, will they come to associate a puppy pen that is indoors with going potty? Won't they then have accidents in the indoor play pen?

It can take anywhere from one week to 6 months to potty train your pup. As long as you are consistent, rewarding for going outside, keeping to a good schedule, using the crate when you can’t supervise and cleaning up with a product like Natures Miracle, you will start to see great results. You should be taking your pup out 10-15 min after meals, right after a play session, right after getting out of the crate, after waking up first thing in the morning or right after naps. Pup should not have access to the whole home right now, only 1 room and only when you can supervise. Hi when do you know if the crying/whining is due to it needs to pee or just want to be out of cage?
It's hard to tell at first so err on the side of caution, but eventually you'll know your dog's patterns and how long he/she can hold it.

Do you need the actual pen outside for their own potty area or can it just be a designated spot?
If you have them on a leash and can encourage potty in a particular spot, then you don't necessarily need the pen!

Does it have to be on a grass? I dont have grassy area around my neighborhood...like literally none. And if I train him to do potty on grass but there is no actual grass around, would he be not wanting to go on area other than grass?

How do we as owners let our puppy know that they are doing something wrong?
My puppy is 3 ears old
So I just got a 10 week old pup (MinPin / Feist) less than a week ago who generally refuses to go potty outside (except first thing in the morning). Otherwise, he will hold it until back inside to do his business. I take him out frequently during the day, but he refuses to go each time, even when i praise and reward him in the mornings with treats. I can't set up a penned area outside because I live in a condo, so I use a particular grassy area outside. Still, I can't seem to break him from this pattern of holding everything in until he is back inside (especially with defecation, since he wont do it in the mornings either). Ideas and suggestions will be appreciated.

What if I do not have a private outdoor space to designate as a outdoor potty spot? I live in an apartment complex so the only outdoor space is communal. Also I shouldn’t take the puppy to the nearest park for a designated spot until the puppy has had all his vaccinations right?
I would be cautious of taking your pup to the common area where other dogs are going potty. You don't know who has parasites or if they've been fully vaccinated. You may want to consider a grassy patch for your patio until your puppy is vully vaccinated. th-cam.com/video/A3VNebzVPro/w-d-xo.html

What if I put a diaper on my pup to avoid accidents whilst bell training to potty outside? I’d be sure to watch for clues, and take him out after each meal etc
WE never recommend diapers on dogs unless it's for a medical reason. Your dogs can get urine burn and pups can ingest the diaper material causing a blockage

Almost 11 weeks old and regularly goes outside but we are still dealing with accidents. We don’t allow access to any carpet or rugs. I watch him for signs that he needs to go out. We don’t want to do the bells.

Have 2 puppies (brothers) 2 mos old. One gets the potty area and need to go out. The other gets where to go but still pees in the house.

I don’t think it’s to hard just make sure to bring the pup outside after they eat and stay until they go to the bathroom make sure to give them a treat and praise him
