I don’t think he’d be the offensive talent he would be in this scenario but he would still be a good defensive player and having Noah, Rose, Bosh, Wade, Bron, George/Hayward and Butler plus whoever like Korver, Battier or Birdman would lead to an even better team defensively.

I'm a heat fan and I remember doubting that we'd actually make the finals in year 1 because we had no depth and the bulls had a lot of depth. Outside of the big 3, the roster was trash, the corpses of mike bibby and big z were the two other starters that year and the only half decent bench players were mike miller and UD. Chalmers was terrible that year, the fact he couldn't get into the starting lineup over ancient Bibby confirms that. Yet despite having no good role players, they stlll beat the bulls in 5 games. Without a doubt, if this hypothetical bulls team had just geroge on the bench, they still win the chip.

Biggest missed opportunity is that the Rockets didn’t trade Ralph Samson for Drexler and the pick that would’ve been Jordan. That’s 2 top 10 players and a top 25 player all starting their careers together. that’s as if the Spurs somehow swung David Robinson for Kobe and Ray Allen in 98

@@bcuno He wouldn't have developed into an MVP by playing second fiddle to LeBron. Rose didn't even want to play with LeBron. He may have eventually grew to be a second option but he wouldn't have been carrying the team the way we saw. He wouldn't have needed to be as aggressive as he was. He may not have tore his acl but his career probably would've played out similar to Kyrie Irving where he had nagging injuries every year.

    • @sappyjoker
      @sappyjoker 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@blackreign351 Lol, don't know where you got your info from. All Rose has said on the matter is that he sent a video to LeBron per The Bulls front office. LeBron is the one who called Rose after the 2010 playoffs and wanted to play together. Rose didn't "hella" want to play with him. Loving LeBron doesn't translate into everyone else loving him... Rose said semi recently that playing with him on the Cavs was awkward. He said "I wanted to beat him all those years, I never imagined playing with him" he pretty much indicated that he only joined the team to stay in the league. Once he established himself, he never considered teaming up with his rivals and that integrity is rare in today's League. Maybe it's why he has no rings but at least he didn't sell out for one.

Great video. This is my second most frustrating Bulls free agency followed by the one where we didn't get Tracy McGrady and had Elton Brand and Ron Artest on the roster.
I think this trade not going through falls more on LeBron & Wade than it does the Bulls. Considering how beloved Wade was in Miami, I can't see them choosing Chicago even if 3 spots were open. That's a really big risk to get rid of a 24 year old who put up 17.6 & 7.3 on a 46.6/38.6/76.4 s shooting line with great defense.
The other factor is that Paul George and Gordon Hayward both needed time to grow. It took PG until year 3 and Hayward until year 4 before they realized their potential and that was with them getting every opportunity to play. If they had Rose-Wade-LeBron-Bosh-Noah as the starters, I doubt that either one of them pans out in Chicago during the 4 year run.
I actually think that Deng would've been a better fit than Bosh for them. Deng was a better 3 point shooter and was a great perimeter defender. The LeBron and Wade might've won 4 straight titles with Rose & Deng rather than opting to go for Chris Bosh.

This scenario would have worked if everything went PERFECTLY. And, in the NBA that rarely happens. Egos, injuries, chemistry, and money are variables that you cannot predict with certainty.
But, from a pure basketball sense....
LeBron and Wade are two players with high usage rates. It would have lead to them cannibalizing Rose and thus stunting his development. The same would have happened to PG/Gordon Hawyard. In plain English, there has to be enough minutes to spread around for younger players to develop.
The 2010-2011 (the first season with Lebron, Wade, and Bosh) Miami Heat stat pages supports my argument. The Big Three averaged 72 ppg combined. The players with next highest ppg average were Udonis and Bibby with 8 and 7.3 ppg, respectively.
Now I understand that D Rose was a much better scorer than the two I mentioned above, but he would have probably averaged around 12 ppg at best considering how much Lebron and Wade dominate the ball. Surely, he would have asked for a trade because of this.

Imagine Lebron, Wade, PG13, Bosh, and pre-injury Rose on the same team. 3 of the most athletic players of all time along with DPOY Joakim Noah and Chris Bosh playing the 4 with one of the only players who went face to face with Lebron in the playoffs coming off the bench. That team would win 75+ games, and if everyone stayed healthy, they win at least 6 championships. Imagine what the league would look like today.

Not a bad video but I have some strong disagreements. Thibs is a phenomenal coach. He usually gets the most out of his rosters. He was every bit as instrumental in the Celtics chip as Doc was... Heinrich was a hell of a player and the heart and soul of a lot of the Bulls teams he played on. He would have been a perfect complimentary player off the bench for this squad. Very good, versatile defender who plays within himself offensively and can providing good shooting and occasional play making... and while this scenario could result in D-Rose never getting hurt due to his usage rate going down significantly, he wouldn’t have been a good fit for the same reasons. Most of his skill set is on the ball, which isn’t going to happen on a LeBron team. They’d still win titles, cuz like you said, at some point talent overrides fit, but D-Rose wouldn’t be a good fit and would probably extremely unhappy in his role. He’d be a slasher without the ball on a team where Wade is already in that role, and I think by this point, Rose was better than Wade.

I think while this would’ve been awesome for one season, with Wade and LeBron and even potentially bosh, this team would’ve only been together for 2010-11. But then Noah’s contract would’ve been up and he’d leave because of the Bulls limited cap space. After 11-12 Rose’s contract would be up and he’d leave. Also in this scenario because PG/Hayward is a wing back up to wade/Bron for the next 4 seasons, they likely develop slower because their playing time is way more limited. Similar to how Jermaine O’Neal got barely any playing time backing up Sheed and Sabonis in Portland. Great video though, that super team would’ve been awesome for a season.

I like it, the only problem is that PG13 and Hayward would not be what they would become. To the Bulls, it makes a lot of sense not to trade Deng (Almost all-star caliber player and lockdown defender). Yes it’s kinda dumb for them to not put everything on line to get both Wade and James but to them, they were probably thinking that there was no way they wouldn’t get at least one chip in the 2010 decade with MVP caliber rose and the core around him. Now say they did actually make that trade, they walk the line of Wade and LeBron going to Miami anyway and if that happens, then it’s game over for Chicago and they’re further from the goal than where they started

For me, I think that trio would have been similar to this year's Lakers team in terms of the lack of spacing with the three superstars. Also, D-Rose would not have become an MVP, but at least it would've preserved his health somewhat since he wouldn't have had to carry the offensive load.

Not really. Lebron was obviously but not so much on Wade part. You got to remember (unless you were too young then) Cleveland was a small market team. It was also a shitty place to live. That city was known for all the choking it suffered through the years in all realms of sports. There’s a reason nobody good joined Lebron there in free agency his first go around.
