Dayve Nammour that’s a little rough mate. They did make the same position two years ago but bateman has brought a harder edge a more want to win mentality. But raiders weren’t jokers just underachievers. Plus a big off season of defence really helped.

Can't help but think the NRL didn't know how talented a player it was getting when he signed for canberra.the guy was a sensation at Wigan and he's well on the way to establishing himself as one of the great English exports in the company of Sam Burgess and Ellery Hanley

Story of my life lol I work with few of them driving trucks we communicate on 2way radio if you think that's bad wait until you hear them on the 2way LMAO.
His daughter was a Godsend and a blessing. It really grounded him and brought out the sort of wisdom that many young players lack (sadly). He showed patience to stay and build his career in England, put his daughter first and then after a few years he was ready to make the biggest step in his career.
Good on you mate, here's to many more great years in the NRL, and you are the reason people turn up to watch every weekend. 🍻🍺👊

Bateman is close to the best English player I have ever seen! Imo one of the most influential and inspirational players in the game! Tough, skillfull, uncompromising, has a constitution for work like no other! Bloody awesome player 🔥🐐🤙🏽
He's good, but in terms of forwards / back rowers Moz, Peacock, Ellis and Sammy are / were better imo. Not to say he cant improve further like.

What a champion!! I was watching Raiders vs Storm over the net in Dubai and when the flick pass got to Bateman, I was already jumping and cheering! That moment will live for a lifetime regardless of what happens in the next rounds. Well done mate!!
As a Saints fan I despised Bateman in a Wigan shirt but my word what a player he is. I don't think there is a better all round back rower in the game. Seems like a good bloke too.
Gaz Ellis still the best back rower we have produced for me mate. He was phenomenal for a full decade for Leeds and Wests Tigers.

imac hunt now he's shown he can handle the NRL he should stay mate, I'm English but the Super League is miles off the NRL. It cant be motivating for him to come back and play a poorer standard while he's in his prime.
