I went through maybe a week or so before you going the other way. Stayed at the same place in Lone Pine and had to bypass all the Death Valley stuff due to the road closures.
Beautiful country and very different from what we are used to in New England. First time that any of us had ridden in deep sand. I fell down five times over the course of the trip. A new record!
