I would be more so concerned that Sakurai ones again just copies Sonic the Fighters and ignores most of the rest of the franchise like he did with Sonic.

Dr. Eggman and Dr. Wily can be echoes of each other. They both ride ridiculously small round-shaped vehicles that have extending sharp weapons and elemental projectiles.
I agree with all of this. We definitely need eggman for smash soon, hopefully E3 because he’s arguably way more iconic than most of the dlcs we’ve already gotten through smash 4 and 5
Concept for an Eggman trailer: It starts off with the heroes vs villians slideshow from the Banjo trailer (with Cloud and Sephiroth added at the end) then it ends in static, which zooms out to show it was all playing on a monitor in Green Hill Zone. From here, Sonic and some fighters are strolling through GHZ, when suddenly a shadow appears over them. We zoom in on Sonic's face, as he turns around to look, and then smirks as if to say "alright, bring it on". We then get the Eggman Has the Master Plan splash screen and cut to gameplay. Afterwards, Sonic and the fighters beat Eggman and send him running. While they're celebrating, a blue glow appears offscreen which Sonic turns around to look at, this time, terrified. The source of this glow? Tabuu: the final fighter of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
This is a really cool and viable idea. Honesty can’t believe Nintendo haven’t added him yet, considering he’s one of the few universally iconic characters they’ve just been ignoring while scraping the bottom of the IP barrel; and the gameplay potential of his moveset would be just so refreshing in a game with so many similar sword/gun wielding characters.
You know, at first, I didn't really think Eggman would be a character I would be that excited to see. But the more I thought of it, the more it makes sense and the more I want it to happen! Great video, this really convinced me Eggman has lots of potential for an awesome moveset.
interesting idea. i had my own idea for a moveset for Eggman should he ever get the chance to join. His design i would largely base on his mech from SA2 though with some edits to make a little more closer to his standard egg o matic. legs would coming out of the bottom of it instead of bolted onto the side and he would still get a turrent on the back of it but wouldn't get the gun that is present on the front of the SA2 version. I would keep him as a heavy and he would have generally slower moves but his main focus would be on trapping and stage control. I imagined he would have a two hit jab where he uses his mechs legs to kick once with each. forward tilt i would make the boxing glove attack from SA2 with some good launch power to kill with. up tilt i had an idea that the turrent on his back would swing upwards or to the sides above him to attack. down tilt ive had a couple ideas my main one is that the two ends of the claw from the casino night boss pop out the sides and point in front of him and send a zap between them attacking in front of eggman. For his dash animation i had where he retracts his legs and pulls out wheels to go into a vehicle mode and his dash attack i had being the drill car from sonic 2 where a dril appears on his front attacking in front of him. for his smash attacks his forward smash i would use the hammer form the aquatic ruins boss up smash his turrent would basically point upwards and cause several explosions above him similar to Samus's down smash he would use the twin drills from the mystic cave boss and point them in the ground to each side of him and activate them causing some debri to appear as a sourspot compared to the drills themselves and thier point of impact. For his arials. i would keep his neutral air as the wreking ball but instead of spinning horizontally, i would have him spin vertically allowing the ball to attack clear around him and it can also represent his desperation attack from the first boss of Sonic 4 Forward air i would reuse the hammer again as it seems like a great spiking option. back air i would have use the bombs from his hydrocity boss in sonic 3 he would pop out a bomb behind him and nearly immediately it explodes dealing a lot of damage and knockback but also propells eggman forward and upwards a little which he can use to help recover or mix up his landing. up air i would use his drill from his boss in marble garden in sonic three. where a large drill comes out the top and back of his pod aimed upwards as it spins to attack. down air i imagined being a spike popping out under him like his spring yard boss in sonic 1, it would be one of his faster attacks and it can spike, but its hitbox would be smaller compared to most the rest of his moves. for his grab animation i have he pulls out the arms from his big arm boss fight and his pummel i had being the turrent firing into whoever is in the grip. forward throw and back throw i would keep as you have it with the glove for forward and a slam backwards for back throw. up throw however i had being he tosses them above him and the turrent fires a larger blast into them. down throw would be his attack with the arms in sonic 3. he hovers up a bit and then slams them into the ground Neutral special i have the same as you really with the lock on laser. i might have it end up differently though. with mine. when you press and hold the button eggman would stop moving and then you can aim the laser in any direction to lock on. I would maybe have a limit to a max of 5 lock ons and simply touching the laser on them can lock on them however i would add a detail that you can add further lock ons to the same target if you manage to hold the laser over them for a second or two for each additional lock allowing for easier hits or more damage. side special i wouldn't have be the car instead using his angel island boss from sonic 3, eggman would fire a large slow moving fireball in front of him. it would hit multiple times allowing for easy comboing from far enough away in the air the fireball would head diagnally down forward making it not bad for trying to gimp with. and even when used in the air when it hits ground it would just start moving forward along the ground. up special i had not the hover ability but rather his helicopter that he uses to leave the emerald hill boss. it would be similar to K rools but eggman would have more control during it, being able to move to the sides and adjust how fast he rises. down special i would have a similar idea but more geared for stage control. Instead of spawning an egg pawn Eggman would spawn one of his badnicks and depending on either how long you press the button or changing the angle of the stick after activation he would summon a different badnick. His three types would be the buzzbomber, crabmeat, and motobug. each one would be much different. the buzzbomber flies back and forth horizontally in the air either where eggman spawns it in the air or would go above his head level if used on the ground. it would be able to fire a blast diagnally downward. Crabmeat would walk along the ground back and forth slowly but can spawn and fire a couple blasts going in an arc from his claws. the motobug would move faster along the ground and when they see the opponent they will rev up and dash towards them to try and deal damage. they wouldn't be active hitboxes themsleves each having their own distinct attack and would be destroyed in a single hit or two but eggman would be able to have 2 out at a time to cover the most options. his final smash i would have being the death egg robo. but instead of a cinematic, the robo would spawn in the stages background and eggman would fly into it to pilot it and it would act similar to Bowers or pits final smash where a reticle appears on the stage to aim and fire the robots arms. the way i would make it distinct though is that the arm when fired would spin a little dealing some extra damage and he would get two shots, one for each arm. For his stage instead of the Death Egg im leaning more towards using his egg fleet from Sonic Heroes. It could be a sort of traveling stage where you can fight on various ships or various parts of the fleet and cannons in the background can attack those in the fight as part of a gimmick. it could be a traditional traveling stage where a platform picks you up and drops you off, but i also think it could be neat where to move from one place to the next the ship you are fighting on blows up or falls apart and everyone ends up falling through the air for a couple of seconds before they land on the the next ship/location where the fight continues and so on.
Dr. Egg Man would be one of the best choices to make as a character in Smash. Not because he’s just a classic villain because Sonic needs better representation in Smash. A few examples are not enough characters for a big franchise like Sonic and there should be more music also. Not the fact there’s only two stages for Sonic and they’re both basically Green Hill. But what is the most important thing is how can you have Sonic with out Egg Man. Doesn’t look weird to see a game especially if it’s like Smash. A gigantic crossover game and they have Sonic but they don’t have his villain that’s been with him ever since. That’s the true reason why Dr. Egg Man should be in Smash.

I can see it now...Eggman victory: Eggman hops out of his eggwalker and lazily scratches his ass like in the SA2 scene and says one of his SA2 ranking quotes "hmm that wasn't so difficult" or something ironic like "that was too close" I literally need this in my life now 😭
Fun fact: the StarFox and Kid Icarus characters have unique victory phrases when winning a fight against a character in their series. For example: if Dark Pit wins a fight against Pit, he’ll say “Where’s your goddess now” For his hypothetical moveset, I think Eggman should have something similar when winning a fight with Sonic. Maybe something like “Farewell Sonic, my admirable adversary” or “Stubborn little pincushion, give up and die already!”
I like to imagine Eggman joining Smash with a modified version of the EGG-HVC-001 from Sonic CD. It's modified that it's more agile and has a standard combat, but it's also equipped with a "quick switch" function that will allow him to switch between different boss-mechs he had for the eggmobile in past games to fill the nichés of his movesets. For example, I can imagine a down-special turn the eggmobile into the drill car from Sonic 2, similar to Wario's bike. As for his Final Smash... wrecking ball, with the player able to add momentum by tilting the control stick left and right. I also like to imagine his reveal trailer also introducing Metal Sonic as Sonic's echo.
I love your ideas, however if it were me, I'd rather have all his Specials being summons for the Badniks, to show his signature robot army more than just an Egg Pawn: Up Special would be a Buzz Bomber, Forward Special would be a Motobug, Back Special would be a Crabmeat and Down Special could be a Burrobot or even an Orbinaut. I know all those Badniks come from Sonic 1, they can be mixed up a bit to show even more of his progression, but him being a summoner type of character would also be a neat addition, as there are not many summoners outside of I think Olimar can be described like that. Sakurai always thinks of fun mechanics to add to the DLC fighters, and a summoning gameplay, alongside a super heavy weight, would suit the "never before seen" category in terms of gameplay
I like the idea of his moveset being a mix of both his classic and modern appearances instead of just sticking with SA Eggman. He's probably the sonic character I want the most in smash, aside from Metal Sonic as an echo

Eggman's reveal screen should say Eggman gets a load of smash. Also if he does make it in I feel like he would be a Bowser Jr clone, not that like thats a bad thing or anything. Also also I feel like his final smash should be him going into the death egg robot and going into the background like Bowser's final smash.
To expand on my aerial tilt idea, why not just make that for every tilt? That'd be the main thing that would make Eggman stand out from most characters, besides maybe Min Min except it's be all of his tilts. @@SuperMarioT xenosaga in Xenoblade is more like a kingdom hearts thing with Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy is a stand alone while KH uses the FF Cast. Xenosaga is stand alone as Xenoblade is doing the KH thing
eh i don't know how much i like that idea. Ryu and Ken already have that and not only do they have it on more moves than just their tilts, they have much more justification to doing so as it can simulate street fighter having light, medium, and heavy punches and kicks where as eggman would have no reason to really have that outside of having an excuse to have extra moves which is an excuse i find that can be given to any character.
If Eggman gets in as the final character, I will cook and eat every egg in the house as a means of coping with the fact that Crash Bandicoot didn't make it.
So yesterday, i was thinking of Kazuya as well as Heihachi, and then i think of the Heihachi Mii Costume, and then i think of the Tails Mii Costume, and then i realized something. *I just realized something yesterday. Jin and Kazuya were a lesser Dr. Eggman* Both of them have franchises where a character of theirs is a deconfirmed Mii Costume (Tails and Heihachi respectively) Whiling everyone in their mother is talking about Eggman from Sonic (bandwagon or not, more likely the former). Jin and Kazuya from Tekken, not so much. If anything, the idea of a Tekken rep not named Heihachi was over-looked as hell, in the shadow of the idea of a 2nd Sonic rep not named Tails (even tho were still people thinking he could happen), Shadow or Knuckles.
If Eggman gets into Smash and his moveset is based on SA2, I think the Ark moon laser would be a better Final Smash. It's way more iconic than the laser he uses during his fight.
if he's not strictly based on SA2 and is more loose with his inspirations, they could make his Final Smash the Egg Dragoon unleashing all of its attacks at once
After how i got Wolf back, Daisy, Ridley, K. Rool, and now Pyra/Mythra (preferably without Rex, which actually happened) all within one game. Eggman is *the last one i truly want*, and then everyone else form that that point onwards (like Bandana Dee, a zelda rep like Skull Kid, Sol Badguy, Dante, etc.) can just be considered a bonus. He would also be my main zoner for the rest of Ultimate's lifespan. (sorry Young Link, Belmonts, and Jr.)
One change I would make is the down throw. It should be him using the big arm from the big arm robot to grab the opponent and slam them down like the move from sonic 3. Also, I think the death egg robot is overused. His final smash should be the eclipse cannon.
nah i think eggmans final smash should be a long arm that goes across the stage (like in sonic unleashed). I don't have an idea for the actual cutscene, I just wanted something from sonic unleashed in his move set and this seems like a pretty good place to put it.
Depends on the villain, maybe a smidget miffed given Eggman's status and Sonic's general popularity, even with Sonic's fluctating critical game success.
Honestly they should just put Metal Sonic into the game as a Sonic enemy with Eggman in the background like the Pokemon trainer character, imagine seeing Eggman hitting down on his machine angry because you're beating up metal sonic or laughing and clapping when metal sonic kicks your ass🔵💨
While I think Eggman deserves to be in smash, and I think he'd have a great move set. Theres two things that make me think he isn't coming. One- The Sonic series isn't that popular in Japan. Sega has other ips that are more known and popular in Japan than sonic. (PSO2 and Puyo Puyo for example) So I'm not too sure if Nintendo would want another sonic character to join. Two- The Tails and Knuckles mii costumes have already returned. I feel if Dr. Eggman was coming, he would've came with the tails and knuckles Miis instead of Joker. But joker came with them. For example, the chocobo hat didn't come with hero, but came with sephiroth, who is a ff character, like a chocobo. I feel the same would have been done with another sonic character, but the miis already came back.
Banjo ain't that popular in Japan, western IPs most auto assume aren't that popular in Japan like DK, Crash, etc. are indeed popular in Japan. Even with that, Eggman is a generally popular character all around so he'd fit a similar bill as them or Ridley. Banjo didn't get any Mii costumes related to BK, neither did Byleth for Three Houses, or Pyra/Mythra for XC2 (Nia already had a Mii costume in the base game). Eggman doesn't need extra Sonic Mii costumes to be added when several already had only unrelated Mii costumes.

Tbh I just wish the next DLC character is a popular western one like crash spyro or even master chief.

@@SuperMarioT TBH, considering that out of Sephiroth's Three character themes, they only decided to include One (Winged Angel). I do think your list is a little overcentralized on Eggman. If he does get in I would expect a few tracks related to him, but mostly just general Sonic music. *As a matter of fact almost none of the DLC characters music choices have been very centralized on them. Joker and Terry had anywhere from half to the vast majority of their songs be from completely different games, Min-Min had a variety of character themes, and Steve didn't even have any music from his original game, though that likely had more to do with C418 then an active decision (Needless to say I don't buy that it's "too peaceful" when "Environmental Noises" are on the OST.).
Nah I would say eggman is more popular than k rool. Eggman is arguably the second most iconic villain in gaming history as Mario and sonic did have a famous rivalry back in the 1990s
I love King K. Rool & that's not even remotely true. The Legend of Zelda & Final Fantasy have dozens of millions more sales than the DKC Trilogy & 64 specifically where K. Rool was active, forget Sonic fits the former category as well. Forget Sephiroth, you can't discount Ganondorf bro.

Crabmeat would walk along the ground back and forth slowly but can spawn and fire a couple blasts going in an arc from his claws. the motobug would move faster along the ground and when they see the opponent they will rev up and dash towards them to try and deal damage. they wouldn't be active hitboxes themsleves each having their own distinct attack and would be destroyed in a single hit or two but eggman would be able to have 2 out at a time to cover the most options.
his final smash i would have being the death egg robo. but instead of a cinematic, the robo would spawn in the stages background and eggman would fly into it to pilot it and it would act similar to Bowers or pits final smash where a reticle appears on the stage to aim and fire the robots arms. the way i would make it distinct though is that the arm when fired would spin a little dealing some extra damage and he would get two shots, one for each arm.
For his stage instead of the Death Egg im leaning more towards using his egg fleet from Sonic Heroes. It could be a sort of traveling stage where you can fight on various ships or various parts of the fleet and cannons in the background can attack those in the fight as part of a gimmick. it could be a traditional traveling stage where a platform picks you up and drops you off, but i also think it could be neat where to move from one place to the next the ship you are fighting on blows up or falls apart and everyone ends up falling through the air for a couple of seconds before they land on the the next ship/location where the fight continues and so on.
Dr. Egg Man would be one of the best choices to make as a character in Smash. Not because he’s just a classic villain because Sonic needs better representation in Smash. A few examples are not enough characters for a big franchise like Sonic and there should be more music also. Not the fact there’s only two stages for Sonic and they’re both basically Green Hill. But what is the most important thing is how can you have Sonic with out Egg Man. Doesn’t look weird to see a game especially if it’s like Smash. A gigantic crossover game and they have Sonic but they don’t have his villain that’s been with him ever since. That’s the true reason why Dr. Egg Man should be in Smash.

Fun fact: the StarFox and Kid Icarus characters have unique victory phrases when winning a fight against a character in their series. For example: if Dark Pit wins a fight against Pit, he’ll say “Where’s your goddess now”
For his hypothetical moveset, I think Eggman should have something similar when winning a fight with Sonic. Maybe something like “Farewell Sonic, my admirable adversary” or “Stubborn little pincushion, give up and die already!”
I like to imagine Eggman joining Smash with a modified version of the EGG-HVC-001 from Sonic CD. It's modified that it's more agile and has a standard combat, but it's also equipped with a "quick switch" function that will allow him to switch between different boss-mechs he had for the eggmobile in past games to fill the nichés of his movesets.
For example, I can imagine a down-special turn the eggmobile into the drill car from Sonic 2, similar to Wario's bike.
As for his Final Smash... wrecking ball, with the player able to add momentum by tilting the control stick left and right.
I also like to imagine his reveal trailer also introducing Metal Sonic as Sonic's echo.
Now that Dante has been deconfirmed the only characters I really want are eggman and Sora I hope it becomes real.
I love your ideas, however if it were me, I'd rather have all his Specials being summons for the Badniks, to show his signature robot army more than just an Egg Pawn: Up Special would be a Buzz Bomber, Forward Special would be a Motobug, Back Special would be a Crabmeat and Down Special could be a Burrobot or even an Orbinaut. I know all those Badniks come from Sonic 1, they can be mixed up a bit to show even more of his progression, but him being a summoner type of character would also be a neat addition, as there are not many summoners outside of I think Olimar can be described like that. Sakurai always thinks of fun mechanics to add to the DLC fighters, and a summoning gameplay, alongside a super heavy weight, would suit the "never before seen" category in terms of gameplay
I like the idea of his moveset being a mix of both his classic and modern appearances instead of just sticking with SA Eggman. He's probably the sonic character I want the most in smash, aside from Metal Sonic as an echo

eh i don't know how much i like that idea. Ryu and Ken already have that and not only do they have it on more moves than just their tilts, they have much more justification to doing so as it can simulate street fighter having light, medium, and heavy punches and kicks where as eggman would have no reason to really have that outside of having an excuse to have extra moves which is an excuse i find that can be given to any character.
If Eggman gets in as the final character, I will cook and eat every egg in the house as a means of coping with the fact that Crash Bandicoot didn't make it.

So yesterday, i was thinking of Kazuya as well as Heihachi, and then i think of the Heihachi Mii Costume, and then i think of the Tails Mii Costume, and then i realized something.
*I just realized something yesterday. Jin and Kazuya were a lesser Dr. Eggman*
Both of them have franchises where a character of theirs is a deconfirmed Mii Costume (Tails and Heihachi respectively)
Whiling everyone in their mother is talking about Eggman from Sonic (bandwagon or not, more likely the former). Jin and Kazuya from Tekken, not so much.
If anything, the idea of a Tekken rep not named Heihachi was over-looked as hell, in the shadow of the idea of a 2nd Sonic rep not named Tails (even tho were still people thinking he could happen), Shadow or Knuckles.
If Eggman gets into Smash and his moveset is based on SA2, I think the Ark moon laser would be a better Final Smash. It's way more iconic than the laser he uses during his fight.
if he's not strictly based on SA2 and is more loose with his inspirations, they could make his Final Smash the Egg Dragoon unleashing all of its attacks at once
After how i got Wolf back, Daisy, Ridley, K. Rool, and now Pyra/Mythra (preferably without Rex, which actually happened) all within one game. Eggman is *the last one i truly want*, and then everyone else form that that point onwards (like Bandana Dee, a zelda rep like Skull Kid, Sol Badguy, Dante, etc.) can just be considered a bonus.
He would also be my main zoner for the rest of Ultimate's lifespan. (sorry Young Link, Belmonts, and Jr.)

One change I would make is the down throw. It should be him using the big arm from the big arm robot to grab the opponent and slam them down like the move from sonic 3. Also, I think the death egg robot is overused. His final smash should be the eclipse cannon.

While I think Eggman deserves to be in smash, and I think he'd have a great move set. Theres two things that make me think he isn't coming.
One- The Sonic series isn't that popular in Japan. Sega has other ips that are more known and popular in Japan than sonic. (PSO2 and Puyo Puyo for example) So I'm not too sure if Nintendo would want another sonic character to join.
Two- The Tails and Knuckles mii costumes have already returned. I feel if Dr. Eggman was coming, he would've came with the tails and knuckles Miis instead of Joker. But joker came with them. For example, the chocobo hat didn't come with hero, but came with sephiroth, who is a ff character, like a chocobo. I feel the same would have been done with another sonic character, but the miis already came back.
Banjo ain't that popular in Japan, western IPs most auto assume aren't that popular in Japan like DK, Crash, etc. are indeed popular in Japan. Even with that, Eggman is a generally popular character all around so he'd fit a similar bill as them or Ridley.
Banjo didn't get any Mii costumes related to BK, neither did Byleth for Three Houses, or Pyra/Mythra for XC2 (Nia already had a Mii costume in the base game). Eggman doesn't need extra Sonic Mii costumes to be added when several already had only unrelated Mii costumes.

@@SuperMarioT TBH, considering that out of Sephiroth's Three character themes, they only decided to include One (Winged Angel). I do think your list is a little overcentralized on Eggman. If he does get in I would expect a few tracks related to him, but mostly just general Sonic music.
*As a matter of fact almost none of the DLC characters music choices have been very centralized on them. Joker and Terry had anywhere from half to the vast majority of their songs be from completely different games, Min-Min had a variety of character themes, and Steve didn't even have any music from his original game, though that likely had more to do with C418 then an active decision (Needless to say I don't buy that it's "too peaceful" when "Environmental Noises" are on the OST.).
