I’m really excited for this one. Tom I have to say, the way you describe this it’s very easy for me to understand as a beginner. Even down to the simple shapes of the ends. As silly as it sounds, I didn’t know why it was called a canoe until you showed that. But you know me I like to just have fun and don’t claim to be an expert of anything. I’m excited to see north stars video, and to check out this knife! I’m a bit behind with work life at the moment but plan on working on the traveling knife this weekend. Kinda paying for taking an extra week with my daughter down the beach but it was worth it to me.

Take your time to get back into the groove. Your daughter will have some great memories of time spent with dad. NSKR has posted his Hamm's review, and it's great!

Thanks Tom! I have a Buck Canoe, will add some RR in the future. Nice park, everybody dreams of hitting a homer.

I think I only got a double because I stood at the plate and watched the ball. I was sure it was a homer! Oh, the disappointment. lol Thanks for watching Dave.

Seems the two things you need to have a knife channel are, a sticker, and a box of bandaids. 😅

What position did you play when you played baseball? I had a great batting eye, but couldn’t hit to save my life. I played left in Little League and a bit of center in Babe Ruth League. But my primary position was pitcher; I was and am right-handed, but between a rib injury and being 5’7”, as well as violent control problems out of the stretch (thank God for my catcher for not losing patience with my extra practice sessions, where I was at least able to get my sinker and palmball over out of the stretch).
Oddly, I have never had a canoe in my collection. The closest I can tell you I used was a Case Butterbean belonging to a former local deputy sheriff in red jigged bone. It came with a few issues, but he knew a guy in TX who would fix them. Then he’d whittle with them, and I wish I had more of his pieces. He made a wood-bodied pen and an O scale fence and railing for me before losing the use of his hands due to a seizure. A master at his craft.

I played a variety of positions, but mostly I was a catcher. And to be honest, I was not the best athlete but really enjoyed playing baseball. I know that you primarily collect and showcase modern folders, but you may want to start picking up some traditional slipjoints. There are many "budget" brands that don't hurt the wallet. Thanks for watching my friend!

@@knifedelights7473 Happily! The irony is that when it comes to baseball--since yes, I am a baseball historian--my favorite areas of study would probably be, on balance, the Dead Ball Era (including the pre-1900 Major Leagues and Minor Leagues) and the 1945-1962 "Transitional" Period that led to Minor League Realignment after the 1962 season.

I just struggle big time with buying a chinese product if i have an option.. sometimes i dont have an option... Then i go to cheap pricing.. lol.. that buck does look nice.. i think i would spend a couple dollars more and buy a different one though.. bear and sons has one for about 32 dollars i think made in u.s. and of course case.. reward companies for staying here instead of running off to slave labor.. sorry about the rant.. yes I'm guilty of buying Chinese stuff too.. but i avoid it when possible

    • @knifedelights7473

I struggle also, James. Unfortunately, there are just some patterns that are only made in China, so we are forced to buy from them. I try to buy USA made as much as possible. Thanks for watching, my friend.
