I'm excited because this seems like something you could apply to NPCs themselves. Imagine that not just being mindless schedule-based repetition. Where a game can unfold in many ways based on the choices the AI is making that you might not even see a lot of the time.

Honestly, knowing how A.I works - if there's a possibility to get more - he'll always go for more, so he's predictable in a lot of ways. I love how Six is gaining a somewhat defined personality. Resourceful and curious, but at the same time stoic and a bit scatterbrained (though I doubt that last one was intentional on the chatbot’s part). Interesting stuff! I decided to use Chat GPT where I acted as the DM for my character and had him share his thoughts and what action he wanted to take at any moment before I rolled a D20 dictating what happens in each speech check, combat situation, etc, and without being as confined to the in-game options he managed to take so many routes that really added to the rp. For example, those two powder gangers that are nearby Good Springs at that one campfire? He got into a firefight with them but ended up recruiting them, with full backgrounds and descriptions of each original character.
Six really pulled a Forrest Gump and walked all the way to the Mojave Outpost just to say to himself “I forgot to say Hi to Trudy.” and then walk all the way back to Goodsprings.😂

Really liking this series so far, one thing thatd be interesting to do, is when it comes to (the fairly uncommon) situations like seeing joe cobb first in the bar blackmailing trudy, is if you paused the game and told Six about what is going on, and gave him the choice whether or not he should talk to cobb, attack cob, or wait for the encounter to play out and then talk to trudy, I think it would've been interesting to see if Six would've chosen to attack cobb or not at first, obviously you cant give him that choice with every npc, but itd be interesting for certain questlines.
This neeeeds to blow up. Such a great idea, and it's executed so properly. I love how you don't deviate from the A.I. at all. I know it's just for the content at the end of the day, but I know how hard it must be to resist just going off and playing the game. Six is also developing into a very likable character. I hope this gets recognized enough by a company to remaster this game. Not that the version obsidian realized back in 2010 isn’t good. This version of the game will for as long as I live be the best version of this game, imagine they make a whole new engine for this game because it is the most loved by the fallout community. This series is the coolest I’ve seen so far in the past few years. Courier six has a lot he’s done before we play him when Benny shoots him in the face. Giving the information the AI has I’m curious about what his decisions would be with Ulysses from the divide dlc. Thank you for the new series. I will be watching every video. :)
Shovel is legit a very solid weapon for melee enemies. If you just walk around in a circle swinging, nothing ever hits you and it has good range. I always switched to it early game for fighting geckos in my randomized very hard playthrough
My hope is that in the future you ask Six what if any items they want to use. Keep Six alive like you have been of course, but also maybe he wants to use chems and such occasionally, or specific ammo types.
I will tease that in the next video I let him choose weapons. In terms of chems and ammo types, that is simply too much. There's a flow to the videos - there is a level of "less is more" which has to be balanced
Theres winning card combinations for your caravan deck( i only buy cards of 6, 7, 9 and 10). i love fleecing Cliff Brisco of all his money every playthrough.
regarding Caravan, the best way to win is to stack your deck with 6s, 10s, Jacks and Kings - place a 10 and a 6 and then King the 10, instant 26, use the Jacks to undo the opponents move to overweight your stack or to remove their cards What I do, if the first 8 cards are nice, is place them all down and then try to get there, I tend to not focus on one as that'll give the opponent ample chance to fuck you over, get a 10 and 6 on each one then King them all while sabotaging the Opponent, its mostly foolproof
I really enjoy this series and the premise of it so far, I hope it goes to the end of the game and inspires others like it. I would prefer that it becomes a bit more organized and that Six is given more options and input on certain things, but I understand that that's tedious work on you and this is still fine and fun to watch.
You should inform six of the thresholds for each of the skills being usually 25, 50, 75 and 100 for lockpicking, etc. He might distribute the skill points in a better fashion and would be cool to see if he does change. Maybe he'll make more decisive decisions with skill points and narrow his strategy. Also, informing him of the weapons and tactics you were using to fight was a good choice with the knife. I'm not sure if you mentioned your use of explosives and the damage you took. That may influence the AI's perk/skill choices.

I love this series. Such a creative way to do a playthrough. Though, I did wish the AI was a bit more unstable, it's a very plain creature overall. But that's the result of using a literal machine. Edit: Just after I hit enter, he threatens to kill a man. Perfect.

This inspired me to replay this game all these years later. Installed mods including sprinting and it works with a Xbox 360 controller, in heaven!
