Here’s something terrible about this mode
Scout: Ok boss we’ve got either the kid from Wigan athletic scored 40 goals from September to January in the championship alone and has carried Wigan to the top of the table or we can sign Kyle Vassell instead who’s got 2 goals in all competitions

Oh yes. And having a contract duration would help too. You start on like 4k a week at your first club, and if you stay there you'll still be on 4k a week 6 years later as a 93 ovr. Lol
You literally get that in Pro Evolution Soccer 19, I signed a 2 year deal, if they can have that, FIFA 19 can add it.

Player career has been the exact same for about 6 years now
even more i think, it used to be pretty cool actually:
- there were 2nd teams for each team in the game, where generic youth players and the low performing 1st team players were playing. you always started in the 2nd team and had to work your way up to the 1st. (FIFA 10)
- your morale was changing and influencing your performance/stats (boost)
- you could even learn an additional position i think, now it's only one (you cant change it for your entire career), while other players have multiple positions assigned
there is so much to improve, the list goes on and on. Would be nice if they just brought back the old stuff, even that would change the gamemode drastically.
i hope ea doesn't fuck up once more with FIFA 20.......

Same as manager career, neither make EA money from downloads. One big fix. I have stopped buying fifa having bought it every year since it started (I am 48 years old)
They made a lot of terrible in fifa 17.
Me as my pro: OK. I’ve just played a full 90 minutes and there’s a cup match against Mansfield in a couple days, the manager will probably want to save me for the big game against Chelsea because I’m low on energy.
Manager: You’re playing in the next game against Mansfield and even if you run out of energy and collapse from exhaustion, I’m not gonna sub you off. I’m gonna sub off Rashford who’s still got half of his energy left.
This just shows how little effort EA puts into career mode

To sim matches, go into calendar and sim past them. For me my player never ends up playing those games

Just found out that there’s a regen in my squad with 99 acceleration and pace, and he’s got 95 dribbling and ball control with 84 finishing. He’s a 88 overall. Somehow, even though he’s the same position as me, my player with 70 overall has the starting position. LOGIC.
Player: I have such good stats! Surely I'll start next game.
Boss: Nah, I think I am just gonna pick this kid right here coz he is so... Idk figure it out for yourself

I don't like the fact that you can spend your whole career at one club like Manchester United start of at rating 71 on £17,000 per week and by the end of your career be 93 rated and still on £17,000 per week

I got 89 goals and 56 assists this season, and somehow Harry Kane won the player of the year award. I swear to god I spent hours playing a whole year just to get good stats but this game's broken

Manager will play the same formation for the whole career. You do not get any instructions (stay central, high pressure etc). Defense too good and attack too bad. Some more things to add
The problem with bad call for a pass is when they penalise you for them literally aiming for nobody.
I always thought 'bad call for a pass' should be renamed 'call for a bad pass' being as, 90% of the time, that's what'll happen.

That happened to me with PSG, the manager would only play me in champions League and still give me objectives for games he wasn't playing me in
In Fifa 18 I started at Gladbach but requested a loan out to Magdeburg in 3. Liga because I was getting no game time. My form was apparently so good in 1 season that I somehow became a regular starter for the German national football team. When I got back my rating was way higher than anyone in the 1st team but I still wasn't played and inevitably the manager is upset I haven't become top scorer despite not being in the stadium.
You have to start out at 20 years old, not like 17 like you should.

You can be 90 rated and not get played because your position doesn't fit the team formation

Why do u have to hand in a transfer request. Why can't teams try buy me. Not every player hands in requests
I feel like the best way to do a career mode is to create your own player separately in the edit menu, then select that player in the career mode. This way you can start off at a way lower rating than normal and have your preferred gear/accessories/hairstyle set from the get go.
Also the fact that the positions are broken as well, whenever I try to play midfield it puts me in striker no matter what

What I also hate is that at the beggining of the games where they announce the players names, your name is not called and when you are getting subbed off the same thing happens. Also when you are the best player for your team and score loads of goals every game another player on your team ends up winning player of the month!

The sadest thing happend to me with a player carrer mode. It was fifa 17 I believe, Leipzig were in the Bundesliga 2 and I helped them get up not losing a single game. Germany calls me up for the european cup, training was hella op and I was like 83 rated. Even if my Leipzig manager was not happy with my season. This part really makes me angry, Germany played me one game, then benched, then played me again. So when I went to the semi finals and started I knew that Ozil would play the final. I think I also scored the only goal in semis and was hoping and praying for them to start me. But no Ozil started and we won but I saw nothing.... This is one of many reason I never bought fifa 19, I dont want to support Ea

well you can sometimes sim the games. depends on the coach saying if "you are in for the next match" email since its the first season there. If your rating is great, then you can just automatically play every game and if you dont want to, just sim to the next date, sim the game in there, or request the sub in the beginning of the game
In player mode sometimes the manager doesn’t choose u and u sim the match or u go on the calendar and sim that match yourself. Keep playing your player career and it will happen
it's so bad. if I'm playing lb and I go forward I have approximately 0.003 seconds to get back in position before my rating goes down

You can "play controlling team" and there's no penalty for being out of position. It also helps you fudge the monthly objectives when you make every other player pass to you, lol.
It's not really player career if you're controlling the team I s'pose, but its less dull.

I did this to skip some pointless International matches - and got dropped from my club side for nearly a month and my national team for the next two squads. My 97 rating at the time made me, at least in theory, the best player on the planet at the time and basically undroppable.
Starting a career mode as Alisson and getting a pre season friendly against Internacional is kind of poetic tbh, brought back some memories

I got transfer offer at 7 season which considerably too long, i had won 2 golden boot back to back in 6 and 7 season and i got transfer offers
Fifa should make a online career mode, where you play player or manager career mode but you face real opponents across the world and you can buy and sell players to each other.

The worst thing about the positional indicator is when you get injured because you literally can't move but your rating gets destroyed because you're out of position
To also top it off everything the opposing AI does takes priority over your friendly AI. Also every team feels like you're playing Barcelona even the teams from league 2
What about the fact that objectives only include league games.
Objectives: Score 4 goals
Me: score 5 in UCL, 2 in the 4 games of league (because I was picked only to one league game)

Also if you don't play the 4 games because you were not picked you also fail the objectives
You have vorgotten point #10 the objectives to get better are BROKEN AF!!! I mean for example for jumping headed goals i literally had to do twice of what was needed because EA doesn't manage to fix their bulls**t game

and last but not least in 2018 we as a professional football player are still not allowed to decide to which club we want to transfer (if we want to transfer). we must wait for other clubs to come to our manager and also we are not allowed to arrange the contract or doesn't even know how long our contract lasts which footballer has no clue about his contract i mean this is ridiculous

Yeah I think being a keeper just isn't something fun to simulate in a video game.
I agree with you, but FIFA simply isn't doing it. I could run around the whole pitch and opponent's players would never score a goal, wouldn't either try to shoot unless they're 20 meters or less away from the goal

Late but when you go goalkeeper you always end up making the sliders so that the opposing team have a higher chance of scoring and you raise the difficulty just so they actually take shots but when they do that of course they’ll score every time

And I'm a rf and the manager changes me to a rw! He gives me POOR TACKLE for every single tackle I miss and sometimes, when I'm at 9.6rating and score a goal , my manager doesn't give me any extra rating! and don't even get me started on gk game mode my manager expects an 8.3 rating which is like impossible unless you score as the goalkeeper
