The new feature in FIFA 15 Career Mode was actually how you view your team in the team management. This was the first FIFA that didn't have the players in a list like in FIFA 14, and even today the feature has stayed intact. The "Instructions" tab was another new feature. You could've found out with a bit more digging but I don't blame you, the remaining features were basically the same so you understandably gave up early.
FIFA 15 was very revolutionary for FIFA. It took customising the setup of your team to a new level. Plus interestingly, AI managers could use them on the default settings meaning although they stay same for a team until the end of career, that team would always transfer players that compatible it! And if you play with a player that is compatible with multiple positions at the current formation of his team, he could be put to these positions if it's better, by AI managers! Of course it's impossible(FIFA still uses it!) with pros and created players but it's possible with real players with multiple positions or edited players with cheat table/live editor(PC only).
Hi BFord, My favourite song on FIFA 18 is "Found what I've been looking for" by Tom Grennan. I always loved it when that song came up while I was playing FIFA on my PS4. I would always have this song on repeat whenever I wanted motivation for an upcoming match I had to play in career mode. Though it's been six years since its release, I still play it cause to me, this is the FIFA game that really touches my heart. It would be an honour if you could add it to your ultimate playlist of FIFA songs.
