I don’t even attempt Youth Academy Objectives 99% of the time.
Jordan Johnston The problem is, the minor objectives, such as Youth academy and Brand exposure, actually mean a lot to the board and could get you sacked.
My objective is to find a youth player and let him play 50% of games next season

In my career mode Man U had 5 Strikers that were rated 80-90 and they were still at the bottom of the league midseason. As soon as I played them I saw why, because they always let their youth player play at front (rating 72) and their right back was also a youth player. I checked these players stats and they played through the whole season not just against me. Fix your game ea.
This bugs the hell out of me, youth players play all season long while 1st team players hardly play

Literally the most annoying thing in career mode! Teams spend hundreds of millions on players and literally never play them
In my career mode, Bakambu signed for Burnley (questionable transfer but alas) and he played 3 games all season and scored 4 goals but Burnley’s leading striker Luuk de Jong of all people, played 30+ games with 5 goals
in mine psg puts Neymar at the bench
In my career mode in FIFA 17, I got Rashford in a loan to buy deal. After 2 years, the loan was over and I won the Champions League. Rashford didn't want to sign with me tho, he preferred to stay with Manchester United, even though they had Kane, Griezmann, Dybala and Sterling on the same team (and they only played one of them each game). So he'd rather be the 4th option on United than being the starter on the team that just won the Champions.

Had to make 4.4 million by selling youth academy players. Sold one for 2.8 million and one for 1.7 million. Progress? : 0%
I had the fucking same thing happen. I have a youth player only career mode and it said I had 27 (all my players) eligible players i could sell for a total of 5 million. I sold 6 for 12 million total. 0% progress.

agreed! make a £10m profit on youth players in 2 seasons.. to scout players good enough will cost you £6m and you'll then have to try and grow someone from a value of £500,000 to about £20m in a season and a half

South American related so probably not that important, but as an argie who plays careers on the argentine league, it's annoying as hell to see argentinian clubs buying players from anywhere other than south america. That happens like once every decade IRL.

Funnily enough in FIFA 15 ypu got Loan and Transfer Requests from logical countries. I had a youth player in the Prem and Stevenage requested a loan, in the Bundesliga I got a request from like Freiburg or Union Berlin.
In the older games usually clubs in the same country give loan offers or you got a offer from a league 2 side eg Stevenage call up bayern Munich we will take your 35 rated CB but in the New games a English youth striker about 62 rated is getting loan offers from China, Brazil, Saudi Arabia ect
it also sucks that we cant change kit numbers for the other teams like ive seen lukaku in real madrid with number 47 or suarez joining psg and getting number 42 which looks really odd
I dont know wy, but since years in CM the AI bench their topplayers basecly every game. I had a pro player carreer with ManU and the first and a half season i played with Romero in goal and De Gea only played in Carabao Cup...
Same thing with other Starplayers like Kane & Messi, they always come from the bench and play maybe a third of the season. So there is the reason wy they show up in the scorerslist, because they dont get play time.
Career mode was clearly designed by none football people.
am I the only one that gets annoyed when you get a few years into a career the players in AI starting lineups end up getting stupid numbers?? like in a lot of my careers Grizi will go to the premier league and he always gets a number like 38 but then if the same team calls up a youth academy player he might wear the number 9 jersey. maybe i’m being too critical but I really hate it when the numbers in starting lineups look that unrealistic
thank fuck im not the only one who gets annoyed at this!! Its one of the main reasons i cant play career mode because when top players go to other clubs they get weird numbers like 38, 47, 48 and i just cant stand it. We should have an option to change kit numbers for the ai teams
Your not the only one. This plus the unrealistic transfers are the main reasons why i never play more than three seasons in a career before i start over again

players in the last 6 months of their contract, only having the option to pre-sign them for the next season. When Fifa first brought this feature in you could bid, and the bid could be low because the selling club would be willing to drop the value of the player
You had the choice back then either do a traditional pre contract or pay a low transfer fee

Right, just gonna point this out in case you haven't figured it out yet (hoping you actually read this comment). Loaning players is glitched, it's not that the player doesn't wan't to get loaned it's just the ea being stupid. BUT there is a fix: first add the player to the loan list (obv.), then when you get a loan offer either negotiate the loan or just straight up accept it. When you have accepted the offer, remove the player from the loan list and then add them to the transfer list 99% of the time players are gonna actually get loaned out. Obviously this fix isn't an excuse for the problem being here, but hopefully people who don't know of this fix will find this helpful.
This trick had always worked perfectly for me... until my team made the Premier League. And then all my loans (and transfers) were breaking down. The transfer list trick circumvents a sort-of all-loans-breaking-down bug, but it doesn't fix shitty players on premier league teams being suddenly too uppity for the lower leagues. I've wanted to scream at my players, "You're a goddamn 61 overall! You're not going to get an offer from another fucking Premier League team!"

I think this goes along reason #2 but I have an 88-rated Jadon Sancho on my team and I rest him every now and then for like one or two matches yet he's like:

Topscorers also never score enough goals. You won’t see the PL top scorer score just 18 goals. Salah got 32, Kane got 29 and 25 before I think. And also you see teams like Huddersfield, Southampton and Palace fighting for CL spots and maybe even PL title EVERY season

My youth academy objective in first season sign 5 youth players. In second season : sign at least 1 player from youth academy and play with him in 70% of home matches.

Has anyone noticed that in career mode lately AI teams are making broken signings= I am in the first season of my Fulham career mode and Man City have signed Talisca (who surely can't be bought as he is on loan in China) and Wolves have signed Pereira (who is on loan at Watford). How is it that we can't sign them but the AI don't care EA.
In my save Man U has 15 RBs:
Carvajal, Oridozola, Sergi Roberto, Kimmich, Valencia, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Hakimi and Clyne and 4 youth academy players

I hate when teams stockpile all the best players. In my career Barca currently have pique, t, silva, romangnoli, boetang, umtitti..? like whyyy
Randomly came across this, the POTM is so unrealistic, In my season with Liverpool, Salah was injured and played one game the whole month and somehow won the award.
Another things i find unrealistic is how its easy to beat top teams, but hard to beat bottom teams. As well as younger players who wanted to be loaned not accepting the contract terms with other teams.
Finally early. Hyped for the box v4 tomorrow.
First season of my Newcastle career mode I've had:
Dummett, Ritchie, Hayden, Woodman (loan), Clark, Elliot and Murphy moving to Marseille, Lyon, Buenos Aires, Alanyaspor, Villarreal, Genk and Besiktas respectively, also had Colback moving to South America on my FIFA 18 save after I released him as he was continuously turning down clubs after I transfer listed them.
Lowest ever points tally for the title winners in PL history already.
With a week to go in the season, Sigurdsson is the leading scorer with 18.
Chelsea at home brought forward by four days because of an EFL Cup game scheduled for two days after the original date yet when Burnley drew in the FA Cup 5th round and the replay was scheduled for the night I was meant to play them in the PL, it was switched to two days after the Huddersfield game.

When your managing Arsenal and they tell you to finish in a champions league position. You’re first game is home vs Man City- you understandably loose 1-0. You then play Chelsea and loose 2-1. You’re managing rating plummets to 71. FIFA ligic
I remember I did a rtg in 18 and Palace got relegated all the way to EFL 1. When I looked at their roster, they were playing some random 5’7” midfielder at GK. They still had a team of 75 rated players in EFL 1, but wouldn’t sell one for a GK for literally THREE YEARS. The only reason they had a keeper afterwards was because I basically gave them my 3rd choice for free after he complained about playing time as a 20 year old 65 OVR in the Championship (I had already developed 2 YA GKs to 82 and 75 OVR)
So I just got messi and the day before the FA CUP and he got a training injury I almost drove to EA headquarters and shit in there mouths
Another thing is that i play as Liverpool in career mode and every transfer window, man united comes flooding in wanting my players, the game has no recognition of major rivalries, it just simply would never happen.
When i played FIFA 15, it was sometimes hard to sign some players, example i played with Bayer and i was trying to sign some guy from south america they didnt want because my country. Also players could get homesick, Ronaldo wanted out of my team because he was homesick
I remember on ‘17 when RTG was hard. I did it with Morcambe and THAT WAS AMAZING. Now you can go to Macclesfield Town and win the prem in your 5th season.
I agree with you about the objectives. Half of them don't even concern the senior manager like shirt sales, youth objectives and profits. The youth team objectives are for the youth team managers and the owners/directors handle the other financial side of things. Only domestic, continental and transfer objectives should apply to the senior manager IMO.
Great video, in my career mode in the prem harry kane has been for me in the top 3 goal scorers for like four seasons until Neymar signed with liverpool
In my manager career Lazio Roma became like a European giant in 1 season, they won the EL in my first season with Ajax (i won the CL) and I got knocked out by them by pk's in the semi's while I had a team that was sooo much better, and now they're just constantly playing CL and reaching the semi's or quarter finals every time

In Player Career Mode you don't have any say in the terms of contracts. There's no negotiation, and worst of all, no end date. So if my player becomes crucial in a bad club, it's hard to move on to bigger clubs due to the fact that the club isn't willing to sell my player very easily. And you can't just wait until the contract expires, because it never does. And it's quite frustrating being stuck playing with an 85+ overall player in a 65 average team/league.
One of the most infuriating things has to be that if you sign a player to a 1 year contract, you can’t resign them! The “contract negotiation” portion in the squad hub is just gone. I’ve lost a few good starting players this way
2 things piss me off the most. Sprinting down the flanks with a speedster like Coman, I'm even flicking the right analog stick to cover ground quicker, and fucking Ben Mee catches up to me in less than a second when I left him 20 yards behind. Playing a player career, my guy is a CM rated 90 overall and the whole midfield is no less than 88 overall. Except for one, he'll be 70-75 and yet gets to start every single game over the likes of De Jong and Milinkovic-Savic.

The squad role system is broken in general. I have had crucial and important players complaining about game time when they've played 19 out of 20 games that season. The one game they missed was a cup game against a lower league team where I rotated the squad. One month later I don't change their play time at all and they come back thanking me for giving them more game time.
Brighton & Hove Albion are genuinely the actual bane of my existence. They play so deep for 89.5 minutes, before lumping it up to that 64 year old Glenn guy, and beating me 1-0. And also game, 36 year old geezers from Carlisle do not want to play in Mexico or flipping Colombia just get a life.

To loan players out go into squad hub after accepting the loan bid, remove the player from the loan list and add him to the transfer list and sim a few days. It is the only way I can loan out youth academy players whatsoever and it works 95% of the time
What annoys me is the fact that even if a loan offer is brought in from the same nation my youth academy players that I just brought up will rarely ever accept it
I think that the Yo-Yo problem has a lot to do with how age is the only factor which makes a player’s stats drop
its really easy to loan out players, just negotiate the deal and do a 60-40 split on the wages and then it works nearly every time
The Prem big six get relegated way too frequently. Happens every single career mode within 5 seasons for me.

In my career mode (my player), as a young American, started in MLS, transferred to a club in Denmark, than got a random loan offer (I never requested for a loan and they didn't put me on the loan list) from some club in Turkey. Also they offered me $10,000 a week. I was making under $2,000 a week in my 2 previous clubs.
As for manager mode, they wanted 2 academy players to grow by 10 rating and I think play 10 games, but training them and growing them is almost impossible.
in my swedish career mode with Trelleborgs FF, the only clubs that came in with bids were from Argentina, US and Brazil. Very rarely any domestic clubs.
To go with what you said about the top scorers, Harry Kane won my golden boot in season 1 so all good so far but he won it with 18 goals, it’s a joje
You should make another video about the ridiculous transfers the AI makes in manager and player career mode. For example, Juventus spending €75m on Immobile in the same transfer window as buying Ronaldo??? Or Man City spending £100m on Lewandoski mid-season when they have Aguero and Jesus (who were both top 5 scorers in the league at the time). And why would Munich even sell Lewandoski in the first place? Just makes literally no sense

To make sure all your transfers and loans go through and don't break down you have to accept the loan/transfer then go to squad hub and take them off the loan list and put them on the transfer list or take them off the transfer list and put them back on the transfer list once you've accepted the offer for that player. This will make sure any loan or transfer offers you receive will not break down and will go through

the 30 games for the youth objective is between those 5 players combined but still a ridiculous objective
Totally out of context, but I found that your gameplay to be better than mine (struggling against world class difficulty) actually learnt more about playstyle than the actual point of the video lol. I do agree about the whole vid though, been playing career mode since fifa 13 and it's stupid, probably won't make any difference in fifa20.
there was a yuth academy fool i put on loan, but every time i get offer, i accept, but the negotiations break down all the time
why can’t you ever sign loan players yet other teams always deal in loans. sometimes you want to sign someone on loan but it says the club isn’t interested in loaning the player whilst they negotiate a loan deal with another club for the same player

Idk if it's just me but in every new career mode I start it's always Everton, Leicester, and Crystal Palace that are in the top 4 or top 6 and Man City in like the bottom half or mid table, every single time
10) some big teams are literally super easy to beat but when u play a very weak club the game could be super hard
is it just me but when i do the odd sim game on career mode , the opposition get a red card do they become harder to beat , you play a cup game against lower league side , you go two nil up they get a red card and bang they come back to beat you or at least draw the game .. i have never watched a game where ten or nine men are capable of a come back like that ..

The last point....Is something in terms of player morale and things of that nature that in any sports game that the AI doesn't have deal with. It's mostly a fifa issue, but if you have a squad just deep enough to rotate them (which you have to do with how jammed the schedule gets) You'll lose games because of simming because you couldn't physically start your best team or you're in desperate need of a few wins and the #3 CB who players every 3rd game get's pissy and wants sold because he's not playing enough to his liking.
Meanwhile the 3rd string Striker who's 84 Rated on a team is apparently content with doing nothing and they won't take less than 55 mil to sell him.
