My partner and I got a 2016 model Evoque in December with 57,000km on it for about $40kAUD, and for the first few months was problem free. First log book service was scheduled for March so we took it in, they did their thing, and a few days later we get DEF low. Turns out this was not part of the service, which they forgot to mention, and we didn't even know what DEF was at the time. A bit of research and we figured it out, topped it up and all is well. Now we're getting DEF Quality Incorrect error and the dealer is saying they need to replace the DPF (no errors about DPF in the car) with a $6k repair bill. We got a 2 year 200,000km warranty on it, but apparently this isn't covered? and they also tried to suggest it was our fault for using the car wrong. The day this error appeared was in the middle of a 160km round trip through country highways, which is.. exactly the type of driving they said would fix it. So now we have a dealer trying to rip us off, refusing warranty, and a car that is threatening to permanently shut down in 500km if we don't pay to fix it. Sure it's a lovely car to look at and drive, but it was already stretching our budget to get something this nice for a change, only to have them try to take more money 6 months later. Fuel economy isn't exactly great either. 4.5L/100km highway and 6.1L/100km city is what's claimed, yet we get 8.6 and 10.8 respectively, almost double. Neither of us are remotely leadfooted and prefer a smooth and casual drive.
@@fionabanyai4971 Thanks for the reminder, I forgot I made this post Yes we still own the car, and have decided that the original RangeRover dealership we purchased it from are just hopeless. Went to a different RR dealer (funnily enough only a few streets away from the first, but not associated with them), prepared our wallets for a big hit and hoped for the best. But then, in just 45 mins they diagnosed the problem, provided a software update and magically fixed everything, even topped up the DEF fluid too. Gave my partner a fancy latte while he waited and didn't even charge a cent, saying it was a known software bug that RR decided not to create an official recall for. Fuel economy improved dramatically (still not quite as good as the spec sheet, but damn close), and the DPF now regenerates much more often while consuming less DEF fluid each time. It was a stressful time in the beginning, but since then the car has been so good and trouble free I honestly forgot it even happened.
@@MotoCat91 ohh cool your in australia. So i just bought a 2016 hse dynmanic. 70k on the clock. Past history has been serviced at LR in adelaide. With alot of negative comments i hope it doesnt die on me. So glad to hear your issue is resolved. Where you take it makes a massive difference to how your car runs. Glad your enjoying it Thanks for the reply 👌👌
the Gospel is that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD and thus we all deserve eternity in hell, an eternity of judgment. BUT, in GOD's great love and mercy, He sent His only begotten SON into the world to die for the world's sins and to be risen for its justification, that whomever from the world would believe in Him would be saved and have life everlasting. Amen.

The fly in the ointment for the 2.0L Ingenium diesel engine from that era are plastic runner timing chains failing, causing immense damage. Replacing them is costly too.
I have owned a Jaguar X type for 10 years.Although I have been pleased with the car, every time I need to fix something the agents part prices are crazy here in South Africa. I replaced a wheel for $100 USD from UK (local agency wants $450 USD) Actuator needed replacing, locally from Agents they will only sell with Turbo for $1600 USD. I managed to get Actuator from USA for $100. Something stinks of profiteering? Not a good advert for Jaguar - Land Rover?

some great information here...the car is available in diesel or petrol...and it even has an automatic or manual gearbox option...great to know...thanks
In Bahrain Range Rovers lose 80% of their value in 2 years. Toyota Landcruisers hold their price for decades. Audi is just garbage they don't sell and those that do have zero retail value, A decade ago Mercedes and BMW lost their place to Lexus and Chevy. It is interesting how each market is so different.
2013 evoque, 50k miles. Turbo needs to be replaced, gate stopped working, wheel bearings are going, battery died, under powered in general. This thing is garbage.
I've had mine for over two years. Not one single problem. As with my previous Land Rover Freelanders. Don't be taken in by the ignorant armchair critics.
Maybe you have managed to buy one at one point in your life and you think maybe as your long lost son...I would remember? I know my father good luck on your journey finding your estranged son
