Ahh thank you 🥰 the way my brain works the techniques are just more intuitive with Pastelmat. I like light pressure and with hot press you do have to burnish and use harder pressure which I just don’t get on with 🥰
I just started using Pastelmat for the first time using Polychromos. I love how easily the color comes off the pencil onto the paper, but after half a drawing I've already noticed what you said about how easily the color comes off the paper. I had put my hand on a piece of parchment paper and the color on the Pastelmat stuck to the parchment paper! Is there a workaround for this?
If your pigment is coming off on the paper, just check that there is no tooth. I use a smooth glassine paper - I don't get any pigment sticking to it :)
Do you work on pastel mat with Polygromos in this video? The way you put down layers can also be done with, for example, Faber Castell Pitt or Stabilo Corthello?
I was given permission from Fiona Crawford to use the image in this tutorial and you can get access to the tutorial in my Ignite Membership 🥰 I look at the reference image on my iPad that I have on a gooseneck holder attached to my drawing board

Yes - I only used coloured pencils no pastels. Pastelmat was made for pastels so your choice of pastel pencils will work well :)
thank you Bonny. have a nice day
Bonny would you use this same technique for a sable and white collie?
Yes but you’d need to be careful where the dark fur and light fur meet 🥰
Do pencils smudge on that surface
Bonny, qual papel você usa?
Acho que Clairfontain Pastelmat
שלום אני מישראל. מעניין אותי לדעת מה החברה שאת עובדת איתה מבחינת העפרונות תודה רבה
I use mainly Faber Castell Polychromos, and Caran D'Ache Luminance and Pablos 🥰
I would love to see the original photograph that you're working from and how you position it while you draw. 👃👃👃

Is that a black charcoal pencil? Or is it simply a black color pencil?
It's a black coloured pencil :)
@@BonnySnowdonAcademy That’s wonderful. It’s the deepest black i have ever seen. Can this be purchased in the states?
what paper do you use, I don’t speak English very well, sorry
For this one it’s pastelmat 🥰
@@BonnySnowdonAcademy thanks
My art stores here don't carry them. So I honestly don't know anything about them. What are they, and how do they improve your art?
Are you asking about the Derwent drawing or the pablos?
