    Melissa Caen's "the system worked" comment is unbelievable. We had a maniac in the Whitehouse who spent all his time abusing his power for his personal enrichment. We still have no idea how much damage was done.

      If the personal restraint of a few individuals hadn't kicked in,we'd be in a post-coup America right now. We need extensive legislative protections. I'd like a vetting process at the party level. I'd expect at a minimum our candidates could pass a 7th grade Civics test. The orange one had no business being anywhere the levers of power. We'll be learning for years ahead how much literal and potential damage was inflicted on our Republic.

    Francis Fukuyama, brilliant analysis! The deepest gratitude from Russian, who was born, grew, educated, witnessed in person, as well as through my family's life's few generations, a Russian cruel totalitarian regime, propaganda, and endless lies on an everyday basis, and every level of life from my very childhood. No country is secure from totalitarianism. Thanks, all of you! Please, keep building and protecting your young democracy!

    Please don't forget that Lindsey Graham's announcement, immediately following his 1st visit to Mar -a- Lago after Jan 6 2021, that Trump was "the future of the Republican Party" (in spite of Lindsey's Jan 6th condemnation of "Stop the Steal") had tragic effects on the priorities of many republican politicians. & the RNC. As you may recall, Trump threatened to form a 3rd political party which would dilute the Republican Party's votes (which also demonstrates Trump's lack of loyalty to the RNC). What they fail to consider is not only the effects of Trump's further undermining of our country's democracy (possibly irreversibly), but also how giving Trump more power would likely make their own political future LESS secure (as evidenced by Trump's pattern of not returning the loyalty which he requires that he receives).

  • @strezztechnoid

    Ms. Caen is either naive or ignorant of what has been going on legislatively and politically within the United States. For example, war powers have been devolved within the executive wherein a Secretary or Deputy Secretary, within the CI, can execute acts of war without the involvement of the President. There are only two exceptions in the constitution that give authority for action, and to expand that authority to others is completely dangerous. In my mind, this puts the levels of state power (the most dangerous of all) into the hands of people that do not have the Title President. And don't even speak to the Intelligence community issues, this has become a machine unto itself. And congress, useless; neither party wants to commit to votes for any substantive legislation. When legislatures see legislating as a liability, what do you think happens.

  • @strezztechnoid
    @strezztechnoid 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Consider that the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution does allow congress to set standards in races, and historically from the inception is the federal control of congressional races. As the U.S. Civil War informed the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendment it is instructive to look at what and why these amendments became necessary, and remain necessary.

    Misters Fukuyama and Miller are a part of a markedly huge number of former staunch Republicans to whom I give my undivided attention. They cannot be accused of being part of the 'liberal-biased mainstream media'. I have never seen this happen for any president of either party,and the weight of their opinion is hefty. Any Trump supporters who disregard them are wilfully ignorant.

    The crowd was not attacking the capital the crowd was politically worried about how the House of Representatives is not telling the American people the truth about elections and about policy. The narrator of this Event I'm listening to is from Wisconsin I'm also born and raised Wisconsin and he I think should have more sense than to think that anybody was attacking our country when they went to demonstrate their political is political love of the United States of America. It's a. A few people because of the Internet joined up with these patriots and did jump into the building and break some windows but it's not the people who love and support Donald J trump let me tell you so you guys are off the rail. You're just absolutely wrong in your attitude toward the people that went to Washington DCA year ago to show their patriotic feelings about the election.
