Kudos to Stanislav Petrov for his good judgement and cool head, but even if he passed the warning up the chain of command, it is very unlikely that the entirely of USSR strategic nuclear force would go into autopilot mode. Nuclear policy is a serious business (which is probably the greatest understatement I ever said), it does not and cannot depend entirely on a decision of a single man.

Not even close to being extinction level events.

Lake Toba 69,000 to 77,000 years ago. had global consequences for human populations; it killed most humans living at that time and is believed to have created a population bottleneck in central east Africa and India, which affects the genetic make-up of the human worldwide population to the present.[

SO close!!! Not to worry, we’ll get it right soon! Irreversible climate change is getting CLOSE!!!❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Not necessarily. There's still time for global thermonuclear war, which will change the climate, cooling it GREATLY, over the next several years of "nuclear winter". Alas though, it won't cause nearly the problems that the radioactivity will.
