Awesome intro guys, well done hahaha. Thank you so much for the video!
We started buying unflavored protein powder so that we can control the sweetener, level if sweetness, and add flavors other ways. It also allows us to use it in savory. Any chance you'd be willing to do a video on plain unflavored protein powders?
Wow, I stumbled across this video while looking for reviews of a certain brand. I'm so glad I did! I laughed out loud while you were taste testing. And another WOW for the work to put the bundle together. Putting your channel on my radar!

I’m just about to finish my 90 day raw vegan challenge and want to come out of it hitting the gym and building more muscle! Thanks for releasing this video!!
Thank you thank you thank you I've only got 1 kidney and I have about 40% function in it. Because I don't want to lose any function I am moving to plant based, the research just screams plant protein over animal for kidney function. I really love that your protein bundle includes info on protein and kidney health. Bless you for that.
@@TheVeganGym It's pretty slow going at this point but I will share my victory at this point. In Oct 2022 I was having 3 - 4 seizures a day 5 - 6 days a week because of full on brain and body overwhelm after being told I had cancer then having the kidney removed. If I had to walk more than across the house I needed a wheelchair. I'm currently walking 2 miles a day with a walker broken up based on what I can do in the moment. I haven't had a seizure since November and really starting to feel like I got this. I'm a long way off hiking all day like I used to but I'm climbing back up from the biggest low in my life. Y'all are a huge help! Bless you 🥳🥳🥳😘
I mean... if your worried about kidney function the protein powder you consume shouldn't be the first thing yiu run to. A couple things you should ask yourself is, "am I obese"? "Do I drink atleast 2 liters of water a day"? And "is my diet optimal for my best function as a human"? Beef, eggs fruit and vegetables. Worry about the basics first, (the things that caused you to loose the first kidney) and then worry about things like supplements because truth be told you can meat all your protein requirements with meat and eggs ❤
@@Christiansstillstruggle Animal proteins are harder on kidney function than plant protein it's very well known in the kidney disease community and one of the first things that the nutritionist specializing in kidney function will tell you. Moving to a more plant based diet has increased my kidney function from stage 3b to stage 3a basically from 33% to 45% function. My kidney was removed because I had a tumor large enough to rupture. It was outside my kidney and wrapped around and growing into the renal artery. What that means is it was a ticking time bomb that would have led to sudden death when it eventually took out the wall of that artery and I bleed to death before anyone knew what was wrong with me. It was a benign tumor and no one knows why it developed, but had nothing to do with weight at all. My nephrologist suggested protein shakes to make sure I was getting enough protein to heal properly after surgery so I think I will listen to him and what is clearly working. Don't worry it means there are more animal products for you left at the store. Enjoy them.
Hi! I downloaded the selector tool, but my main thing is that I want to look at textureand I see that the taste category isn’t broken down but to be honest, I don’t really care about the flavor since I usually like to mix in no flavor with a bunch of fruits. Which one is the best for texture overall 😅
Unlike most non-vegan protein powders that are just a thousand flavors of whey, do you think some specific plant proteins taste better than others? Or do you get the feeling that they're all pretty much the same. At least for me the nicest I've tried is almond and my least favorite is soy.
Great informative video! I'm curious how you found the BCAA content for some of the protein powders? For example I can only find basic nutrition facts for Switch Nutrition, and I can't find information on their BCAA content and amino acids breakdown.
Thanks for watching! We had to contact customer service for many companies to get this information. You can download the Vegan Protein Powder Selector in the description to get all of the data if you’d like 🤓
This video is so good! So informative! 🙌🏾 And quite entertaining as well. I laughed when he said the protein tasted like it came from under a boat. Lol
Thanks for making this video. I’ve recently been using Vedge vanilla ice cream in smoothies and to make oatmeal and pancakes. It is a fine powder and blends easily. I’m looking to get a lot of protein in each day for muscle building, and this powder has made it easier. Tastes good too.
I think a big part of the nutrition component is the amount of sodium -- some of the winners scored highly in terms of clean ingredients but also have ridiculously high amounts of sodium e.g. Switch Plant Protein at 450mg per serving
I really appreciate all the effort you put into this project. My ask is that you also consider if the company is cruelty-free, as that actually is what is more important to me in choosing vegan products. Thank you again for all your hard work!
Well done, and thank you for the effort. Honestly, I am more interested in the heavy metal content rather than taste or texture cause, in the majority of cases, it will be individually different. I prefer unflavored Plant protein powders. Pea and Pumpkin are my best, but I have no issue with Hemp or rice, even though lots of people are struggling with hemp. I combine 20g pea, 10g rice, 10g Pumpkin, 5g Hemp with 5 g Glutamine, and 5g fermented. Plant-based BCCA. Again thank you for making this video.
Im trying to incorporate more plant based products into my diet and this for sure took some guesswork out of the protein supplement aspect. Gonna research the winners further for sure. Thank you guys!
hey, i wanted to ask, soy and pea protein have less bioavailability than whey protein, does that mean that my body will absorb lesser protein and isn't that a minus point on plant protein?
Great question! Plant-based protein sources such as corn, oats, beans, and potatoes do tend to exhibit lower digestibility than animal-based sources do. However, purified plant protein sources such as soy protein isolate, pea protein concentrate, and wheat gluten (seitan) display a digestibility that is similar to that of animal-based protein sources. Additionally, a study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition found that pea protein and whey protein have the same effect on developing muscle mass and strength. Here is the link to the study: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4307635/
Monk Fruit usually contains a mix of erythritol, unless otherwise stated on the label. Make sure to check into it when picking your protein - since this video didn't dock any points for Monk Fruit sweetener. Erythritol is "possibly carcinogenic to humans".
I've used Plant Fusion vanilla ever since your old vegan protein powder review. Still love it - but I am now excited to try some of the new top 5 powders! Thanks for the in-depth work! 💚
Great question! Pea protein does have one of the best digestibility levels of plant proteins so it is one of the best plant-based protein options. Rice protein has much lower digestibility.
I would be so curious about Nutiva. I have been using that in Vanilla and really like the flavor but didn't see it tested. I tried Orgain chocolate and hated it but you seemed to like it when you tasted it. I had no clue there are over 70 different brands of plant based protein powders.

It's not affordable for a consumer to ship an individual product from AU, but if they can get US distribution for example, they could make a lot of money. I have never had a plant based protein powder that I really liked. Would love to try some Switch.
