The Juke is a joke for the younger market. I see enough FRS, BRZs, Miatas, and Hyundai Genesis Coupes driven by young folks to know there's a damn market out there. A Silvia would put all of those out of business (except the Miata of course).

As previously stated, look at the sales numbers, but you also just demonstrated exactly why it probably doesn't make sense: the market is already over-saturated with similar vehicles.
Hell, you can probably add the 370Z and the American pony cars (particularly the base versions of the latter) to that list. They aren't as light, but you still see people drifting them and there is significant overlap in the kind of people who buy these cars and those who buy existing light FRs.

There's no good competition for the gt86 / brz, a new 240 would be a great contender against it but Nissan butchered their chances with their terrible overly styled concept...like no wonder it wasn't cost effective.

Not even my mom wants a Juke. She's a safety fanatic. Me? I'm a crazy teenager who wants a fun, dirt cheap car. When I first heard some random facts about the 240 I thought "YES! IT'S PERFECT!" After some more research, I thought "Ok, it's kinda a bit price because of the Drift Tax. Still affordable!" Now I think "Maybe next time, junior."

Great video! I am the second owner of a stone stock '91 hatchback with "only" 240,000 miles and I still love it!!! I have owned it for 21 years now and will keep it as long as I can get in and out of it (I'm 63 years old and the knees complain a little about the low seat height)! It is still a joy to have young guys in fancy newer cars give a big thumbs up and want to "talk 240" for a while!!!

the new generation isn't even interested in cars anymore, they just need something compact, practical, and affordable and guess what the Juke fits that bill :(
blame the engineers and marketers too, the engineers prolly thought it's nice for customers to have a bit of a higher ride height and little bit of extra ground clearance to drive over bad roads and curbs, then the marketers prolly thought this is an excellent idea, it's going to be a big hit and we can sell X amount of cars, the dealers try to match that X amount and sell the Jukes to the naive current generation who think "oh yeah that is a great car"

Damn I miss my 89 240. I still have it it's just sitting several states away in my parents garage. But thanks for letting me know it's not worth $1,500. I thought that seemed awfully low for something and so much demand. When it wasn't sitting in the garage my mom would call me at least three times a year with people leaving notes on it asking if I wanted to sell. Hell no! That's my first car!

That’s wild I have a ‘89 S13 hatch that’s been sitting on the side of my parents house in California for the last 5 years since im stationed on the east coast it hasn’t moved. Original single cam KA automatic in that ugly red color. Rhd conversion, SR20 red top, 5 speed, repainted plum crazy purple from a 70’ Barracuda. Every christmas when I see it I almost cry. 4 dry rotted flats, seized Z32 calipers, spider webs, rat shit and this last christmas I came back the SR wouldn’t turn over. Still a west coast car with no rust. They receive so many offers for it, they stopped responding to the post-its left under the wiper blades. Gonna get a full restoration one day when I stay there for long enough, until then its a shell of its former self. Great first car when they were cheap asf in 2013 tho.

I've had my 200sx RS13U (european spec, which comes with the CA18DET) for 14 years. I bought it from an 82 year old man, Mr Price, who stayed in my home town, Cape Town South Africa. He imported it brand new in 1992 from Belgium to South Africa. I bought it from him (I was the second owner from brand new) for R18 000 ($1158) in 2008, it had 78 000km (48 000 miles) Full service history, everything was OEM, including the rims, radio, sunroof bag, full tool kit and jack and some other OEM goodies from Nissan in Belgium.
After 14 years of ownership, she still puts a smile on my face, hearing the turbo and exhaust sound. Looking at her all polished and clean always makes me think what a beautiful car that Japanese made.
My 200sx still is OEM, with a full service history, original radiator, original shocks, original springs (never cut), still stock height, original rims, original midnight blue paint, the only upgrade i ever did to my car, was a stainless steel exhaust and T28/T25 turbo, original exhaust manifold, original injectors. She is making a reliable 158kws and 285nm. The current milage is a very healthy 184 000kms (114 332 miles) still full service history, i change the oil and oil filter every 5000kms (3100 miles).

I'd love to own a Nissan 240sx, since it's a pretty good beater car, but the drift tax might discourage me from doing so. I might spring for a Volvo 240. Hey, not much of a looker at first, but it can make a good drift car with some tuning, and a daily driver when you need it most.

Everytime I see a video on S13s or Silvias or 240SXs or basically the S-chassis I amazed no one mentions the 3 back to back to back IMSA GTU Championships the S13 has won back inthe early 90s.

I dont know is it true but I heared than 180sx means its 1.8 ca18det, 200sx means 2.0 sr20det and 240sx means some kind of 2.4 l engine

Gedas alekveravičius Honda has a KA engine but all 240sx came with a 2.4L KA24de or KA24E. 180sx came with either a 1.8L CA18DET, 2.0L SR20DE, or a 2.0L SR20DET.
No it's not as simple as that and most people get very confused.
The 180sx was originally a 1.8 turbo in 1987, then they changed to the 2.0 turbo in 1991, but the name stayed as 180sx. Later models around 1994-1998 came with the SR20DE non turbo option.
The European s13 200sx only came with the 1.8 turbo.

In Australia it was always called the Silvia, and also had the separate model of the 180sx, we shared the same market as Japan.

In Ireland we have the hatchback but I've never seen the booter version
The s13 is the best because it has pop up headlights. I don't give a shit if the others are lighter or have more power, hell, I don't give enough shit to check the differences besides the chassis, because they don't have pop up headlights. The only exceptions to this is the Nissan Skyline GTR's.
