I have long been thinking of own products, but I am just not very interested in growing big followings anywhere :/ any tips for people like me, do you think it could work anyway? Or a following is a must?
Another question, how do you keep track of your finances and how do you plan these things? excel sheets or is there a cuter way? do you decide how much you save (also do you save for certain things separately or you have like a flat % you wanna save) or you go with the flow? I'm so bad at planning my finances (I also never in my life had savings and its very hard for me to find out how I could do it. Any tips would mean a lot, how to start from nothing! And I think I'm not alone who is just shit with finances and managing money and planning these things. )

While I do admit that some (or maybe a lot) of the time, it's jealousy from people, it's also important to understand that sometimes it's from people that didn't even know this lifestyle was an option.
When you have your elders telling you your whole life is about school, job, marriage, and death, that's how you view life.
    It's the safe path.
But what people have to understand today is that there is no safe path anymore and because of that you should bet on yourself.
If you're going to go out in flames then do so on your terms. Not someone else's.
With how many opportunities that there are out there, it's insane to think that people continue to bust their ass for DECADES making someone else's dream come true.
Some people don't want to believe this life is possible because they fear that if they tried they would fail. But there is no failure in pursuing this lifestyle.
    Only learning.
You keep on learning until you get it right.
Big ups to you, Sorelle. Keep doing the damn thing, girl.

I absolutely love how you give advice that are so "d-uh", because so many people get in their heads as they go through their lives, and let that little voice in their heads tell them all the excuses of why they are unable to make it. If only they'd learn to not listen to that little voice and move on with the advice from authors of motivational books and motivational videos like yours and many others TH-camrs, they wouldn't be stuck in the ditch, so to speak.

I am a viewer for many years now and I love your content, however ... I do get why some people would want to live a life like yours and often dream about being in your shoes, but not everybody is made for the way. Especially when you're struggling a lot with anxieties or depression, it's amazingly fascinating to live a life like yours and I am also dreaming about living a creative life, somewhere out in nature, just creating - but on the other hand, I am so scared about failing, so scared about not being able to pay bills...and it IS a problem. And as much as I would want to be as productive and amazing as you are - it's just so hard (mentally) to not just dream about it, but actually DOING it... so I get both sides and I don't think that ANYONE can do, what you did. But not agreeing with you on that, doesn't mean that you aren't SUCH an inspiration for me and I love your videos and I am a fan for years now and I respect and adore you. JUST WANTED TO MAKE THAT CLEAR!

As an autistic person who has struggled a LOT with things like sales and marketing, and confidence, I put off going for my goals thinking they were impossible for a long time. And I had a best friend who was also very 'well, I can't because *insert myriad excuses here*', and that made it even easier for me to give in to my feelings that I couldn't.
Eventually, my desire to become a director, to find my true home, became stronger than my excuses, and I just couldn't push it away anymore. It caused so many problems, because the excuses were still there, still stopping me from going all in, and my 'friend' was there, getting increasingly unsupportive of my efforts. I eventually had to cut her out of my life entirely, and while I'm still far from where I want to be, I'm closer than I've ever been! And I'm not going to stop! I've found a community of people who support me, I've gotten paid to work on film sets enough that it's my primary source of income, I've written and directed multiple short films, and I'm working on writing my first feature that I will find a way to fund and direct!
And I was fighting autism, depression, self-esteem issues, living in weird, out of the way places with no industry, and being SUPER broke.
Yeah, I'm not where I want to be yet, but I *am* on the path to getting there. Like you said, there is no plan B. There is no 'if this doesn't work out, I'll go be an accountant.' This is it, so I'm all in.

I never know if I should feel inspired or depressed when I watch these kinds of things. Guess that says a lot about me. I feel like I'll never be good enough to make it to this level of freedom and contentment. I know it's not technically impossible since people have done it, are doing it, and will continue to do it...but you obviously do need to be absurdly talented, EXTREMELY hardworking, and significantly lucky on top of it. But nonetheless, I will continue living with the pipedream of "making it" as I continue learning photography...and being 2months into it, it feels like an infinite mountain to climb but I suppose walking the path is all you can really do.

And people reviewing things and unboxing things. That requires no talent at all. Just an opinion. Don't focus on the mountain top, enjoy the learning process xx

I've been trying to think of ways to become self-sufficient so that I can work low-paid environmental jobs abroad. I watched one of your videos a while back and you mentioned online courses. That was my eureka moment! But my areas of knowledge are environmental, low impact living and environmental education. I realised they're either too niche or no one would pay for them because there is a wealth of free information online :/ back to the drawing board for me.

All good and well, but: 1) The pool is oversaturated with "e books" and "courses" and most of those things people will prefer to find them for free on the internet, like moneymaking for example. 2)And you do need a crowd who are willing to pay for every little thing you are selling.
The moment you have a good amount of fans or whatever you want to call it, you can sell pretty much anything, I guess. And I believe that you didn't start like that, like one day you decided to sell your courses and it all flourished from there.
I think people are more interested to know how did you get started? I'm not dissing on you and your success, but I think to be perhaps more humble and realistic wouldn't hurt.
    All the best

These are just excuses you found though @lolychan1. Do you think the SUPREME clothing brand thought: "oh wait, but there are others that sell T-shirts out there, not sure if this is the right thing to do". The thing is there will always be people that thought of your idea, it's just that Sorelle decided to say F it all, I'm free (or want to be) and I'm going all in and guess what, it wasn't easy, obviously, if it was we'd all do it just like that. I'm trying to be a youtuber too, I've been at around 100 subs for a few months now, but so what? One day I'll be at around 200 hopefully and so on, BUT without the work, it will never happen. Keep learning, keep doing @lolychan1, your time will come. Just by watching this video we all have a better idea of what we could be possibly doing in a year's time. Good luck out there!

You clearly haven’t seen all her videos. She tells her story in various videos on her channel. She’s been working at this thing for years. If you think she’s arrogant, I’d hate to know your idea of humility. The simple fact that she’s not self-deprecating or bashing her on work doesn’t make her arrogant. She’s earned EVERYTHING she has.

Oleta Lee I‘ve had the same thoughts. But tbh: just start! Your nichr can change and develop - just do what you‘re naturally good at - if you reflect on your life, what comes up a few times? What have other people told you that you can share with the world? TH-cam is all about sharing one‘s individual traits - your niche will find you then. And so will you find them. So just trust yourself on this - it‘s a process. Sorelle didn‘t start TH-cam with her advanced selfie academ or these videos either.

While I absolutely think Sorelle worked hard and smart, I still want to point out that she didn't acknowledge the luck and privilege that played a role in her success. She was in a position where she could afford to invest a lot of time and energy into social media and taking selfies before these brought in any money. And to take those selfies in exotic locations and exquisite interiors. She was lucky in that Buzzfeed picked up her photos and gave her free publicity. Also she has a figure that is conventionally very beautiful. Behind every success there is an important element of luck, or you can call it chance. And it takes a bit of humility to acknowledge this fact. There are so many amazing people out there absolutely deserve to make it big but didn't, not because they are not talented or not hardworking or smart, but due to chance circumstances.

Well yes to working hard and smart however your off on the rest of the story and her rise to where she has evolved to today. She was basically a struggling vlogger financially, but good real human content... she then entered a contest for a job touring/vlogging for a luxury vacation rental brand, competing against a globe full of other lifestyle/vloggers (yes based on own editing and concepts) and guess what... she won the job... this is what laid the first steps onto her path of succeeding where she learned from her beginningings and struggles, leveraged the "job" experience and notice and built from there. So she saw a opportunity and went after it vs. lucked into it.
