Leave it to Tissot to make two dive watches in different categories and have them both offer insane value. I bought the SS2000 after realising that the watch that most closely matched its specs is the Planet Ocean 600M, a watch that lists for 6½ times the price of the SS2000.
That's really one of the greatest entry level divers out there! And even better, it's one of the most unique ones, especially in the black PVD version you presented here. Great review as always! But I really wish you would show some wrist rolls with different wrist sizes and not only those with the best fit. I would have loved to see the watch on your 16cm wrist!
Yeah, and silicum also added better visibility on the bezel markers, which I understood that in silicum model, bezel markers are engraved, whereas on the "normal" 1000 seastar there are just printed - which makes lots of reflections. So silicum fixed this issue. That bring me to the next question, on this PVD model I suppose that bezel markers are just like the standard 1000 seastar right, means printed?
Love these Teddy website sale reviews, they make me want every watch you review. Also, Congrats on the Longines authorization! Keep acquiring those brands, maybe Seiko someday?! I hope so!
A great watch, but glad I opted for a Visodate from Tissot as my dress watch and purchased a Seiko PADI Turtle for my dive option instead of the Seastar😊👍
Tissot fixed the loose play on the bezel mine has no play on it it’s very well done,I have the stainless steel case and bracelet it’s a wonderfully made watch
Teddy, you make some of the best watch and fragrance content out there. This is an amazing looking watch. What do you think of the Tissot Supersport Chrono?
I have a number of Tissot’s across their range. I actually like this stealth model. I reckon it’d look pretty awesome to swap that black strap out for a purple one!😈👍🏻
Great review Teddy, this looks great in PVD black on the rubber strap. I have the stainless version on the bracelet that I purchased years ago although it's not currently on regular rotation I still wear it on occasion. When I'm back in the office it'll be on the wrist again. Prior to the 1st COVID lockdown this is was my daily watch for work. An all round decent Swiss diver that can really be used for diving should you want to.
@@silverstaralchemist I'm wearing that right now! Absolutely LOVE the Gentleman Powermatic 80. I have my five year work anniversary this March and planned to reward myself with the Seiko Alpinist (green variant), but now I don't know :(

I have the tissot courtier I was about to buy the seiko sks (I needed a dive watch in my collection) but then I saw this tissot seastar now I've changed my mind I'll but this instead of the seiko
Great review and option. I am not sure why there is not much love for Christopher Ward but they make an awesome spec dive watch in the C60 Trident Pro. 38 or 40mm
I think it's because the change design language so much that they never get the sort of iconic acclaim of other brands. They make good stuff and their designs are nice looking imo.
Also, besides Oris, Glycine has black PVD divers on goid bracelets with smoother highbeat Swiss movements available new for less than this lowbeat Tissot. I have one and along with the Oris, I prefer them, especially at $3-400 USD.
I’ve been debating between the Tudor BB Ceramic & Longines HC black ceramic for my next watch. Just seen this Tissot I feel like getting this & saving the rest of my money for something else lol only problem is I feel like I won’t be satisfied if it’s not a Longines or Tudor
Awesome looking but not a fan of the jerky lowbeat movement. I chose a Black coated Oris diver, same 43mm size with a regular Swiss highbeat movement at about the same price.
I got one but with the bezel insert replaced with the latest design that with engraved marker. Totally change the appearance to another different level :) Robust and reliable watch anyway!

Hello Teddy, do you have a video that lists all Time Only Watches that are 38mm or smaller? It’s looking like the best traveler’s watch is one that’s time only. With the additional information obtained from your smartphone (time back home, date, etc).
Question on the Powermatic 80 movement: when I see pictures of the movement online the rotor alway has engravings that look like sun rays with Tissot 1853. Mine just says Tissot 1853. No sun rays. I have this black pvd Seastar 1000 but newer. Why does it look different than online?
Much better than Seiko. Seiko makes stunning cases and dials but they put the cheap 4R or 6R movement that are not nearly accurate. These entry level Swiss offerings have sapphire crystal, sprung balance and way more accurate with 80 hours power reserve. For Seiko to deliver that it will be over $2000 in the marine master line with the 8l movement.
Rather have a 4hz watch, dont care about the 80 hours. That's why i'm looking for the Marathon Gsar 36mm. Do Tissot have a 4hz watches? nice vidéo as always Teddy, thanks.
Oris has a black coated 43mm diver with a highbeat Swiss movement at about the same price with a slick, adjustable clasp on the rubber strap. Highly recommend it.
Dlc stands for diamond like coating, much more premium and prone to scratches than pvd.... sign of premium..... just like sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel are for premium watches.... dlc is for ultra premium watches

Wish there was a smaller 40mm version or mid-size.
I agree. 40mm or at least 41mm would be much easier to wear for most people.
Every time I’ve seen the Seastar on this channel I’ve never liked them, except today. For some reason this version clicks for me.
