Without it, they wither like a hollow from Dark Souls, only without any humanity available to restore it. It’s a sad existence. The Orcs, meanwhile, weren’t and could recover, especially thanks to the diluted nature of the red pox disease. Their bodies simply expelled the cursed blood. The Draenei and Arakkoa were not so lucky. Arakkoa, upon contact with the blood of Sethe, almost instantly transform and break. The Draenei don’t have a much better chance. But their transformation, I believe, is much slower, again likely due to the diluted nature of the blood they inhaled.

I guess Guldan's trick was that he promised that drinking the Blood of Mannoroth would make you immune to the Red Pox disease which might be true, as demon's don't really seem to get sick of any diseases.
Best head canon I can think of is that the Gul'dan infected the Orcs with red pox to try and cut them off from the elements, the same way that the Arrokoa were cut of from Rukhmar, and the Draenai from the light. That way the Horde would be more willing to embrace the fel.

No. Shattrath City and Karabor were both raided. Karabor (present day Black Temple) was far more important to the Draenei culture and religionwise but the biggest concentration of their people lived in Shattrath City. Shattrath fell first and it was during that battle for the city the Draenei first learned the Orcs had devised a way to sever their connection to the Light. You have to keep in mind to that point, those who sided with Sargeras were the only kin they knew who were no longer connected to the Light. You also need to remember for a while, they treated the Broken like outcasts and...yeah.
Finnaly somebody talking about this... Many people who doesn't know about old lore of Wow says I was crazy and the red pox doesn't exist... Even I remember in old tbc servers (not the relaunched version) there was a chain quest in nagrand explaining the brown color of maghar orcs its an aftermath of the red pox (remember in the old lore orcs are green from birth)

According to the War of the Ancients trilogy books, the undead plague is used by the Nathrezim during the Burning Legion invasion. Given Nerzul's interaction with Kil'jeaden, I presume that's how he found out about the plague and how he got his undead powers too.
Lore fix, they turned red from the blood of mannoroth. why they are green is the influence of warlock magic practicion that spread to every orc from birth.
One small correction, not all orcs who turned green drank the blood. There are many who refused but still turned green from the fels influence. I'm pretty sure the reason why the Mag'har orcs didn't turn green is because they were far enough away from the other orcs to not be corrupted, not because they didn't drink the blood.
Garad was a Chad in both universes. In the prime timeline quarantined the sick orcs and probably saved the entire race. In WoD timeline, he dies as a supreme orcish Chad defending his chieftain and Clan.

I remember why gul dan released the red pox on the orc’s. During that time there was some religious conflict with the dranie entering the forbidden grounds of the orcs which is that large stone on the middle of Nagran, and they discovered a Naruu in that stone and when leaving the orcs caught them and forbid them from entering their sacred grounds. This happened the same day they were celebrating the Kosh’harg festival with all the clans and of corse gul’dan saw this opportunity the release the red pox on the orcs and “BLAMED IT ON THE DRANIE!” yeah that’s how big of d$&k gul’dan was. And so the orcs believed this and after drinking the demons blood they happily raided on of the dranie cities believing their claiming vengeance for what they did to their people... Yeah before I remembered this I was mixing the original lore with alternate universe of Draneo where after the red pox incident Garrosh was lied to about the alliance preparing an invasion to slave the orc which in theory I believe garrosh had no choice but drink the demon blood to get stronger since their shorter in numbers and that completes the circle of gul’dans control over the orcs. But that’s was when I remember what happened before alternate universe and before we had the Warcraft chronicles. 😁
