What a wonderful message delivered with true humility, grace and purpose - easy to see that R C Sproul studied under Dr Gerstner

I watched this, but I'm still not clear what it means to have faith in Christ...what must we trust about Him?

Faith simply means that you believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God who exchanges your sin with His Righteousness through which you are saved - and be assured of this - if you are seeking after God and Christ, He has already found and called you

@@BobR-x5o and where do you get this idea that that is what faith means? Basically a true/false test of some concept versus acting on it as in all the examples of the word faith? (With the word sometimes translated into faithfulness ... Or at least other words based on the same root). And where is that particular definition even spelled out given how important it is?

@@Amilton5Solas what is faith, then? Is it some mental assent to something?

and why is the full expression "faith in christ"? If it's just mental assent, does that match the meaning of having faith in someone? Sounds a lot more like *faithfulness* to me, which is not about mental assent but includes/assumes acting on it (e.g. Abraham having faith = believing + moving)
