Jay r is the king of RNB in ph, and daryl and jason followed his path. Erik was never known about riffs, he is the prince of Pop ballad in Ph and he is known for his powerhouse ballad tagalog performances. You're like expecting Regine to do riffs like what Beyoncé does.

Imo Erik is the best Male singer in the Philippines.
JAY-R remains the Philippines’ King of R&B. Jason Dy and Daryl Ong follows. Erik on the other hand is a balladeer.

Also, It’s not a girl song. It’s Erik’s song lol. This is a hit in the Philippines, which I can guess why they had a collaboration. Erik actually carried out the melody if I’m not mistaken. The other three just added harmonies.

It is actually Erik Santos who is a stand out among the 4. JayR, Jason and Daryl sing. Erik performs. I, for one, am in awe of those 3's technical vocal ability. But Erik gives me goosebumps. He's the type of artist who really stirs your heart and makes you feel something while listening. That's why he's always being asked to sing movie and tv soap's soundtracks.
The reason why Erik Santos does not stand out for you Ovela is because he is different from the 3. Erik is a balladeer and the rest are R&B singers.
Then his reaction goes well because he didnt limit his reaction based on their genre.
You can see that Eric is very humble, he is not taking the spots from the other guys.
Erik needs redemption. Hehe. He is a balladeer so he did not really stand out from the 3 who are RnB singers. However, Erik Santos sells more albums and songs than the 3!
If not for Erik's who popularized this song, they won't be harmonizing and he won't be reacting.

Ovela should do a research about each artist before making a reaction. The 3 are known for singing rnb and Eric is in ballad. If I were to react, I will appreciate more Eric because of his willingness and he was able to sing with these boys in that way. He is great in ballad and he did great here.
Ron Ivan well he is reacting through that video . Of course Eric is a king of ballad because he is the first artist who was discovered before compared to some of the boys. For this performance Daryl Ong is really stand out .
Erik Santos is a balladeer and also into some musical. The three are RnB singers. Technically, this is not Erik's genre but he is so good with this and for us who knows his caliber thinks what he did is to show versatility. Also, being in the scene for 15 years by winning Star in A Million, the Philippine's Prince of Pop and Philippine's King of Themesongs (most number of songs used in soundtrack in movies, shortfilms, tvdramas, etc.), he let this new breed of singers shine in their own genre. While I agree with ur vocal reaction n appreciation, I think that ur bias on certain singer specially Eric Santos.. obviously u stated u know him the least... listening to them 4, I think Eric Santos Held his own and I disagree with u and u should give him more credit..while his forte is not on RNB n rifts like the 3 singers which were superb, he is like the melody among the 4 so that the others cud do their harmony part/ style and shine which they did...like in choir u need a melody / harmony or (soprano -melody, alto tenor and bass- 3 harmony)... also on ur Comment “they deserve a clap” .. they deserve more than that because they were Awesome/ Superb!!! In defense to Erik Santos, he's genre is pop/ballad and noted for his vibratos and sustained high notes, the other 3 guys are RnB singers whose known to execute riffs and runs flawlessly. It's like comparing an apple to an orange. Hehe. And I think, the way that he sang this song in this rendition, is how he did it when he revived it previously. Actually you can easily note in this video that he does not do riffs and runs

Unfortunately, what STANDS OUT for your taste are those runs, and daryl, jason and jr are all rnb singers, erik on the other hand is a balladeer.
Eric Santos’ strengths: beautiful tone of voice and great belting. The others are RnB singers so they seem ‘better’ with notes, but individually they’re all great.

He actually failed to be on the finals but luckily he became a wild card and basically win the competition. That was an OPM (Original Pilipino Music) popularized by a band Neocolours during the 90's,and yes most of the greatest and popular songs in the Philippines are ballads/love songs,simply because we Filipinos are emotional and sentimental people that majority are into heart felt musics.And you are right,Daryl makes this version affluent.Thanks!

Erik Santos is their Older Brother (same as Jay R) BUT among the four, Erik Santos is not an RNB Singer. He is a Ballad Singer. And that song is from Erik Santos. If you will react to his solo performance without the RNB, you will appreciate his forte which is ballad not an RNB. Erik Santos is one of the best singers here in PH.
