We place too much emphasis on exterior things and thereby judge others by those, rather than looking at a person's moral values. But to be honest, it's a lot easier to judge people by their possessions because those can be seen and measured. It's impossible to actually know someone's moral virtues. We can guess, but there's really no way to know what lurks beneath the surface.

I used to let my so called best friend in my home all the time. He was the best man in my wedding. Known him since the 3rd grade so he was like a brother to me. The best man turned out to be the worst man. He is now married to my ex wife and they both tried to take away my child. So yes be careful who you let inside your home.

@@JG638Sorry brother to hear what you had to endure, it’s the worst to be betrayed. There is no making sense of it. I was also betrayed by a friend who moved in on my girlfriend while I was working away. He ended up marrying her, they had 2 children then she played up on him.
One thing I have always understood, and it was not the only time a woman cheated on me. I would never waste one second of my life on a cheater. I never forgive, nor do I seek revenge or harm on them. There is one thing for certain, no matter how much it hurts it’s much better they are no longer your problem, let them go wreck havoc on someone else. Good luck to you, I hope you find peace.

I can't believe some people actually do such disgusting sexual acts. Obviously someone will fall in love with someone else when they become intimate with each other. The more time they spend with someone, the better chance of falling in love. That's the Same reason why you should never spend too much time with your friends while your partner is around, cos you could be setting your partner and friend up to falling in love.

There was this couple who were our friends for some time. They were zealous in their beliefs on different controversial topics, including atheism (not to say that atheism has to do with such things). They were definitely a type that would like to swim against the stream (not in terms of being open minded and questioning the stupid stereotypical social norms, but in terms of questioning every moral value with hostility). For example, I once said that I felt bad for the homeless who were freezing in the cold, and the guy got mad and said it’s their own fault.
Anyways, I once heard the wife bring up the fact that some people engage in wife swapping. That was a red flag for me. Because knowing their attitudes, I could see them and people who would be able to engage in such things. Plus, I had the feeling that the guy paid inappropriate attention to me, like putting my jacket on my shoulder when I was cold.
We cut ties with them. To this day, I don’t know if they are the swapping type, but I’m glad that tries are cut.
