Best holiday music album? I'll go first: gotttttta be A Charlie Brown Christmas, right? RIGHT? (PS thanks for the heads up about a few rendering errors!)
I met Jan Brett, author & illustrator of The Mitten (and many more equally delightful books). She signed a book for my mom, who had been a librarian before Alzheimers made her have to retire, and Jan Brett was one of her favorite authors. Mom died 6 years ago this past July. The holidays aren't the same without her. Thank you for mentioning The Mitten- i hadn't thought about that night in a long time.
I've never been more thankful for Kathleen. I've got a cold and I can't thrift (thanks for the water reminder), so I'm 100% living vicariously though this entire video. This video has a vibe I have decided to call "chaotic cozy," which sounds like a D&D alignment Kathleen would definitely have (and also me too probably.)
I'm a winter person, and it's so sad that so many people hate this season. I think winter is so unique with long darkness and how everything gets slower and quieter. It's given me a feeling of peace. Regardless, I love your videos and hope you have a good time during the holiday season❤
I am also a winter fan and even living in a zone where it snows heavy for many months of the year, most people around me dread winter. I’ve found so much joy from reading books about Nordic countries. They really embrace winter there and it’s such a cozy vibe
I love this take on decorating for Christmas, "doesn't have to look like Santa's workshop to feel festive" yay! Thanks for a refreshing reminder to be ourselves this winter season. I give this a 10/10!
This was a favorite pair of fuzzy socks levels of cozy! I watched it in my Hanukkah pajamas with my mug of tea on the couch, and it gave me inspiration for my own decorations.
The tree ornament at 9:00 is most likely handmade from capiz shell, probably from the Philippines. They are generally fragile, but the metal edging makes this one more durable. Beautiful find! (I used to work at a fair-trade shop where we sold very very similar items made from capiz shell)
I just love the vintage goodies! Love that the candles matched those napkins on the table. And your stairs are so great for small holiday things... Great display space!
last weeks video inspired me to make decorations for the house but we were gonna be just my mom and me this year so I thought that it wasn't necessary. but today I asked my friends if they would come over and now I'm hosting a new year's celebration for the first time in my life suuuper excited and definitely will try and do similar paper decorations I think yours looked so cute
Making decorations is such a chill holiday activity! I made paper chains last year which are so easy but look fun, and we ended up just keeping them up all year haha... They're not really Christmas colours, just bright and cheery
FYI for the white stained glass tree you have, the metal holding it together is likely lead so wash your hands after touching it! usually ok to keep but definitely wash your hands before eating anything!
10/10 thrift finds and cozy-eepy vibes this week! Also my inner maximalist really wants to see how Kathleen would decorate if she had more storage in her home🤣 (no doubt it would be a vintage holiday explosion the entirety of Ohio would talk about for eternity)
Love that I get to vicariously go ham at the thrift store through this series. It’s truly the best. All the gems, none of the crippling anxiety of do I buy or not buy. 😅
Super cozy! The little round knit house (crochet house?) made me remember the Christmas items my Nana would make with coffee cans and yarn. The easiest ones, which we also did in school, was wrapping cans that had both sides open with yarn from top to bottom all around, and you could put Christmas cards around the yarn and it'd make a decoration all on its own.
I think your answer to your space/ clutter problems is to get items that you can reuse all year by switching out a few accessories. Capsule wardrobes and now capsule house goods. Decor that can be used all year long and you add a few seasonal accessories for holidays. The red candelabra sn be used for x mas, Valentine’s Day, add black drippy candles and it’s Halloween! You can also store it when it’s not a holiday if you wanted.
I went with a white Christmas theme. it all started with an amazing white vase I thrifted months ago. Kept my eyes peeled for more white and scored again and again with vases, pots, flowers. Added thrifted brass, gold, silver and I’m in snow land. I love thrifting! Your tiny houses are too cool!
That purple and blue floral cardigan is the cardigan of my dreams, it is the vision that will dance in my head on Christmas Eve, the sugarplums do not stand a chance
I think theres a few rendering errors @ 9:22 & 12:18 Love your videos Kathleen, no hate here just wanted to let you know because i know you always take great care in your editing each video ❤ Thanks for making such fun videos
I wish I'd known about your channel when we were cleaning out my Grandma's house because I could've mailed you boxes and boxes of Department 56 Holiday Houses. She had over 40 of these things along with all the little ceramic people and tiny trees etc. etc. I kept two (because I only have so much space in my life) and donated the rest. Hopefully another thrifty goblin found them and is decorating with big smiles on their face right now.
I’m sorry for your loss! If it helps, there are so many vintage treasures I’ve been overjoyed to snap up and think fondly about the sweet previous owner who cherished them before me.
Thankyou for the cutest festive video! I’m so happy that you found those a lovely crocheted piece! Love a good cozy cottage vibe. This gets a 10/10 from me, would recommend. 💛🧡💚
If you’d be into it, I’d love a video on dressing for an office job, while still keeping true to my clown-y self. I’m starting a new job and I need help
a wild dancing changbin appears 😂 i never would have expected that lmao speaking of which stray kids' christmas evel is one of my favorite holiday albums lol
I would give you a 8 for coziness. You need some fun lap blanket on your couch. My favorite is the green crochet cookie jar. Definite keeper. Also, true story. I went into my local thrift and immediately spied from across the room, a gorgous tan aran cable knit wool cardigan sweater. As I got closer though I saw why someone gave it away. They had clusmily tried to cut the buttons off and cut the actual yarn and the placket was unraveling in the worst way and huge holes where the buttons used to be. It looked new, no piling or signs of wear and was a really good brand and a great oversized mens XXL. I brought it home and watched some Bookhou videos on darning and actually managed to repair it with tan worsted yarn I found plus sewed on 7 new vintage buttons. When you button it up you cannot tell it had a serious kerfuffle going on underneath (now made stable and less noticeable with the darning). My husband immediately claimed it as his own...as he should, since he look sgreat in it, but I will burrow as needed. I thanked the thrift gods abundantly. Happy holidays!
Second video in. I have just found you I find myself sitting in my chair smirking at the tele. You are the perfect amount coookie fun odd and Hularioussss Fanks
I DIYed my first xmas wreath today with branches that fell off of my xmas tree. I put your video while doing it! That was cool! Next time: velvet ribbon knots for my mantel.
I have an entire set of the rectangular luncheon plates (the ones you found specifically as well as two other sets). They were my great Aunts. My cousins and I discovered we’ve got some of each others pieces. We are going to have to rock paper scissor for them. 🌈🌈🦋🦋
You could always turn that Snoopy tie into the strap for a cross body bag… of the tiny itty bitty bit that I’ve seen of Gus, it seems like that might get more use out of a cool man-purse than an actual tie. Just a thought… I’m sure he will cherish it no matter what.
Excuse me this FESTIVE candelabra? How did you made that? I need a tutorial bc it’s GORGEOUSSSSS 😭💗 Love your videos, I’m going to do some festive decor like the ones u shower in your last video for a lunch with friends, didn’t want to spend a lot on decor and your ideas were brilliant! Thanks 🎄❤️
Best holiday music album? I'll go first: gotttttta be A Charlie Brown Christmas, right? RIGHT?
(PS thanks for the heads up about a few rendering errors!)
Snowed In by Hanson is an underrated masterpiece
oh come on, it's definitely the muppet christmas carol.
YES! BUT also, NSYNC Home for Christmas. ✨
Just listened to the Charlie Brown Album, very jazzy, nice. But what's all that talking about the takes and why all these repetitions? I'm confused.
That music is honestly the best thing ever!!
I met Jan Brett, author & illustrator of The Mitten (and many more equally delightful books). I was told I am not allowed to watch this until Christmas :O what could it be!!

I hope you feel better so soon!!! Here’s some tea & a lil blankie 💕💤⭐️ (chaotic cozy is SO on brand)
Chaotic cozy describes Kathleen’s video style very well 🎄
I would get a hoodie with that on it, not gonna lie.
@@tialrojoj ME TOO!
I'm a winter person, and it's so sad that so many people hate this season. I think winter is so unique with long darkness and how everything gets slower and quieter. It's given me a feeling of peace. Regardless, I love your videos and hope you have a good time during the holiday season❤
I know right
That's a nice way to look at winter. I am not a winter fan but getting there with comfy outerwear and snuggly sweaters!
I am also a winter fan and even living in a zone where it snows heavy for many months of the year, most people around me dread winter. I’ve found so much joy from reading books about Nordic countries. They really embrace winter there and it’s such a cozy vibe
Same here 🖤❤️
Tbf I think most of us WANT to love it but like we don’t have control over what it does to our brain chemistry lol
I love this take on decorating for Christmas, "doesn't have to look like Santa's workshop to feel festive" yay! Thanks for a refreshing reminder to be ourselves this winter season. I give this a 10/10!

I can't wait til I have my own space that I can fill with thrifted festive goodies!

I'm recovering from surgery, and I don't plan on decorating this year, so I'm living vicariously through you, and I have to say, SO TOOT AND COZY!!!!
10/10 thrift finds and cozy-eepy vibes this week! Also my inner maximalist really wants to see how Kathleen would decorate if she had more storage in her home🤣 (no doubt it would be a vintage holiday explosion the entirety of Ohio would talk about for eternity)

5:05 Shoutout to the Mitten!!! I love the author/illustrator Jan Brett’s work, and the Mitten is a delight!
The table cloth you thrifted could be used as a throw on a back of a chair or couch. ❤❤
Kathleen always posts at a time, where I can start my Monday morning in central Europe with her videos. Delightful!

That's it!
Almost positive that the small green fringy vintage hand towel is the same as the ones my mom has…❤
Definitely. My mum has one too.
I had that green hand towel as a kid in the 90s! It came in a set with a red and white one too, with different little embroidery on them. Love!
Every good gift comes with a threat 😋😋😋
😈 🎁

Your tiny houses are too cool!
I literally caught myself smiling so wide while watching this. 😅
Thanks for keeping us little stinkers happy 🫶

Don’t let me house coat hear you say that!!!! 💃🏻🫣
That purple and blue floral cardigan is the cardigan of my dreams, it is the vision that will dance in my head on Christmas Eve, the sugarplums do not stand a chance
wow that black puma brought back memories.
So snoogly. Also fun fact, you can thrift flip a tree skirt into a cape for yourself. It’s on my to do list this season. Wish me luck. 🍀
The needs the sun sculpture is the cutest thing I've ever seen!! 10/10
I think theres a few rendering errors @ 9:22 & 12:18

That crochet Christmas village is everything🥺
I give it a ten! It’s nostalgic and very creative. Thank you for decorating with us.

I have matching drinking glasses to the clear mugs with the holly! And one, singular matching shot glass. They were my grandma's lol

Hey Kathleen I don't think you called me stinky this video and this time I really was! What gives
I love the clothes 😃 literally gasped at the first sweater, the English one, and the star shaped quilting on the second.
Rate it a bunch of treasures for sure. Thanks for great content! Nothing less than an 8!
It's going to be a good day when you get a Snoopy!
Praying the thrift gods send me a sweater similar to the blue floral one you found!!! It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’m obsessed.
I was able to find similar Cherry Lewis ones on Poshmark/ebay for like $30 if it becomes a dire need!😉 thanks so much for watching 💕💕
@@KathleenIllustrated amazing!! Thanks for the lead, I’ll keep hunting!

I have an entire set of the rectangular luncheon plates (the ones you found specifically as well as two other sets). They were my great Aunts. My cousins and I discovered we’ve got some of each others pieces. We are going to have to rock paper scissor for them. 🌈🌈🦋🦋
Cozy fun decor, you nailed it 🎄Love the sweaters & Lands End items . I love Lands End cause they have clothes for tall women that’s me 🎉
You could always turn that Snoopy tie into the strap for a cross body bag… of the tiny itty bitty bit that I’ve seen of Gus, it seems like that might get more use out of a cool man-purse than an actual tie. Just a thought… I’m sure he will cherish it no matter what.
Gonna’ keep my guard up for Pencil Santa! My Cozy Rating: 10/10. ❤
Your Chihiro sweater is AMAZING! Did you hand embroider it yourself? I'm inspired to do the same wow
That English wool sweater is amazing! And Christmas music-wise, I just can't say no to The Carpenters or Nat King Cole.
