I’m listening to this on Friday night February 9 2024. It has been a rainy day all day. We’ve been having remodeling done in our bathroom and they finally finished putting in the new tile. I bought purple pansies for my front porch. I’m deeply inspired by the many birds that visit my yard. Tonight we had a deer 🦌 herd come through as well. Listening to your video while working around the kitchen I felt like I had a friend dropping by to tell me about her day (that’s you !). ❤

Lady is absolutely precious, she looks like a big girl with her hair cut but I really like it. She looked like a puppy when it was fluffy. She is truly like a little baby you can do anything with her, she follows you around and watches you turning that little head. I just love her. She's as graceful and elegant as her mommy. Beautiful video enjoyed so much. I'm not one to little rainy days they make me lazy.
I really don't like rainy days but I do live in the UK so we get a lot of rain! So I become much happier and energised when the sun is shining ❤
The sun ultimately brings me energy and I’m sure I would feel just as you if in it all the time.
I love your channel as you are very inspiring to us to do our best at caring for our loved ones by keeping our homes neat, clean, and graceful. However, your Lady content had allowed us to see your nurturing side more distinctly. You have a lot of compassion in your heart. Your little pup is a joy to watch as she grows and learns to interact with people and respect your home. Her floof was adorable however, since her haircut, we can see how much she has grown. In a few weeks, as her hair grows back, her soft and cuddly self will reappear. Her antics are so cute! Lady, you are a great addition to content. 🩷🐶🩷🐶🩷

I like to have a fresh pillow case everyday too! So I bought 7 silk ones and then I wash them once a week with my sheets.

That’s brilliant! Thank you for sharing. 💜 I’d never thought of this, which is odd because I lay out a fresh dish cloth and towel when “shutting down” the kitchen at night. I was literally laying in bed last night thinking how wonderful my freshly laundered sheets felt and smelled. Fresh pillowcases will definitely be added to my daily routine.
I bought two a few years ago and flip them so I get four nights out of them. Then they get hand washed and hung from the shower rod on a mesh doohickey to dry.
Towels, too. They get used twice (to save on water not washing so often) before putting in the laundry. We used to have to go a week with the same towel because we couldn't afford laundromat, but they got so crusty and musty 🤢 I am so thankful we don't need a laundromat anymore.
Good idea- where did you find your pillow cases. Trying to find good price on white silk ones

I live in a part of France that gets a lot of rain. As I always say, at least you don't have to shovel rain... I moved here from snowy Canada. I can't say I love rain, but I can live with it. Lady is adorable! With your wardrobe in mind, I ordered a few dresses in the January sales, and they arrived today. Looking forward to trying them on, and to the weather being conducive to wearing them!

Hello Nikki. Have watched you for years and my daughter has been enjoying your videos and suggestions as well.
Regarding bedding, I like to make quilts and to protect the quilts on our bed from the dog(s), I put a flat sheet on top before we go to sleep, and that collects any stains or hair from the dogs, and it is easy to wash every couple of days if necessary … Maybe this will help you if you find a new duvet cover and want to keep it nice looking longer…..

Sometimes I do feel more inspired and energetic during rainy periods. When it's a steady 40-50f and not the midwest swings. Those take me out. This was well timed too cause I just got my duvet cover in the mail today.
I needed to see this because I went to sleeping on the couch to finally sleeping in my own room and trying to decorate it 🙏❤️

Firstly, I love Rain too!. I grew up in a tropical country and when it rained it poured!. We used to dance under it. Even as an adult I did that when my Husband and I went on our honeymoon. We were the only fools out there in shallow water under a downpour. It was so much fun!. We laughed like you wouldn't believe!. I mean, it poured even on our wedding day. We got married on Jones Beach, LI in October. It was absolutely insane, but we were like oh well. I just picked up my Hair and carried on 😂🤷♀️ I also love the sound of Rain on a tin roof or falling from it. I started my home chores late today as I had a Doc appointment. Thank you for the company as I tidy my abode. If little Lady could grab a towel and clean with you she would. When she tilts her head like that it's her trying to figure how to. She's a doll. I agree that Dogs look naked after a haircut. Hopefully her Dress will grow back out so she can twirl with you again. Over & out 👋

You make a good point - the bedroom is where we start and end our day and it should be a room that brings us peace.
I sooo remember living in the southwest and loved waking up to a rainy day. It's a nice reprieve from the desert sun. That's good that you get out in it and enjoy the change in weather.

Beginning in the bedrom every day gives me such a sense of accomplishment. I, too, use all white bedding, but employ a mate laissez coverlet rather than a duvet and comforter. Keeping the bedroom nice is an invitation in the evening and a guarantee of a night's peace.

It shocks me that people wait so long to change their sheets too. I could never. I do it faithfully every week and really that’s a stretch for me. I’d love it done twice a week. Nothing feels better than putting a clean body into clean, fresh sheets. 🙌🏻

Oh, and our pillows get washed a few times a year as well.

I had an apartment inspection about 3 weeks ago. My son and I spent the weekend before the inspection cleaning and organizing, Since the inspection my son and I have kept up oñ keeping things nice. My son bought me flowers to encourage me. I bought a small bottle of the cologne you use to reward myself. Miss Dior blooming bouquet. Love the scent

That is one of the very few good things I learned from an ex-boyfriend's mother - folding fitted sheets. Years later, Martha Stewart taught me the same, or similar, way. If I didn't have a king-sized bed, I'd do it the way Nikki does. Alas, I don't have the wingspan LOL

I love the rain as well….. I grew up in England…. I was going to ask what spray cleaner you use … I always use damp microfibre cloths for dusting. Change my sheets weekly…. Your dress is beautiful …. Thank you again for the beautiful video…. ❤
This multi surface cleaner is a lemon one from TJ Maxx that I decanted. Nothing special but it’s what I’ve been using when I need to get something up🌹
Our dog ruins our sheets too she scratches at the sheets every night spins around and scratches again then she settles down for the night , until she hears a cat then all hell brakes lose scares us to death at two am 😂 , I change heys once a week and in summer twice a week xxxx

I like dogs, but cannot handle them on the furniture. I do enjoy your content very much.
I felt this way at one point too. If fur were a problem, I wouldn’t have budged.
Years ago after my divorce a friend allowed me stay in his home until I could get back on my feet. It was a weird situation since he was married and lived 45 minutes away, so it was just me and one of his adult daughters. He, and the other two adult daughters would stay on weekends since his parents lived next door. In the 7 months I lived there no one washed or changed the sheets on their bed. I was so grossed out by this! Who does that? I wash my sheets every week.
It’s always interesting to learn how others keep their spaces. I feel a room starts to smell bad just because of unwashed bedding.
I have known people like that, too. It's gross, no matter what the reason or excuse.

Loving Miss Lady. Mini poodle? I have a gorgeous standard poodle and she is so affectionate, like your Lady! Yes, please let her hair grow back again. I keep mine mostly short for summer. Blessings!
Washing sheets every week! I’m shocked. My mom taught me to do it once a month and to time it based on my monthly cycle: wash just after the cycle is over in case of stains. I think one of my grandmas did the same. The other grandma….she washed sheets twice a year.

Friendly PSA: *Depending on what breed of dog,* shaving should not be done except when necessary (severe matting, for example). It can cause all kinds of problems, including not growing back properly. Same goes for cats. Especially when you have a pet that relies on their fur/hair/coats to regulate their body temperature. Some view shaving (certain breeds) for appearance or because they think they're helping their pet by shaving as animal a b u s e .
What do you dust with?
Usually just a damp washcloth. On certain things I'll spray a multipurpose cleaner, like my dressing table.
I do the same Nikki. I seldom use a duster.
This January was the cloudiest on record, so I had little motivation. This past week, we've had sun! When I see the dust bunnies, etc. I feel much more motivated!
The way Lady lifts her feet as she pads across the floor is so cute. I do miss her furrier self though. I made lunch as I listened and watched today's video..the music was very calming and beautiful. Sometimes when I dread doing a household task, I put on one of your videos. It helps.
