Thank you for this video, first time I’ve experienced the red rectangle regret. I’m about 18 months in to the experience and love everything. Soft boot; hard boot; “wall charger” boot and the electrons started flowing! Have a great day!
I've had this problem twice in my 18 moths and 60 thousand miles of ownership. Both times I simply turned off and on the charger 60 amp breaker to reset it. That worked fine and is quick and easy.
Thanks very much, Duke. This is very helpful. (By the way, I was known as "Duke" in secondary school. So I'm particularly interested in what you have to say! This interest is intensified by the fact that I'll be picking up my new R1S on December 15, 2023.)
Thank you for showing how to soft reboot and hard reboot the R1T. I did not know that. We've had our R1T about 3 months and have not needed to do that but interesting.
I agree, in most cases resetting the breaker should clear the error. However, the first time this happened to me resetting the breaker did not work, and the Rivian Service Center walked me through the process in the video and the error cleared. This is a good question, and I would like to know the cause. Is it the truck or the charger? The first time I noticed this was after I returned from a road trip were I was only DC fast charging, so it was not the Rivian Wall charger in that case, but an issue with the vehicle. Thanks for contributing to the conversation!
Thank you so much Duke, I had no idea how to do a hard reboot. We will be receiving our R1S this Friday! So excited.
You're welcome and Congratulations!🙏

You're welcome! I don't know what the cause is, but it's something to look out for.
Also, did you look into the EGO zero turn mower? Gonna get one?
Yes, I did look into that mower. It's really nice, but it I may need a commercial grade mower. I'm waiting for more options to come to market.
Thanks for the very informative video! 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
Love to hear your thoughts on the CyberTruck! Video coming soon?
Yes, soon!
Man I wish you had a video of you installing your EVSE! That would be dope
I plan on installing another for our second EV that we will be purchasing this year.
How do you set it to 48 amps? Mine chargers at 2.4 kWh
How many amps is the charger?
I couldn’t get mine to charge and what it ended up being for my vehicle was that it was in snow mode. Very strange
That is very odd. Thanks for sharing that information!
Why do you choose to charge to 70% instead of 80%?
70% is recommended for battery longevity. Plus 70% gives me over 200 miles of range which is way more than I need on a daily bases.
You don’t need to reboot the car, just the breaker, from experience :)
My question is why does it keep happening?
I agree, in most cases resetting the breaker should clear the error. However, the first time this happened to me resetting the breaker did not work, and the Rivian Service Center walked me through the process in the video and the error cleared.
